2. Alex,you know the answer, and so does the whole country
chaim ,   brooklyn ny   (07.08.08)
and the simple answer is,that this criminally insane traitorous pathetic coward, who masquarades as israels prime minister,is actually working for our enemies, and is working day and night towards the complete destruction of his own country citizens of israel GET RID of this monster IMMEDIATELY,or lose your lives and your country
3. Fortification
Gershon ,   USA   (07.08.08)
Here is the way to avoid fortification: Destroy Hamas now. Don't wait for them to build up their strength. Invade Gaza, and stay as long as it takes to get rid of them, and get Gilad Shalit back. Sooner or later, an all-out operation will have to be done. Of course, this all depends on getting a new government in Israel who are not cowards and corrupt.
4. Because we have a DO NOTHING PM, & his name is NOLMERT!
Rueben ,   Israel   (07.08.08)
5. Because PM Olmert is a post-Torah Jew
Mr Lincoln ,   usa   (07.08.08)
He no longer has the wisdom of the sages guiding him. He has only other leftist, confused, corrupt government people to rely on.
6. I weep for Israel
Joseph Kaufman ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.08.08)
The Ehudim (Barak and Olmert) are the hallmark of the utter and complete bankruptcy of Israeli political, moral, and ethical legitimacy. It could be that the system in Israel is too screwed up to fix: Imagine, even now, academics and Israeli's of good will defend the decision making institutions, claiming that that Israel is a democracy, when any sane observer recognizes that Israel is as 'democratic' as any former soviet or north korean republic. Indeed, the founding fathers viewed party dictatorships as democracies. Fatal flaws in the system have led to our downfall. So long as self serving party hacks maintain a strangle hold on party representation, so long as Knesset members are beholding to their party's central committee more than they are to the people who voted the party into power, Israel is doomed. Look about you. Look at the outcome. Look at the quality of decision making. Look at the alternatives. Weep. And if you have a foreign passport, consider escaping before it is too late.

9. Joseph #6: Is is possible the Jews like this government?
Steve ,   Fla.   (07.08.08)
You fault the system but I wonder if Israel's Jews, deep down, like this prime minister as well as this government. It is said the people get the government they deserve. I believe this to be the case in America. Last week we read a poll done in Israel Israel. According to YNet, B’nai B’rith survey shows vast majority of Jewish Israelis believe government should not take Diaspora Jewish opinion into consideration when deciding on border changes. In other words the Jews in Israel agree with Ehud Olmert. Concessions of Jewish land need to be made to the jihadist enemy irrespective of warnings from Diaspora Jews. Ehud Olmert's and Kadima's opinion is more valuable to the Jews in Israel than Diaspora Jews' opinions notwithstanding the suicidal nature of our government. Seems to some us here on the outside looking in, the vast majority of Jews in Israel are satisfied with the status quo. Look at a couple of the responses from Jews in Israel: 1. Money from the Diaspora Jews, YES, but opinions, NO (End) Miriam , Israel (07.01.08) 6. Move to Israel if you'd like to participate Otherwise, send us money. People in the Diaspora make much more money than we can, so help. But one can never understand the complexities of this country until actually living, working and being here for something other than a vacation or study-abroad, so why should an opinion of someone living outside of the country help decide which street Jersualem should be divided on? Eli , Jerusalem (07.01.08)
10. That's right? What's taking so long to overthrow this corrup

11. Why are we doing nothing?
Yonatan ,   Jerusalem   (07.08.08)
We are not doing nothing, it only looks thats way, stratagem is the name of the game, you see with artist's like our 3 stooges the Iranians honestly believe they are safe, that nobody can touch them, do you see the picture yet? ok I won't keep you in suspense any longer, after Israel kicks Iran so hard that the Iranians will think Judgment day has come, it is our governments estimation that Hamas along with Hizballah will throw down their weapons and run like the cowards they are. simple no?
12. even gazans do not like hamas
alex ,   Hamasstan   (07.08.08)
not only your goverment doing nothing but also the PA do nothing about hamas and its control of gaza we in gaza donot understand what is going on ? is there an end to this crazy situation ?
13. Why are you doing nothing?
(07.08.08)
Open the crossings; its your only part of the truce. No halt of rockets without opening the crossings.
14. The truce is not respected :
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (07.08.08)
The truce is not respected : Israel should uproot Hamas once and for all. Under the circumstances, what is needed is not negotiations with Hamas, but strong military action against it. Israel should not undertake a brief incursion, but a major invasion of Gaza to uproot Hamas once and for all. If the Israeli leadership doesn’t take such action, it risks Hamas growing into an even greater menace to the State of Israel than it is today as described at : http://xrl.us/bmdnh
15. olmert is our robert mugabe
(07.08.08)
16. doing nothing
JL ,   israel   (07.08.08)
our leaders are quite busy...they are not "doing nothing"...they are busy saving money to steal from us..they feel they have nothing to lose and cann only gain...after all...who will suffer?...we will suffer...in the meantime they save off of our backs and fill thier pockets ...and they are thrilled to lead us into oblivion and make money at it!!!
17. Why are we doing nothing........
Millicent ,   Israel   (07.08.08)
Because the government doesn't give a damn about its citizens! They ignored the residents of the North during the Sumer Lebanon war just like it is now ignoring the needs of the citizens of Sderot ! The gov is still ignoring all of us by not redistributing our gas masks that they collected over a year ago, and by not making sure that our shelters are usable, and that every neighborhood has a few big shelters for its residents. It says it is ready to protect us from Iran but when, after we are at war ? This gov. is known for doing nothing for its people that is why we need to rid ourselves before it is too late!
18. TO SAVE ISRAEL
Mike Cato ,   USA   (07.08.08)
..a swift, quiet military coup d'etat is the only thing that can save Israel now. It's "leaders" do not believe in the survival of Israel as a Jewish state--they believe only in their own political survival at any cost--even at the cost of hundreds of thousands of Jewish lives. There is no other choice. At this point, the so-called parliamentary "democracy "in Israel ,will have to be temporarily suspended until such time that competent leaders take the reins of government and/or the present unworkable party system is no more.
19. olmert,is saving the IDF for a much more important task
chaim schonbrun ,   brooklyn ny   (07.08.08)
this criminally insane traitorous gangster, ehud olmert, will not use the IDF to protect the jews living in the south, because he wants to save IDF's firepower for a much more important task, and that is to throw out another 200,000 men women and children from yehuda, shomron and the golan people of israel, get rid of this traitorous swine immediately,or lose your lives and your country
20. #6The Yeshusa you Jews reject wept for Jerusalem too. And it
was for THIS very ,   reason.   (07.08.08)
21. We are doing nothing because thats the governments choice
zionist forever   (07.09.08)
Olmert & Barak didnt accept this so called truce with any ilusions they knew exactly what the result would be from before day 1. For over a month Hamas had been saying we want this truce based on these demands that we eventualy accepted and Olmert & Barak rejected them saying they believed Hamas would use the truce as an oportunity to smuggle. Then Olmert sees election possibilities, he knows he is living on borrowed time and he will soon be forced out od office and be indicted by the police something he has imunity from as PM. He also has his eyes on a nobel peace prize and is willing to give both palestians and Syria just about anything they want if it will lead to a quick peace deal even if it doesnt bring peace and to do this Olmert needs to have the people stop questioning his every move. The solution accept what Hamas call a 6 month truce for tactical purposes. Maybe even get Gilad back quiet on the southern borders & Gilad the man becomes for the short term brilliant and his support will go right up. He knew what he was doing when he accepted this truce and he knew how to get Gilad back so let him continue to know what he is doing. Hamas said before the ceacefire came into effect they would not stop smuggling and they would not hold other palestian groups to it. Olmert & Barak dont want this so called truce to end at any cost because itd good for their careers. It was about keeping this government in power all along not any good will but mistaken ideas that Olmert had that it might lead to peace. The governments not blind it just doesnt want to see.
22. WHO SAID THAT ?
Pepito   (07.09.08)
Why are we doing nothing?---Simply because it's what we are doing BEST....! --As a democracy we rank among the best of the worst --We also have a judicial system to match. Having lived many years in Europe & the US,,I can tell that it's one of the few countries where crooks, criminals, politicians, walk in a coutroom smiling, smoking, drinking coffee, hugging, kissing everybody just like rock stars. --Our "efficient" police dept.? How many times have you seen on TV that the one who went trough a red light, killing/maiming (more Jews than Hamas)had 20. 30, 40 or more citations (israeli badge of honor) considering that we are renown throughout the world as "computer savvy". --I also think that the Israeli banking conglomerate is doing very well, considering the BILLIONS lost, missing, stolen. The latest data: the per capita growth of Millionaires is currently the highest in the "advanced countries"---and the growth of the poor and hungry are reaching new hights. Mm....Maybe I erred, the above shows that we are doing something....!
