Israel is not so stupid as to reveal a plan. It seems more likely Israel wanted to leak information or to manipulate Abu Quisling Abbas. In this case, Israel has succeeded in getting Abu Quisling to talk to Hamas, thus putting himself on bad terms with Washington. In this way Israel has a perfect excuse for not negotiating seriously with Abu Quisling.

Re-taking of the Gaza Strip is good, except for the gradual of returning power to Abbas. He can't hang on to and Israel will be back to square one. I would be waching my back also. It could been seen as a way to divide your forces. Syria and Hizbollah could use this for a two prong attack from the north ....and I could see Iran getting stupid before it is all over.
