1. Olmert and Barak have Abandoned Sderot
Pete ,   Bat Yam   (06.03.08)
subpoenas for court dates within 21 days time will be served by the Sderot police. Those with dates over that period will be sent by registered mail with a confirmation slip." No good, it's too dangerous to go to the Post Office to pick them up!
2. ikea wont deliver to sderot
gilbydavid   (06.03.08)
The poor people in the towns surrounding Gaza are also second class citizens in the eyes of Ikea. They will only deliver to these regions with a hefty surcharge. they can have their homes destroyed as part of Isarel, but they cant buy new furniture....
3. If this can happen to Sderot ...
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (06.03.08)
Then, eventually, it can happen to all of us. Our public officials have no problem, evidently, in abandoning us to our fate. So do other Israelis - as long as it's not happening to them. Soliderity seemingly is only a word empy of meaning, good only to make a speech sound good & then quickly forgotten. If "every man for himself" becomes the guiding ethos of the country, we will soon have no country.
4. Left-wing courts opt for stupidity
Millie ,   Israel   (06.03.08)
We always knew the court system's priorities were skewed - but this screwed up?
5. I'm speechless!!!
Talula ,   Israel   (06.03.08)
This is absolutely ludicrous!! The poor people of Sderot need our support more than ever. I’m speechless! The next thing we know we’ll all be banned from going down south. It’s unacceptable!! I know one thing for sure, my boy is in Gaza and his mama will continue to take him schnitzel in the pita on the weekends – no rockets are going to stop me doing that for him!!! Once again, our government needs to hang its head in shame.
6. Speechless!
Talula ,   Israel   (06.03.08)
The people who are in Sderot have stood strong under a barrage of daily rockets. The majority did not move away but stayed and suffered. You'd think the government would bend over backwards to thank them for the way they have remained steadfast. But alas, No! They have decided that a court appointed employee’s life is more important than that of a Sderot resident’s life. I think I’m gonna throw up now. The government is surely made up of many sub-penis if you ask me.
7. Whats happening to our society that we think
Vicky ,   Ashkelon, Israel   (06.03.08)
its ok to treat our fellow man in such a way. Where is our Patriotism? My heart goes out the residents of Sderot, I for one will boycott anything from IKEA after this and any other company that refuses to deliver to Sderot and surrounding area. Olmert, Peres and Barak have a lot to answer for. Zionism is gone, and people tend to forget, its because of Zionists that we have our country back after 2000 years. Now they want to give it away peice by peace. SUPPORT SDEROT, IT WILL BE ASHKELON, ASHDOD AND TEL-AVIV NOT FORGETTING THE GOLAN NEXT.
8. Courts
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.03.08)
I always thought the rabid antipathy to the Right wing and fanatical support for "human rights" of Arab militants of the "justice system" could be fixed by forcing the Supreme Court to meet in Sderot instead of Jerusalem. This article proves I was right.
9. State disengaging from Sderot
I.Kemp ,   Nahariya Isreal   (06.03.08)
What do you expect under this government ? If people complain, fine ,but just make sure it is done at the ballot box as well with the biggest crushing defeat of any party (Kadima and Labour ) in the history of the state. Ensure that it buries both parties for ever . They are not fit for public office
10. Cry the beloved country.
Sidney ,   USA   (06.03.08)

13. sderot dangerous?
elliot ,   point roberts,usa   (06.03.08)
isn't the government's responsibility to make it safe -obviouly first for israelis-residents or not?where isn't it dangerous in israel or soon to be?twill this kind of response to terror make israel any safer--the people in sderot deserve full support and more
14. didn't this traitorous gangster promise us disengagement?
chaim schonbrun ,   brooklyn ny   (06.03.08)
if i remmember correctly, this criminally insane traitor ehud olmert when he ran for elections, promised, disengagement, well he is just keeping his promise, you were disengaged from kush katif, and now from sderot and ashkelon, ans soon from tel aviv and jerusalem citizens of israel if you won't get rid of this piece of human garbage immediately you can all start packing your bags, and dont forget to close the lights behind you
15. An official acknowledgement of the Abandonment of Sderot!
George Iversen ,   South Orange, NJ USA   (06.03.08)
Last year, I spent 3 weeks volunteering in Sderot through Ruach Tova ( http://www.ruachtova.org/ ) due to an appeal for volunteers in the activism channel of YNET, the rockets fired into Sderot every day is a war crime. However there has been no response from the government except to abandon Sderot and its people. The public advice from the Bush Administration has been to exercise restraint, i.e. abandon Sderot. Rather than placing Sderot off limits to Court personnel, the Court should move its operations to Sderot. Court personnel should be used to aid the police and the city. it is terrible that the Court has chosen to increase the burdens faced by the citizens of Sderot.
