The number one job of government is to protect the safety of its residents. Considering that Ben Gurion saw the Negev as Israel's future, abandonment of this vital area means that Israel will never fulfill its destiny. More importantly, I wouldn't blame Negev residents if they became Yordim. If the pause is to strengthen military plans while giving a truce one more chance, then the govt. is correct in holding off on military action. You might try to look up Psalms 83... Psalms is one of the books of the writings writtin at the time of king david ...Yet it speaks very clearly to the current mid-east crisis ....right down to the statements and countries arrayed against israel... it may not be proof but it certianly is worth concidering.... by the way virtualy all of the Jewish tanach was found amongst the dead sea scrolls with the exception of the book of esther.....and word for word were identical....any errors were either stylistic or an occasional mispelling.... the scrolls date to a hundred or more years before christ.....
