1. how about a Jewish anchor?
Rafael ,   Yerushalayim Israel   (04.07.08)
The Israeli media consists of and represents only one element, and, in fact, a rather small element numerically, of the Israeli population: the left to radical left. How about some real and genuine newscasters that represent the vast number of secular and observant Jews whose political opinions are right of center and whose values are based on Torah?
2. Arabic subtitles too
Smith ,   TA, Israel   (04.07.08)
There should be an option (if one doesn't exist already) for Arabs to select Arabic subtitles for Hebrew programs to make viewing easier and vice-versa for us. Also more Arab journalists means we can send them to countries like Syria so we can get on the ground news from an Israeli perspective instead of just reporting on state-Arabic news. It's a good news to read this article. Flies in the face of all those TBers who have convinced themselves that this is apartheid country against Arabs and against them.
3. This is not an Arab country, keep them off my TV.
Antonio ,   Haifa   (04.07.08)
They can work for Al Jazeera or Al Manar.
4. when we gonna forget about the nationlity
ali ,   israel jerusalem   (04.07.08)
Sure ,when the whole middle east will be effected by israeli government decisions , arabs have to read Israeli news
5. I'd like to see an Arab anchor ...
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (04.07.08)
For example, Wafa Sultan.
6. #1 You should leave Jerusalem now and then
Chaim   (04.07.08)
"How about some real and genuine newscasters that represent the vast number of secular and observant Jews whose political opinions are right of center and whose values are based on Torah?" LOL
7. How about giving Arutz 7 / INN a station?
LEE ,   NY, USA   (04.07.08)
8. "Jews, Arabs and Russians alike" - oy Vavoy!
noa ,   Beer Sheva, Israel   (04.07.08)
politically incorrect!!!
9. Israeli media should also include positive coverage about
Rami ,   Nazareth, Israel   (04.07.08)
the Israeli-Arab sector and not limit it s coverage to negative incident. (i.e. when a demonstration takes place or someone stone a car in wadi Ara)
10. How about an International News Channel?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (04.07.08)
Having an Arab anchor is not that important although it is probably “politically correct”. What is important is for the Foreign Ministery to wake up and to establish a Multilanguage TV News Channel to counter the masterful anti-Israel propaganda by the Arab World which is broadcast by the TV Networks they control of have invested huge sums in. A Qassam falls on Sderot and our TV Channels, 1, 2 and 10 carry on broadcasting Mickey Mouse, some pre-historical TV show or a cooking show! A terrorist is killed before he can kill hundreds of Israelis and CNN, SkyNews, Al Jazeera and The BBC are quick to scream Israeli Aggression kills "militant"! The truth is that we already have the TV Channel - IBA 3 - but it is so boring that no one even watches it! In Israel we don't have "news" on our TV - we have "olds"! So, let’s have an Arab anchor so Meretz can be happy and the hell with our side of the story.
11. In Lebanon
Libneniyyeh ,   Beirut/Canada   (04.08.08)
We have Arabic channels, English, Armenian, Muslim, Christian, Druze, secular, mixed, uninhibited. conservative, kids, adults .... We have the news in four languages: Arabic, English, French, Armenian. And none of these channels get blocked or closed. Our anchor people invite politicians to talk shows to watch them fight with each other and curse, and the public watches and laughs. And if someone important in the country dies, almost all channels will close. And if a great singer or musician dies, you'll hear their music on most channels. Yes, there may be some disagreement amongst our idiot politicians, but at the end of the day no one back home really cares about the news anymore because its all the same repetitive BS, and they'd much rather watch a good documentary, or entertainment show...and people from all regions of the country meet in coffee shops by the sea and laugh. Decent people see through what's happening - its mostly ignorants and youths who get into fiery demonstrations and such. Regular people will go to the theatre or to the movies, walk on the corniche if they are broke...basically enjoy life. We have a saying in Lebanon which translates roughly as: "bicker with me so that I can bicker with you. Truth is, I haven't the heart to leave you" And in addition to the many things unique to us...our sense of humour never fails. Thats why we have shows that make fun of politicians left and right, top and bottom.
12. #9, Rami, news is negative everywhere. I am sick of it
David ,   Boston, USA   (04.08.08)
Its not just in Israel or US. For some reason the Press feels people want to hear negative news 99% of the time. I'd like to hear more positive news stories since they happen every day and are the majority of what happens in the world.
