31. Seven (7) More . . . "From of Old . . . From Everlasting"
Craig Crawford ,   Laguna Niguel USA   (07.15.08)
Prophecies of Messiah from the TANAKH . . . 1. The Messiah would be born in Bethlehem . . . AND would be ETERNAL ... "But you, O BETHLEHEM Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of JUDAH, Yet OUT OF YOU (Bethlehem) shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth have been from of OLD, FROM EVERLASTING." (Micah 5:2) 2. The Messiah would ride triumphantly into Jerusalem . . . Meek and lowly . . . riding on a donkey: "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion (Israel)! Behold, your King (Messiah) is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, yet He is LOWLY AND RIDING ON A DONKEY." (Zechariah 9:9) 3. Messiah would be both despised by the World and rejected by Israel ... "The Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, To Him whom man (the world) despises, To Him whom the nation (Israel) abhors." (Isaiah 49:7) 4. In Psalm 22 King David prophesied Messiah would be Crucified (Psalm 22 is a prophecy written from the perspective of Messiah hanging from the Cross) . . . "They PIERCED My hands and My feet, They look and stare at Me." (Psalm 22:16, 17) (Written hundreds of years before crucifixion was invented ... and while Israel's official form of execution was stoning.) 5. King David prophesied Messiah would be quickly resurrected (raised from the dead) . . . "For You will not leave my soul in Sheol (Hell), NOR will You allow Your Holy One (Messiah) to see corruption (decompose)." (Psalm 16:10) 6. Messiah would be a Savior to ALL peoples, including both Jews and Gentile alike . . . "I will ALSO give You (Messiah) as a Light to the Gentiles, That You (Messiah) should be My Salvation (saving people from their sins and from Hell) to the ENDS of the Earth." (Isaiah 49:6) 7. Then, after He was Resurrected, Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach in Hebrew) told His Jewish followers . . . "These are the words which I (Jesus ... Yeshua) spoke to you while I was still with you, that ALL things (prophecies) MUST BE FULFILLED which were written in the LAW of Moses and the PROPHETS   and the PSALMS concerning Me (Messiah)." And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures." Then He (Jesus-Yeshua) said to them,  "Thus it is written, and thus it WAS NECESSARY for the MESSIAH to suffer AND to rise from the dead the THIRD day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His Name to all nations, BEGINNING at Jerusalem."   (Luke 24:44-47) Grace and Shalom, www.alphanewsdaily.com www.theprophecies.com
32. The 3 days idea was already in Hosea
Samuel Prime ,   Canada   (07.15.08)
The book of Hosea speaks about being raised on the third day (Hosea 6.1-2), after days of suffering. So the idea well preceded this discovered tablet. Christianity's roots in Old Testament culture, i.e. Judaism, is pretty strong in terms of symbolism, conception, and theology. Christians already pride themselves of that heritage (which was in fact that of Jesus). It is more likely (if the interpretation of the tablet are correct) that the author of the tablet just inherited it from the teachings of the Prophets of Judaism. I see no surprises.
33. Read our Holy Scriptures
Shira Kidron ,   Israel   (07.15.08)
Hey Joe!#21.. I don't see your nail-scarred hands or feet, or your perfect, spotless blood shed for my sins, or did you justify the ungodly just because you have perfect love, I think not! from...Ha Shomer #6.BTW..Messiah was not born in Kislev, try Succot..this is a Jewish boy we are talking about, not a Gentile.
34. 24 , Robert , You can't be a Jew
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.15.08)
while believing in your yeshua . I can't and will not show any respect to someone who is falsely claiming he is Jewish . Is there any true Jewish Rabbi who will accept you as a Jew ? No one will do it . And don't call me your brother , you are'nt .
35. #33 - Shira, What I hear is...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (07.15.08)
What I hear is the collective scream of the people of Israel who has been slaughtered and ethnically cleansed for the past 2000 years by the Romans, the Byzantines, the Catholics, the Slavs, the Muslims, and the Nazis for the simple fact that we are Jews. And unlike this "Jesus of Nazareth" who most likely never existed, our sufferings as a people are REAL and are documented history. I said it before and I'll say it again, there is no non-circumstantial evidence that Jesus of Nazareth ever existed, regardless of what beliefs you cherish...
36. 35 - there is proof of the existence of Jesus
alan ,   providence, ri   (07.18.08)
The (non-Christian) Jewish historian Josephus wrote of the existence of Jesus.

39. Ancient texts
Connie ,   Virginia   (07.30.08)
Ynet, You must not have put this story to the front from the start. I first saw this in Fox news. I went looking for this story but never found until now. Plus Paqid or Rivkah didn't write a tb. Either I missed it or you missed a good opportunity for a bunch of back and forth discussions.
40. Birthday of Christ
White Ranger ,   Canada   (07.31.08)
With a little study you will find that we may celebrate the birth of Jesus on Dec. 25, but that doesn't mean he was born then. It is believed that Dec. 25 could be when he was conceived in the womb.
