1. get baraks workers to demolish it jews to rebuild for jews
zionist forever   (04.13.08)
Get these new arab workers Barak wants so badly to come demolish the house of an arab terrorist afterall there is a shortage of construction workers. Once the house is razed to the ground then let the government sell the land over to jewish developers who can build homes for jews only and the profits from the sale to the developers can be given to the relatives of the murdered jews. Jerusalem is supposed to be the capital of the jewish state so lets have some justice for jews. If this regime wants to do something for the jews for once and not the arabs then this is the way to forward.

demolishing Jerusalem home to punish someones for others fault, or murdering Gaza teens to uproots terror infrastructure.
3. Destroying the workplace of these 56 mks..

would serve justice and world peace far better.
4. ISRAEL IS NO LONGER A WESTERN COUNTRY
Arik Silverman ,   Milwaukee USA   (04.13.08)
I can't recall ever hearing of a criminal's home being demolished by government command in the Western world (except maybe in the days of Hitler, where a whole village like Lidice could be destroyed). It's shocking that almost half the Knesset favors this. It's hard to think of Israel as a country sharing values of the West when one reads of such things. PS: there are occasional cases of places associated with terrible crimes being demolished, e.g. the apartment building in Milwaukee where Jeffery Dahmer killed his victims, but these demolitions are done by the owner, not by government order, and are usually done for sound business reasons, such as that renters wanted to live in such a notorious building.
5. Barbarity at its best
Marlene N. ,   New York City   (04.13.08)
It makes not one iota of difference what this person did or how many lives he took because this is carrying out collective punishment against people who had no part in what this individual did. Demolishing homes has long been a hobby of Israel, yet I don't see where the homes of Jews were demolished who carried out crimes, such as Yigal Amir. On the contrary, he has a grand life in jail and able to indulge in sexual relations with his wife. Even the despised British occupational army in Palestine never demolished the homes of Jews for the crimes that the Irgun carried out. Despicable.

So, how many terrorists' family properties had been demolished to build the Hebrew state?

8. #4 What western values?
Sidney ,   USA   (04.13.08)
When did they start? Certainly not before World War II when no doors were open to Jewish refugees. What were the French values in Algeria? What western nation did anything about the killing fields of Cambodia? Which western nation is doing anything about Darfur? What western nation shunned the butchers of Beijing after Tianamen Square? Who will boycott the Olympics over Tibet? Did western nations do anything when Hutus massacred around a million Tutsis? If you need more examples, I can give them.

While I do not agre with demolishing the murderer's home. The family of this young man is by no mean's innocent as they have not shown one ounce of remorse for what their murderous son and brother did . Had they shown sympathy and compassion for the victim's it might be a different story, but they didn't and in fact, even expressed pride in his murderous rampage and set up a mourning tent and flew flags of terror groups who boasted of being responsible for carrying out the massacre. I will tell you what is "despicable", a terrorist gunman bursting into a school library and shooting students studying at their desks at pointblank range then while their students are wounded and dying confirming the kill by shooting them again until their dead. That is barbarity at it's best, the murderers family can always rebuild their home and in fact, will have no trouble with funds which would come from the terrorists groups. But the victim's parents can never have their precious son's back.

11. You people are crazy!
Tums ,   Canada   (04.14.08)
All you wackos who think it is wrong to demolish these people's home, you people are crazy! You have no idea about what is really going on there. His family created a shrine for this guy! This murderer! Israeli arabs went this guys home to pay their respects! This house should have been demolished 5 minutes after he killed those students. All of you think otherwise need to a wake up call....and you need to get a life.
12. It's only American money..who cares ?
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (04.14.08)
It costs money and resources to build homes. Money that one can argue has come from American taxpayers. But hey... Americans love going and dieing in places such as Iraq for the sake of Israel so I'm sure they don't mind a simple sacrifice. Just make you sure you keep feeding the American soldier the bull about dieing for the sake of freedom.

Other relatives of this murderer wanted to put up a memorial tent in Jordan but the Jordanian authorities stopped them. In Israel for well over a week this shrine to terror was up and in the begining Hamas flags were flying outside it and the police did nothing even though hanging a terrorist flag alone is officialy a crime and sadly one we dont bother enforcing anymore but hanging it outside the memorial tent for a man who just murdered 8 yeshiva students was something else. I would like to know why we continue to play nice guy and why every general in the army hasnt stepped forward begging to be the one to give the order to demolish the place. The arabs have actually got the right idea here for a change we should have followed Jordans example from the start and never permited the shrine of terror to be put up. Now we just need to bring the house down and sell it to jewish developers to build jewish homes and the profits go to the relatives of these inocent jews.
14. It violates international law
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach USA   (04.14.08)
Never mind that it completely violates international law, just do it, since Israel can't spend a day, probably not an hour, without violating some international law or other. Look like a worse fool before the world. Make them hate you more. Blow the house up.
15. # 4 How About My Lai?

and all of the other Vietnamese villages burned to the ground if they were suspected of aiding the Viet Cong by the American military? How about Algerian homes destroyed by the French to avenge attacks on French settlers and French occupying forces?

A survey carried out the Panels Research Institute finds that more than 75% of Israelis see partial or total transfer of Israeli-Arabs out of Israel in any final-status agreement that includes a Palestinian state. The poll asked whether it would be justified, in the framework of an agreement for the establishment of a Palestinian state, to demand the transfer out of Israel of all Arabs. Nearly 30% said yes with no reservations, while 28% said only Arabs who did not express loyalty to Israel should be expelled. In addition, another 19% said that Arabs who lived in areas bordering the PA-controlled areas, such as Wadi Area and the southern Galilee, should be transferred out.The remainder, just under 25%, said no Arabs should be transferred out.The survey encompassed 668 respondents, taking part in a series of Panel4All internet surveys. The Panels Institute says the respondents are a representative sampling of the adult population in Israel, and that the margin of error is 3.7%. The solution ? Details at : http://xrl.us/bjcgx
18. Better than tearing doewn the home -- TRANSFER the muslimes
hymie zoltsveis ,   NYC, NY, USA   (04.14.08)
Tearing down the home is just as teh Torah discusses, for a DISEASED home. These MORAL LEPERS must have their home razed, and mouring tent burned. Then these MORAL LEPERS must be transferred out. All of the discussion about waiting until the courts speak is just proof----(Israeli) Liberalism IS a mental disorder. Let's start treating the muslime palestinains as the ENEMY that they are
19. there we go, this is to be expected
(04.14.08)
this is always what happens in the territories, so why shoulnt it happen here, in the israeli side of the territory? though, its more probable that the israelis do not want bad publicity. well see how this will turn out. it is unfair on the other hand, the family members doesnt have knowledge of activities such as this, and therefore why should their house be demolished-other than they live in the same house? anyway, demolishing the house nonetheless does not scare potential others with similar agendas to refrain from such activities. you demolish their house, they will find some place else to reside in(more than that, you relieve them of paying the staggering annual 'arnuna'-and if you want to cripple them financially, you have to find some way to take their money) or some other apartment to rent.
20. who is theking ruling the occupied territories?
observer   (04.14.08)
destruction of a home requires the authorization of an IDF major-general. I have almost forgotten; it's a military occupation.
21. #11 illogical?
(04.14.08)
shrine? i doubt that. they cant escape the publicity that came out of the attack. so while you think this has turned out as a new worshiping place, these people just want to get on with their lives and try to cope with losing a family member. streets and roads, on the other hand have been named, as a result of jewish terrorists gunning down victims (in the old city, arab qtr as proof). and you want to demolish their house, you arent better then they are; though you work more slyly-always publicizing any move they make all over the world, while keeping your side on the down low. and you talk about crazy? where the hell have you been? are you the only one that lives "there?" keep your breath to cool your pourage. stop making biased assumptions. the "israeli arabs" as you call them that paid their respects were family members. if you paid attention to the news, non-family members were restricted access to the family's residence. get a life? you need to stop thinking out of your a** and use some common sense. revenge (as you can clearly see in our region) doesnt get you nowhere.
22. Demolish the house, deport the family
James Sloan ,   London UK   (04.14.08)

Voice of West ,   Athens, Greece   (04.14.08)
You list a litany of terrible crimes perpetrated by non-Westerners that the West failed to intervene in. You entirely missed the point of #4's comment. In the West we do not destroy the homes of our citizens without a proper legal procedure and not because it is the whim of the people or a majority of parliament. In the West we live by the rule of law and generally laws are enforced by the citizens themselves. When the parliament passed a law to stop smoking in public places indoors the people in Ireland, Britian, and FRANCE stopped. In Israel I still leave most bars stinking like an ashtray and coughing up my guts. Why is it always up to the West to write the wrongs of non-Westerners? ITS NOT. But we do our treat our people better than 75% of the rest of the world treats their own. And you live in Australia taking full advantage of it.
