Qatar talks: Hizbullah refuses to discuss laying down arms    Reuters
1. Good Idea=Israel keeps Golan&Syria keeps Lebanon,hey Fadi?
Alan ,   SA   (05.17.08)
2. NEW ELECTION LAW MOST IMPORTANT FOR LEBANON
For Israel, the most important issue is disarming Hezbollah, but for Lebanon the most important issue is a new election law to implement genuine democracy, as provided for in the Taif peace agreement but not implemented these past 19 years. A genuine census should also be taken in Lebanon, to determine just how strong the various sects are in share of population. It's very likely that Shi'ites are more than 1/3 of the population, and with their allies considerably more. They should be entitled to the share of the cabinet they are seeking. If Lebanon had fair elections they would get their fair share of power through that means, but Lebanon doesn't have fair elections. A fair election law should be Lebanon's number one priority. The people in power are clinging desperately to their undemocratic edge, and the US is assisting them because it can pull their strings and because they are friendly to Israel..

3. Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora :
We had thought that Israel is the source of the imminent threat to our country… but the present experience shows that our homes and democratic system are gripped by brethren who believe in armed violence,” said Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora. "We and the Lebanese People do not accept that Hizbullah and its weapons remain in the present status. None of us is neutral. The nation will not retain its normalcy until Hizbullah is convinced that only the Lebanese people can guarantee its security through the state.” More about Lebanon : http://xrl.us/bkest

12. 10, freedom; re 5's 'MEANINGLESS' post
In case you have not seen these posts before, lidia from Brisi, Australia, always has meaning in her posts. They are consistently filled with anti-Semitic slurs and classic xenophobic rhetoric. Although they are NEVER balanced, nor do they ever offer tangible solutions to the problems at hand, reading through the lines, lidia comes across as one of the many Lebanese new 'Australians' who vents her hatred of anything Jewish, such as the State of Israel, from her new-found freedom-loving haven down-under, from where she spouts hateful venom. She is anything but Australian (except maybe on paper). Poor Aussies, sucha great country they have (had), slowly be spoiled by people arriving with much baggage!
