1. The SUPERIORITY of the secular society!
Oh,how superior we are!
Haredim ,and religious in general, are just inferior people to be taught by us ,seculars!
We have to put these nothings in their right place!
About us SECULARS?
Nothing to criticize!Absolutely nothing!
Articles related to intimate analyses are meant only to those inferiors beings.NOT US,THE SUPERIOR SECULARS!

2. I thought we'd seen the last of Tali
Even when Tali raises good points, which she does now and then, they are unfortunately so buried under besmirching Hareidi society that they get lost.
We know, Tali, that there are evil people everywhere; we know that it is a mitzvah to report them; your article in YNet isn't going to change anything.
|
|
3. If this article is correct, what perverted priorities those
have, who live in the midst of it and do not tell the authorities...!!!
HOW CAN YOU SEE A CHILD SUFFER AND NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!

4. Nicht skande vir die goyim
That's the message I was given 15 years ago when, as a journalist for a Jewish community newspaper, I was trying to cover stories like this that were happening in the religious community.
Nicht skande vir die goyim "No scandals in front of the rest of the world."
Meanwhile, the pain goes on. We're a lot like the other middle eastern communities.

5. Paedophiliac Haredim
There are paedophiliac haredim like there are paedophiliac seculars. However, it would be expected that with all the "holier than thou " attitude surrounding the finge of haredim amongst the greater secular population, these would be environments in which such horrendous things would not take place. But , finally , the Haredim represent just a sect within a religion, and in the same fashion this kind of activity take place within sects in the US ( see today's paper ) it will equally take place in Israel . Same causes ( devious understanding of religion ) will produce same effects.....
|
|
6. of course only haredim keep quiet
Secular society go right to the authorities, NOT. This is a common reaction, especially in a society that condons most forms of human corruption which is quite prevalent today. Let's all try to help one another rather point fingers.

7. # 1 Karens support of child molestors
Prephaps instead of immediatly launching in to a pathetic and baseless attack on seculars you might want to actually admit that their is a serious problem here within the Harideem community.
Most cases go un reported, what we have here is just the tip of the iceburg.
Its because of people like you that live in denial and follow everyword a rabbi says that this sort of thing is becoming wide spread. It seems these people have lost the basic human instinct to determing what is right and wrong. Just another example from the ultra orthadox who are so keen to promote their morals.

Are they as keen as you to promote their morals?
(Actually I don't see them promoting their morals to others than themselves.)
Do you think you are more moral than them?
Why don't I see articles about the amount of drug addicted;suiciders;sexual perverted;depressed;poor (very poor)educated;deluded;sick seculars too? Why?
Why do you think you are going well and religious not?
Of course, it is monstruous what happened to the children of this ill woman, but I bet it happens worse things among seculars ,which are not analyzed with the same "keeness"cases happening among religious are.
There are no excuses:you "seculars"have a deluded sense of superiority, which is absolutely FALSE!You must get rid of this stupidity and stop following goyim patterns as to find scapegoats in order not to see ones'selves defects.

Ask any therapist in Tel Aviv and they will tell you stories of secular sexual abuse, this is anti semitism.

11. Is everyone clueless?
These animals that abuse children are unfortunately EVERYWHERE. They are not bound by relegion, nationality or social status. Rich, poor, educated and illiterate, they hide behind their masks, sure that no one will poke noses into their dirty little business. And they are right.
To even hint that 'not airing dirty laundry' or 'see no evil, speak no evil' is just a religious phenomenon is to turn a blind eye and condemn children everywhere.

with her son. Geez, what happened to torah lessons?

14. I suffered
sexual abuse in a totally secular family and background. when I wanted to tell an adult about it was also was swept under the carpet. feeling comfortable or uncomfrtable with this subject has nothing to do with being religious or not.it has to do with how one as an individual can deal with such an outrageous situation. everyone in every society needs to be aware that if you are presented with a situation that is above ones head, reach out to someone who you think might be able to help you help your loved one.
Word of advice to Tali, GROW UP!

15. Ynet's recent child abuse stories are ALL from Baalei Tshuvt
You can tell they're BTs or geirim because of "their" extremism - the path BTs usually take to make up for their past "misdeeds". They go to the most extreme insane man and refer to him as “their Rabbi” when he’s probably excommunicated from the religious communities. Seculars who repent and become religious, would go all the way to the extreme end, even as far as becoming chareidi because they do not understand how to go about it the middle-way. So what happens because of them? ALL chareidim are bashed and criticized by Ynet and seculars who love such stories. Normal chareidim from chareidi solid families do NOT have such abuse cases. These BTs are used to it from their previous lives as seculars and from the violent schools they attended before they became religious. SO THE REAL PROBLEM IS THE SECULARS WHO HAVE NEVER LEARNED MORAL VALUES AND ARE TAUGHT IN VIOLENT ENVIRONMENT.

16. Keep the face covered - you filthy animal
How can they DARE to think themselves as religious? They are sick depraved perverts and should be banged up in prison and the key thrown away. They should also be kicked out of the community and treated as outcasts.
These sick child abusers must be castrated and women sterilized so that they cannot do this again.
Religious? Don’t make me laugh, they are not religious, they are perverted greedy leach sucking scumbags.
Anyone here in this talkback that covers for them, or makes excuses for them is also a disgusting excuse for a 'human being'.

17. to call them monsters...dehumanizes & separates them away...
from the rest of the Israeli population (both secular and religious).
It allows all of us to behave in a manner where we can say that we are somehow superior and better than the rest.
These are abusive, sadistic, vile people behaving in very foul & evil ways they are destroying children and they need to be stopped
But we also need to learn to moderate our language so that we don't come off thinking that we better and that such things don't happen around us.

18. Author doesn't care about children
Child abuse is a problem is both secular and religious Jewish communities. it's disgusting how secularists are trying to use this as a bat to attack haredim rather than deal with the issue that exists among all sectors of the community.
By potliticizing it and making it an attack against haredim it actually strengthens the minority that preach against treating this as a criminal affair because people become afraid if they report the child abuse the authorities will use the report, not to punish the abuser but to attack the entire haredi community.
Shame on ynet for endangering the community by choosing, not to focus on fighting child abuse but to instead just engage in baseless hatred.

19. Child Abuse
Child abuse cuts across all religions, all sectors of society! One only has to read a paper from the US and you read about pedofile Priests in the Catholic church, here it is a few Rabbis and others,I bet if you picked up an paper in a muslim country you would read more of the same.
It doesn't matter what religion a molester is what does matter is that the molester is quickly arrested and proscuted to the fullest extent of the law and locked up never to be paroled to commit these vicious acts again! All those who molest children should be given life without parole and that way we can keep our children safe!

__________
are you kidding me? you must be living in a cave. I can recount you cases upon cases of so called 'solid charedi families' who perpetrated these sort of horrific acts. the cases of the 'son of the admor', brizel, feder from bnei brak are just the tip of the iceberg (feel free to goggle all of these). And i can also sadly tell you that this is true from personal experience, as a person from a solid charedi background that suffered such abuse from other 'solid' charedim. get your hand out of the middle eastern sand.

22. To Keren, Israel
You know, it's exactly the kind of attitude from BOTH sides that is causes a backlash between the "seculars," and "religious."
Jews are Jews, no more and no less, some are more observant and some less, that that you and others like you decide to put labels on people's level of observance doesn't make it right.
FYI: Articles printed in YNET and other Israeli news agencies do not mention whether or not the perp. is secular don't have to, it's silently understood by the majority of Israelis. If you don't want to be called out by your label, don't give yourself one.

25. To all - The point is..
Regardless of faith and level of observence. The primary problem is position of Authority over children. Paedophiles flock to position and jobs where they have private and authoratative control over children. This lends itself to an increased risk among clergy, be it Rabbi's, Priests Imams or Ministers. Society and its clergy need to take precautions for the children's sake and their own. Buttom line if you are clergy, don't allow youself to be alone with children where other adults can't see you and for parents, don't accept anyone who insists that your child must be left alone with him or her. From a Haredi standpoint, in as much as most would agree that an unmarried man should not hang around behind closed doors with an unmarried woman, do the same with children. Even if the man / women are wonderful and innocent people, why take the chance.

26. Pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder, present in all sectors
Some facts:
1) Pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder.
2) It is present in ALL sectors of every society.
3) Some disturbed people become religious extremists, as part of their psychological disturbance (they are not truly religious nor truly seeking religion, just using religion as another crutch or weapon for their pathology).
4) The media loves to bash the charedi community, and these sorts of stories reinforce stereotypes. It's a win/win for the media, but a loss overall for intelligent discussion of issues.
5) Children and other potential victims MUST be protected at all costs from predators. Sites like www.TheUnorthodoxJew.Blogspot.com, while deeply flawed, do try to do this.
6) Rabbis and others who wish to help need to be trained and become knowledgeable. Neither brain surgery nor mental health care can be done without any training or knowledge. Ignorance is not always bliss.
7) Pedophilia is apparently incurable, so these disturbed people must be kept away from children and youth, and positions of power. They crave such positions and volunteer for them. We must deny them access to kids!
8) Places like mikvaot need the presence of a watchman, ideally someone beyond reproach.
9) Predators like the closed nature of charedi society.
10) Beating up a predator will not cure him nor accomplish much by itself. It will merely convince him or her to better cover his / her tracks.
11) Better education re: safe touch, safety issues, and self-esteem may help. Need discussions on Hashkafah.com regarding the naivete of some in the orthodox community.
12) We need the Geulah!

27. Stop talking about religious vs the non-religious
Why do you all fight with each other over the terminology, and if one group of people are more prone to these awful attacks on innocent children than the other. What one needs is a way of finding the perpetrators early enough so that these poor children do not suffer for such a long time, and put a stop to those criminals (there is no other word to describe them). The haredi society should form their own special police force to find out all those cases and deal with them, if they do not want the 'secular' sector to have to be the ones dealing with it. Maybe these crazy mothers are simply in need of medical attention because they have too many children one after the other from very early age; there is a need also of organising psychological support for women who can't cope, prevent them from becoming 'nut cases' and not to wait for them to end up damaging others. I just wonder what kind of adults these children will end up becoming.
And stop once and for all talking about charedi, less charedi, BT, etc. We all need to follow normal lines of behaviour, behave as a normal human being to another human being, and when one turns into an animal, then just take him/her away from their society and lock them away, if the medical world can't cure them, so that they won't be in contact with young people any more.

So sad that Keren's first thought is how this reflects on her/haredim and not about how to save children suffering in hell on earth.
|
|
30. #29 Of course I fell sad for such a disgrace!
One week ago,in Brasil,a 12years old
girl was discovered hanging by the hands.
She was kept this way every day and beated and burned. Her mother took money every month from the family who had been done that to her daughter.
There is no explanation to such a hell.
This brutally ,UNFORTUNATELY,SHOCKINGLY,
happens and we don't know why!
That's why is preferable a cure in all
society, to avoid this evil madness,
and this cure must happen all over ,not only in one sector of the society.
That's what I meant.
But even with a cure, there are things ,I think,we can not explain so shocking and apart of everything they are!
