While killing Bin Laden is an excellent idea, Al-Qaeda just is not that important anymore. Killing him would be more of a symbolic gesture with few practical consequences. The time to kill Bin Laden was before 9/11. Focusing on Al-Qaeda is used to justify the "small group of extremist" theory when the problem is really mainstream Islam. Iran is the real problem. Of course, killing Bin Laden will not disturb the oil market. Nor does it risk a wider conflict. In other words, killing Bin Laden carries few risks at all. So, Bush is just avoiding the real threat & attempting to cover it up with what is basically a publicity stunt. Typical politician .....
