Don't kid yourself. Most Jews and Arabs live in Israel peacefully together - and even like the fact that each brings so much culture to one little country. Don't believe all you read.
33. to Millie #4: As an Israeli-Arab, I agree with you
Rami ,   Nazareth, Israel   (06.23.08)
Israeli-Arab do need to stop voting for these radical parties and stop supporting their separatist views. Please note that many Israeli-Arabs also vote for Zionist parties, like labor, kadima, even likud.. many more don't vote at all because they stopped believing in the system. On the other hand the state should extend its hand and support the moderates in the arab public instead of alienating this large minority
34. GREAT
Mwaqar ,   New York/USA   (06.23.08)
I always said its the stupid politicians who are responsible for this mess and innocent people getting killed on both sides,a person on street wants to live peacefully and enjoy equality and respect,in America millions of people from differant religions, customs, nations live together why not in Israel, its possible if politicians on both sides use their honesty.
35. But do those 77% still consider themselves Palastinian?

If you wont accept a land swap what are you going to do if as part of any deals with the palestians Israel swaps land. An arab town for a settlement? The government might be corupt but its governments that make policies and if they decide they are going to swap land what are you going to do. You either move away or you accept that your homes are now going to be part of the palestians state your no longer going to be living in Israel. Peres has also in the past talked about building more jewish settlements in the Galalee and Negev in an attempt to judaise them What are you going to do if the government starts encouraging jews from the yishuv to come and sette in parts of the country where arabs are currently the majority and you will find yourselves surounded by a jewish majority?
39. # 8: The silent majority of Israeli-Arabs are like that
Rami ,   Nazareth, Israel   (06.23.08)
Unfortunatly, the media only covers Israeli-Arabs in a negative aspect and completely ignores the silent majority. We Israeli-Arabs love our contry, Israel. This is where we want to raise our children and see our future, living together with our fellow jewish countrymen.

zionist forever   (06.23.08)
All the latest polls show that the jews are having more children than arabs, the law of returns allows jews to make alliyah and there will be no palestian right of return. If the politicians do some kind of land swaps with the palestians then it will be to get alot of arabs off our hands. The arab population may grow but there are alot more jews and they are also going to be having children the only sure way for the arabs to become the majority would be if Israel allowed the palestian right of return which even Olmert doesnt have the courage to accept.
41. What Kareem from Egypt doesn't understand...
Alexander ,   Herzliya, Israel   (06.23.08)
....is that Israel never WAS the homeland of Israeli Arabs and there is no cultural distinction between "Palestinian" Arabs and other Arabs, and in fact most of the Israeli Arabs have lived here for only 60-150 years and came as a result of Jewish immigration and return to the land. The Arabs of Israel came here 60-150 years ago from North Africa and the lands later on known as Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Tunisia and Marocko. For 1400 years of "Arab" existence, the "Arabs" never showed any particular interest for Israel, neither in the Koran nor in practice. Another thing you Kareem do not seem to understand, is that Israel is MY homeland and not Arab property. The Arab reluctance to recognize Israel as a distinct ethnic Jewish/Israelite/Hebrew nation state is the MAIN ISSUE that causes friction and conflict all the time between Israelis and Arabs. The reluctance of Arabs to finally accept the Jewish homeland is the primary reason for the continuation for this conflict. Now, if you please, mind your own business and keep out of Israeli affairs.
