1. 60 sites
scharman ,   jerusalem   (05.11.08)
Don't underestimate the # of Haredi English speaking citizens here in Israel who probably plug into your site -because the English is just easier- You offend in your picture of Mea Shearim [# 34] by showing a very overweight person-there are many other pictures you could have chosen, and this was obviously "a dig"-Moreover, the people who populate Mea Shearim are not remmants of the past but a vibrant expression [one among many] that represent current Jewish religious life, which is quite alive today and varied in its multi-facited expressions. Too bad this attitude by the press persistently continues, but it's a matter of time until this too will be revealed and will be changed-

3. 23. Hai-Bar Yotvata Nature Reserve
kobi   (05.12.08)
"Natural habitats for tigers"! no matter how many times you tell an israeli, he or she will always insist on calling a leopard/panther a "tiger"! i know it's "namer" in both cases, but we don't have tigers in israel, the nearest they are found is iran, and most of them live in bangladesh! great article, thanks!
4. Pleasant Surprise..
Rami ,   Nazareth, Israel   (05.12.08)
From the title, I was almost certain anything not jewish related was not going to be make the list. To my pleasant surprise, right from the beginning, the # 1 Israeli site was an Arab Village and was made sound more Israeli than Tel Aviv. Nazareth and Mount Tabor made the list, I did not know that jews even visited the Stella Maris church. Anyhow, we are all destined to live together in this tiny place called Israel glad to see minorities did not get ignored.
5. Tal Sagi, would you mind ,please, stop comparing Israel to NY?
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (05.12.08)
This is bs. Israel is Israel;NY is NY. Understand?
6. #4 didn't you notice it's alphabetical?
rpc ,   modiin, israel   (05.27.08)
The list wasn't in order of importance - it's alphabetical
7. I've been to 59 of them!
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (05.28.08)
8. #7gam ani!
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (06.04.08)
9. Meah Shearim
Avraham ,   NYC   (06.18.08)
Meah Shearim is just one of the manifestations of vibrant religious Jewish life in Israel; not remnants or a tribute to the past, religious Jews are going and will become the majority of Israel, G-d willing. Why is it that often Yediot Aharonot depics awkward photos of Orthodox Jews that are not representative of a cross-section of this sector? It's as though you have an agenda of some sorts to malign hundreds of thousands of hareidi Jews in Israel and to further enhance stereotypes that prejudiced, uneducated people have in their little heads.
10. How could you forget Maarat HaMachpela?
Negev Girl ,   Metar, Israel   (06.20.08)
How could you forget the Tomb of the Patriarchs, Rachel's Tomb and the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem? Or Tsfat? A little of our ancient history which justifies and explains our modern presence here would be nice to see on the list. Nice start but there are so many MORE places.
11. he did not forget one place you mentioned
Irit   (09.18.10)
Safed is Tsfat
12. #7 & #8
steve   (05.11.11)
