Simply cuz a resource, land or water or whatever, is valuable to a nation, in no way means that nation can simply take and occupy it. Rich, you don't speak for all Americans. Syria attacked Israel without justification, and in a war, lost its land. The Golan was Jewish land thousands of years ago, and hopeful it will be forever. By the way, the Israeli economy is one of the world's leading emerging markets, including all the areas you mention, as is evidenced by the investment flow into Israel now.
