1. Hypocrisy... what else?
Enzo ,   london,uk   (05.29.08)
From ADL (TODAY): German Medical Honor of Nazi MD an Outrage! A German medical association honored a former Nazi SS doctor accused of sending hundreds of disabled patients to their deaths as part of the Nazi euthanasia program during the Holocaust. ADL, which has worked for years to hold the doctor accountable for his Nazi involvement and has been frustrated by the Bavarian authorities' reluctance to bring him to justice, expressed outrage over the decision to honor him.
2. To 1. You really mean that??
Dorothea Killus ,   Lörrach, Germany   (05.29.08)
Dear Enzo in London! It hurts to read as the first reaction to such an article such a comment. Moreover, it refers in no way to what is written in it. As we in Germany are so excited to celebrate with the people of Israel in this special year, and as we are so deeply thankful for God watching over them, and as many of us accompany them with our prayers: Do you really mean to say we are hypocrites?
3. Of course we are no...

hypocrites, at least not more than the people in all other countries. I strongly support ADL's criticism that a nazi war criminal shall be honored by some obscure medical organization. This 'doctor' belongs to jail, and nothing else. But in fact the Germans and Germany are not a monolithical block. "The Germans" as a block, all with the some opinion, exist only in some cheap WWII-black-white movies. Today's Germany has a very differentiated society. You'll always find bad news if you are looking for. Of course there are some nazis, psychopaths or idiots around – as you can find them in every other country on this planet as well... So relax... ;-)
4. Germany is Israel's best buddy.

5. the talk is good; but why all the ACUTAL support for iran?
dante ,   uk   (05.30.08)
the sentiments of frienship and support are just wonderful. but, while the FRG is sending verbal support to Israel, it is sending CONCRETE, MATERIAL SUPPORT to the vicious regime in tehran. now, which of these two positions is a reflection of the policy of the FRG? the pleasant words or the ugly deeds? of course, the germans support the anti-Semites in tehran. it is a disgrace. it is a crime.
6. Please Say You'll Support Israel UNCONDITIONALLY
Wisconsin Marshall ,   USA   (05.30.08)
In all statements appearing in English-language Israeli online news sites, upper-level German officials always say they support Israel "alongside a Palestinian state." By conditioning it in a realpolitik way, it sounds insincere. Just another foreign policy position. Germany has a responsibility to support the Jewish people unconditionally.

Unfortunately the news of the German medical association honoring a former Nazi SS doctor got in the way this morning. Obviously the news of Germany honoring Israel's 60th is a great news...! And we all know that Merkel and her government are good friends of Israel!
