Now they the arabs compare Arik Sharon to the terrorist Nasrallah but without condemnation. No children and woman are killed??No suffering without food and medicine. No comparison with the shaoh,The FM Saud Al-Faisal talks but means nothing. The arab nations look on andapplaud the show of strength.
2. This is absolutely hilarious.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (05.13.08)
Prince Saud al-Faisal says that Hezbollah wants to "impose" Islamic rule - a strange statement, considering that this is exactly what his regime does in his own country, not to mention that they export jihadi ideology all over the world. So what is Hezbollah doing that his own regime doesn't do? What he means is that Hezbollah will impose Shi'ia Islam instead of Sunni Islam. The Syrian representative, not to be outdone in sheer double-talk also put in a few good lines. Syria, which is a dictatorship of a small minority sect of Alawites (who may or may not even be Muslims) ruling over a majority Sunni population, is allied with Shi'ia Iran but is worried that the legitimate government of Lebanon is not representative. He's worried that "your position favours a small group" of Lebanese. Even funnier, he maintains that this is an internal matter - yet Syria is responsible for arming Hezbollah, assassinating Lebanese opposition figures, & trying to annex Lebanon. Of course, after all the BS rhetoric & posturing, they will do absolutely nothing, except perhaps have a nice lunch. They couldn't even manage to issue a condemnation of Hezbollah. But Arab Unity was preserved by the usual "Israel is the enemy" statements. What would they do without us?
3. Headline proves...
sober middle!   (05.13.08)
If you go far enough left you end up right and if you go far enough right you end up left! Cause otherwise there is really no way to compare between this evil being and Mr. Sharon!
4. Al-Faisal is mistaken...
Chatich   (05.13.08)
It is actually the limp noodle Olmert who most resembles Sharon right now - comatose, unresponsive, with a little stream of saliva dribbling down his chin; basically, a useless lump who's only alive at all because of life support. Metaphorically speaking, of course. It would, however, be nice if we could also relegate Nasrallah to the same condition, any time soon. Literally speaking, of course...
5. Saudi is the crux of many problems.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (05.13.08)
Their wealth and manipulation knows no bounds. They have the US and most of the world in their back pocket and everyone wants to cozy up to them because they spread their largesse wisely to get the maximum for their Islamic currency. They encourage extremism and build institutions that spread their brand of radical Islam. In total, Saudi is a destructive force because it has the façade of reasonableness with very dark intentions at its core as explained at : http://xrl.us/bizzs
6. Sowdi dishonors Sharon
Millie ,   Israel   (05.13.08)
Sharon was a great general. Nazirallah is nasty terrorist slob.
7. SINCE WHEN WAS LEBANON AN ARAB STATE?
stude ham   (05.13.08)
and why would an arab force be the preferred foreign occupying force? arab forces are not particularly welcome in many other countries... such as SUDAN... at one time lebanon had a lot of christian people... is lebanon still a country? in any case this is one idea that has got to be laughed out of existence.
8. Crying for Lebanon why...Saudis ?
AlbertoGa ,   Houston, Texas   (05.13.08)
Saudis had a lot of time to make a real and honest Peace with Israel. Talking about Sharon and Lebanon now is a Super Big Joke. The Saudis have a big fat Cat ready to eat them Now > > > I R A N
9. Look who is talking about legitimate government. It is Syria
Kareem ,   Washington DC, USA   (05.13.08)
Of All countries in the world Syria should be the last one to talk about legitimacy. The Allawites do not add up to 10% of the Syrian population yet have been governing for longer than anyone cares to remember. Comparing it to the Siniora government that is democratically elected and still has more than half the Lebanese support is utterly ridiculous. A day will come when those butchers in Syria will learn a thing or two about legitimacy.
10. #2 are you always that good in twisting the words?
observer   (05.13.08)
to say imposing Islamic rule on all of Lebanon is like saying imposing Jewish rule on all of Palestine. to say Hezbollah will impose Shi'ia Islam instead of Sunni Islam is like saying Neutri Karata or Karaite Jews will impose their view of Jewishness over the Jews majority in Israel.
11. Hizbullah is looking to impose Islamic rule on all of Lebano
Park Deer   (05.13.08)
So what is the Saudi Regime imposing on Saudi Arabia. I say Iran has more religion freedom than Saudi Arabia! At least there are functioning churches and synagogues in Iran. At least women in Iran can drive.
12. Never have been non-muslim citizens in Saudi Arabia
observer   (05.13.08)
Lebanon is a multi-religion state; Lebanese do not have to follow the Saudi example
13. Yes!, both of them eat and pee
