Ok lets say that there would be enough meat in Israel to sustain a population. It doesn't change things law is still law. It is law written in peoples hearts that says that this is wrong. Complicated wrangling doesn't change it. When people allowed to eat meat they were given lots of responsibility. Part of that was to cause as little suffering as possible. If get too far away from this, then can revert back to old law in which there is no meat eating. So they are ok in closing plants with lots of problems down.
