31. #30, since its a controversial subject,
everyone has their own interpretation,
theres a hadith that goes something like if your not sure about it, its best to stay away from it. though i dont understand whats so hard to understand from "no alcohol" (plain and simple) can it get from there. but hey, man is a quarrelsome being. thanks for the link by the way. oh, and these sheiks in the religion: the people(muslims) can judge and choose to take the info or leave it. the sheikhs arent the only people with minds in which to think with.
the quran came after king solomon's time, which in those days, it was normal to drink of alcohol amongst anyone; so thats the reason why solomon's words dont appy to muslims.
other than that, muslims are free to make our own judgements and practice them.

33. Some of the jews here are being hypocrits
if there was trace pork products in the dressing, the religious jews would be having a fit. Muslims don't drink alcohol. so what. they obviously can check the ingredients or form their own version of a kashrut label and ask Israeli companies to include it. I don't see why this is big news other than for the purpose of giving the bigoted talkbackers something to talk about.

34. Unkosher salad dressing
Why should strict Muslims not ban products containing forbidden ingredients? - I grew up abroad checking labels for non-kosher ingredients. The Kashrut committee regularly produced lists of products that did not conform, but it was my choice whether I used them or not .

you should know full well that religious jews eat only products approved by rabbinical authorities which bear the appropriate stamp, such as Badatz, or Jerusalem rabbinate, etc.

Simon, Tel Aviv, if your ignorance could speak, you'd be shouting: Have a look at map http://members.aol.com/Wisdomway/twelvetribes.htm or google twelve tribes of Israel. Reality is not what Arab and Peace Now propagandists want you to believe.

#27 Please leave Rivkah alone. Now I don't drink either, not even the limit of "5 to 8 oz of wine rule" that you hear so many doctors talking about nowadays. But still... Please don't put someone down just because you don't see eye to eye. James

39. Not Fodder
Any minute now muslims are going to boycott and start burning stuff in protest of salad dressing. Demanding it be taken away from us all. Read labels and don't buy it, but don't go complaining about it. Think my opinion is islamophobic? They reap what they sow.

40. Musa, you should remember, that even with an OU certificate,
Kosher products may not be Halal. As noted in the article, Kosher products can contain alcohol. Indeed, beer, scotch, vodka, some wines, can all carry the OU.
And while it is less likely to find alcohol in prepared products, as always, its best to read the ingredient list.

42. Is wine vinegar forbidden too?
Vinegar from wine or vinegar made from grapes to be more precise, may have small trace amounts of alcohol. Is it disallowed for that trace amount? I think that it is the use of the wine vinegar in this case that is the problem.

46. #14 and leaving the country
Why should you care? Possibly because you are human and I would imagine that if you ate things against your own dietary regulations by accident you would be pretty upset.
So what's the big deal? State on the label that a product contains alcohol, or pig products, or non-kosher products. You obviously have a difficult time being a reasonable human being and actually, rather than accepting your moronic suggestion that Moslems should leave their homeland because of labelling on a bottle of salad dressing, perhaps you should consider moving to a country where there are no Moslems to offend you. I believe you'll find some territories like that on the moon.
