1. What price does Hamas pay for the Kassams?
Ken Besig ,   Israel   (05.01.08)
Uzi Arad talks tough, almost bloodthirsty, about how Israel won't tolerate her citizens being attacked and murdered. Yes, Uzi and his Left wing buddies make the most blood curdling threats, and then when the Hamas Kassams hit Ashkelon or Sderot or the entire Negev, or the terrorists of Abbas's PA shoot our citizens to death, he and his friends demand that the Olmert government appease the Hamas and the PA, call for all sorts of concessions to those trying to murder us, supply them with diesel fuel and electricity, and let them bring their terrorist into Israel for free medical treatment. We even meet with Egyptians or Abbas to talk over ways to make it easier to kill us. Never again, what a sick and dangerous joke. If it weren't for the fact that our enemies murder us with impunity, we could all laugh out loud.
2. most meaningful message
Jim ,   Rome,Italy   (05.01.08)
Arad's message is crystal clear. Should Iran attack Israel it will be obliterated. Interesting Hillary Clinton said same thing, except that it wouod be the US which would do the job.
3. Except for the "palis" & Hamas and Syria and Saudis
Zippy   (05.01.08)
Should I go on?
4. Israel and the Holocaust
Said ,   London, UK   (05.01.08)
The Holocaust wasn't the reason Israel came into being, but it certainly was the main catalyst. Without the Holocaust, Ben-Gurion wouldn't have felt the urgency in creating the Jewish state, and there would have been a much slower drip of Jewish immigration into Palestine, that most probably wouldn't have outnumbered the local Arab population. The Palestinians felt and still feel that they are paying the price for 2000 years of European racism.
5. Strike Iran Soon
Augusto Noronha ,   Brazil   (05.01.08)
The only manner to stop threat from Siria/Hisbullat/Hamas/Fatah, is striking Iran as soon as possible, if no, the painfull and more strong threat each day. Iran must be striked !
6. Never Again
Brod ,   USA   (05.01.08)
Unfortunately, Hamas continues to boambard Israel with rocket attacks with impunity. So never again may just be as hollow as an empty drum.
7. Palestine ??
Jason Asman ,   boston U.S.A.   (05.01.08)
Palestine was never a nation nor are palestinians a entity as a people. It's a false creation of the arab myth. This geographical entity is false.
8. thats why children in sderot are sleeping in bunkers
chaim ,   brooklyn n.y   (05.01.08)
this criminally insane traitorous, pathetic delusional coward ehud olmert has turned all of israel into a one big warsaw ghetto, where children of sderot have been forced for the last two years to sleep in bunkers, people of israel if you will not get rid of this traitor, you will have another holocaust on your heads
9. never again... harm Israel will pay price... words not deeds
M ,   Toronto   (05.01.08)
So why is the "nakba" cellebrated in Israel? Never again what? What meaning have these words today when the arabs in Israel mourn our country's existance with the blessing of the judicial system?
10. Said, #4, I agree with everything up to last sentence
Jake   (05.01.08)
especially the 1st sentence: "The Holocaust wasn't the reason Israel came into being, but it certainly was the main catalyst. " But as for the last sentence, you are simply wrong: "The Palestinians felt and still feel that they are paying the price for 2000 years of European racism." Among the ranks of the so-called "anti-Zionist Jews", "peace activists", and "pro-Palestinian Jews", it is clear that by far the most dominant component are the Left wing Ashkenazi elites. During the Mandate Period, the most universalist, Arab-friendly Jewish immigrants were the German Jews of the 5th Aliyah, escaping Nazi persecution, including the Schocken family that bought out and still run Haaretz. Scions of this Aliyah dominate the "post-Zionist intelligentsia", Tom Segev and Uri Avnery being salient examples. One side of my family are descended from Ashkenazi Jews from the Balkans, the other from regional Near Eastern Arabic-speaking Jews. I am familiar with the traditions and attitudes of both types of communities. The fact of the matter is the Sephardic "Edot haMizrach" component of the Israeli population (Middle East, Caucasus, North Africa) are, hands down, the most nationalistic and traditionalist, and least likely to emigrate from Israel. I have an aunt that hasn't left the country on vacation in 57 years, and not for lack of money. Sephardic Mizrachi Jews frequently conduct business with Arabs and are familiar with Arab culture and feel at home in a Middle Eastern environment. However, they are more likely to resent Arabs as a collective or agree to territorial compromises than the Ashkenazim. Part of the resentment is due to the fact that when they lived under Arab/Islamic rule, they towed the line and kept their mouths shut, and when they were hounded out of the Arab world and their properties and businesses taken, they saw themselves as "going up" to freedom in Israel, despite the difficulties, and loathed the term "refugees". On the other hand, the Palestinian refugees were always treated as pawns by corrupt Arab governments, a situation perpetuated by the UN which have granted the Palestinians a unique status of including refugees' descendants as bona fide refugees.
11. "Never Again" what a JOKE
Dr. Dave ,   NYC   (05.01.08)
Never in the recent history of the Jewish people have so many Jews faced a holocaust. And WHY? Because TRAITORS sit in the Knesset and do the bidding of the ayatollahs each and every single day. They sell out the Jewish people like kapos in a concentration camp working for the extermination of their fellow Jews. And the Jews THEMSELVES? Like sheep awaiting slaughter , Israelis allow these egomaniacs Olmert, Livni & Barak to sell them down the river for a few moments of false prestige. 'Never Again' has proved to be nothing more than an empty slogan worthy of the likes of a an empty politician.
12. #1: how 'bout hundreds of dead babies and their mothers?
khalid ,   gaza city   (05.01.08)
13. never again means never see you again
teflon moslem ,   kufa iraq   (05.01.08)
Every body will die some how or some where so watch what you wish for somtimes they come true meaning the wishes
14. nice speech but that cultural & political attitude is dead
zionist forever   (05.01.08)
Today its surrender is the best policy. At least if we surrender then they wont hurt us anymore and we didnt have to go through the hassle of trying to defend and our interests to get them to leave us alone. We just tell ourselves if we just make enough concesions and dont make to much trouble for them then our enemies will decide not to try hurt us anymore. We look for the easy way out even if that easy even if we have to sacrifice our best interests to solve the problem the easy way. The oslo culture has been drummed into us so much we believe in it. In Lebanon there was a shortage of basics for reserves. To save money the army hadnt fitted systems to tanks that would have protected against anti tank rockets becasuse year after year we cut the millitary budget because oslo was going to be our saviour, we would make all the concesions the enemyg wanted then they would leave us alone and there would be no need to spend money defending ourselves. If Entebbe happened today we wouldnt send comandos half way around the world to save our people and make the ones who tried to hurt us pay a heavy price we would say what can we give you if you will please be nice and let our people go. Today we want to just fit in with everybody else and if you want to just fit in then you will be taken advantage of and seen as a sign of weakness because you want to be like everybody else. Your not somebody who is willing to be individual and fight for what you believe in or what you have you will allow yourself to be taken advantage of so you can stay part of the crowd.
15. Uzi Arad, the demagoge
Smith ,   TA, Israel   (05.01.08)
Out of the ashes and grief of the misery come demagoges who are no better than our enemies. Men who take any opportunity to invoke the basest feelings in their neighbours. Uzi Arad is such a man. On a day for quiet reflection. On a day for contemplation. On a day for grieving and remembering comes drivel like this. For me Never Again not only includes us Jews but any people facing extermination for their beliefs, nationality, or any other reason. Our destiny is to be a light unto nations. Not the Paranoid, Frieghtened Ones, Armed to the Teeth Convinced Everyone Hates Them from the Middle East. Let's save that title for the terrorists. And finally Uzi, if you had a gun to your head (Oppenheimer) you too would continue your work although you morally objected to it (as he did). And you overstate Weiztman's influence. And, simply put, you leave a bad taste in my mouth.
16. What Germans Paid? Ever hanged a single NAZI?
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (05.01.08)
What did Germany paid ? Is any Nazi executed for "Holocaust" Instead let me remind, you collaborate with a Nazi who is responsible for Polish Masscres of "Jews" 100,000 Israeli collaboration with Ex nazis are published here and elsewhere as official disclosures, But you kill a single arab who kill a jew, I only conclude from this Masscre of Polish Jews was in fact A collaboration with Zionists, they cleanised impurities in Jews, they were mixed blood and Nazis do job for Zionists! Tell me how can otherwise almost all Prominant Nazist lost their trace in Americe when all World was against Nazism and Nazis lost the war. Explanation: I do not deny Holocaust , it was Eugenics of ZIONISTS to clear mixed blood jews!
17. 16 ... stop talking crap
zionist forever   (05.02.08)
Eugenics of zionists to remove mixed blood jews .. what planet do you come from to come up with all this crap. There were some jewish colaberators in every war you get colaberators .. there are plenty of palestian colaberators are they doing that because they want to cleanse the eugenics of mixed blood palestians? There are alot of ex Nazis where were given imunity by allied countries who after the war in return for this imunity and new life would use the knowladge to help the country thats given this imunity both Soviet and American space programs have their foundations in the help given by ex Nazi scientists who were involved in German rocket programs. The ones who were given their imunity had nothing to do with zionism or any other political cause it was about what they could provide America with based on their skills.
18. NEVER AGAIN is no more !
A.C.Guard ,   USA   (05.02.08)
Neither Israel's leaders and perhaps its citizens have the will to insure Never Again never happens again. The country will lost piece by piece from outside and within.
19. Never again!
Casiopea ,   Spain   (05.02.08)
The author is right. Now you are able to defend yourselves. Do it please. G-d bless the Jewish people.
20. shoah
Prof. Mel Alexenberg ,   Petah Tikva, Israel   (05.01.08)
Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. In recognition of this day of remembrance, I have updated my Future Holocaust Memorials blog, http://www.futureholocaustmemorials.org, to make everyone aware that remembering the Holocaust is not enough. We must all act to prevent a second Holocaust as Iran threatens to wipe Israel off the map while racing ahead creating weapons to carry out the threat. Please widely disseminate my Future Holocaust Memorials blog that cries out “Never Again!” http://www.futureholocaustmemorials.org is a work of webart created in the tradition of Picasso’s Guernica extended into our networked times. The Rhizome ArtBase at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York has honored it as an exemplary work of webart by archiving it in its permanent collection.
21. Never Again
Jason ,   Zichron Yacov   (05.02.08)
Bring back the proud days of Golda Meir , Menachem Begin and Yitzak Shamir . They were not afraid to call a rose , a rose, by any other name.

23. A Clear Message to All Jews ... From GAZA
Jalal ,   Gaza   (05.02.08)
as a human i'm fully sympathized with you i hope u all and yr children can have a better life all the time and i wondered how could a people like u (well known the meaning of sufferance) treat us like that. every day idf kills our children (by mistake) thank u
24. Jalal in Gaza - good post but....
Gimpel the Fool ,   Jhb, S.A.   (05.02.08)
Jalal, you see we do want the same things. We don't want the IDF to have to do what it does, especially when things go wrong and innocent people die. When that happens, us Jews worldwide cringe. But when your people do it, don't you celebrate in the streets and hand out candy? When your leaders stop teaching your children hatred and the majority of your people and all muslims have an attitude like you do in hoping we all have a better life, than we will make progress, because Israel won't have to respond to the attempts by the Arabs to destroy her, and G-d willing, we can live in peace then. But I must say, you guys have a long way to go, and I don't know if you can get there!
25. #10 Jake
Said ,   London, UK   (05.02.08)
I read your post ,but didn't quite get it. I'm not sure what you're trying to say, so correct me if I'm wrong. Basically, that there were a lot of European Jews that were friendly to Arabs and that it is the Arabs' fault that the Palestinians have been displaced? If that's the case, then I can't disagree with you more: the Arabs didn't try to make a new state by dispossessing the Palestinians!
26. #23 JALAL AND THE ROCKETS?
petra ,   USA   (05.02.08)
WILL YOUR SYMPATHY EXTEND AS FAR AS TO STOP THE ROCKETS THAT CAUSE YOU MORE DEATHS? EMPTY WORDS, UNLESS YOU ELECT A PEACEFUL PARTNER INSTEAD OF MORE WAR AND ROCKETS.
27. for the sake of honour
leo solomon ,   israel   (05.02.08)
#4 SAID-The Palestinian Arabs accepted Turkish oppression for 400 years ,brutal Egyptian oppression for 19 years,Hashemite domination for 86 years- and now they accept the corrupt ,brutal and deranged governance from their own venal leaders-who openly brag about their use of their own people as human bombs and shields but -in the cause of a sick conception of honour- theywould rather die than allow the Jews to live and live free and decent productive lives thamselves.
28. #25, not only tried but succeeded
Danny   (05.02.08)
Egypt conquered and annexed the Gaza Strip, Jordan conquered and annexed the West Bank and East Jerusalem - both expelling ALL Jews from those areas(or at least the ones they didn't massacre first, think Gush Etzion). If one believes their propaganda they were trying to form a brand, spanking new state of Palestine by dispossessing[read massacring] the Jews who lived there. Note that the PLO charter still states that all Jews not resident "before the Zionist invasion" have to leave. More likely is the Arabs having been victorious would have fought over the land and the Palestinians would still be "dispossessed" but facing people like Hafez Al-Assad and King Hussein, who knew who to put down "intifadas".... permanently.
29. khalid's comments
ernie ,   usa   (05.02.08)
Without disputing your numbers, couldn't the same be said of Israeli casualties with the indiscriminate suicide bombings of the past 15 years? Wake up and clear your eyes and mind!
30. arming them, releasing them from prison, giving them Land
David Appletree ,   Galus   (05.02.08)
yeah, that ought to show our enemies that we mean business! if Israel meant business, Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Iran's nuke development, etc.--- would be wiped out completely by now, but i suppose it is more important talking about "meaning business" than showing the world through our actions that WE MEAN BUSINESS--
