Government dismantles Strategic Affairs Ministry     Roni Sofer
1. Olmert: "This is Israel. We don't do strategy."
Rather than have a leadership that thinks strategically, Israel's PMO has his political advisers and a weak National Security Council. The Ministry of Strategic Affairs was just another political plum to keep Lieberman happy. Hes now gone, so who needs it? In Israel, they prefer to improvise, so it's no wonder we get disasters like Lebanon War 2006. There's just no one around with responsibility to think these issues out properly. For Olmert, it seems, the only "strategy" is survival to another day.
