31. #20 Can you imagine...
Soeren ,   Cologne/Germany   (07.18.08)
... that the blockade of the Gaza Strip has to do solely with the behaviour of Hamas and plenty of rocket attacks – AFTER the Israelis LEFT the Strip?! Can you imagine that the Palestinians in Gaza could decide about their own fate – wouldn't they love terrorism so much...?!! The Palestinians obviously are not the brightest among the peoples living on earth. By deciding for self destructive silly actions and obviously a complete lack of insight in inevitable consequences – it is no wonder that your students fail...
32. Gazan, you can't have it all!
Ben ,   London, UK   (07.18.08)
You cannot fire rockets and then ask to be treated in Israeli hospital. You have got to take responsibility for your own deeds. Why is it that your elite did not invest in all the medical needs instead of investing in rockets? Why is it that your elite never acts in the best interest of its people and instead acts in the objective of the destruction of Israel? Did you ever asked yourself if Hamas is the sole responsible for putting Gazans in this situation? Why do you think Israel stopped fighting Hizballah 2 years ago? Because the katiusha rockets were endangering the people of Israel. The kind of consideration Hamas will never have for its own people. They rather have you all dead rather than feeling defeated. The Hudna is only for when Hamas is the target. Not for when other Gazans die. No more Hamas and terrorism and Palestinians will get a beautiful and prosper future. And because you do not seem to hate Israel I feel like I can tell you that you should trust that Israel will contribute a lot in the Palestinian's prosperity. I feel for the Gazans' situation. No one would want to live like that but please acknowledge that Hamas put its people in this situation (that's what leadership is baout and not about who's got the weapons). This is how Hamas makes it money, because donations around the world flows ig time when you guys bite the dust. I sincerely wish you a better leadership and situation.
33. To Elie
4WhomTheBellTolls ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (07.18.08)
Shame on you, vomiting all over the place about internal Lebanese issues. I think this is hardly the place to do that. Go instead to Naharnet.com and do it there like the rest of people like yourself. Respect this website and its news
34. Jay,
philip herst   (07.18.08)
Jay, are you slightly retarded? He smashed the girls skull. Who did it...the father??
35. answer to #20
Eliza ,   Israel   (07.18.08)
What you wrote sounds very sad, but have you ever thought of the possibility that if the Palestinians would stop sending rockets into Israel every day then there wouldn't be a reason for a siege in Gaza??????????? I promise that that would be the case, therefore, who is responsible for all those sick Palestinians after all? Sorry to have the truth told. It's always easy to blame the "other side".
36. "Israel invented the girl's murder."
Jake   (07.18.08)
Immediately following his capture, when his remand was extended, Kuntar confessed that he had bludgeoned Einat to death with the butt of his rifle. Later, however, when testifying in court, Kuntar denied the charges. http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/Terrorism-+Obstacle+to+Peace/Terror+Groups/The+Kuntar+File+Exposed+-+Yediot+Aharonot+14-Jul-2008.htm

40. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE KUNTAR TO PASS ON HIS NEW LEGACY
Simha ,   CANADA   (07.18.08)
How long will it take him to change his brothers' minds... BEFORE HE DEPARTS THIS WORLD BY THE HANDS OF ONE OF THEM
41. #28 Amen.

42. In response to #31, and #32
Gazan ,   Gaza   (07.18.08)
Israel only left Gaza in terms of its military presence but they remained in control of all of its crossings and its needs. This doesnt, by any means, mean that Gaza is independant or free. As far as Hamas rockets, all of the Israelis know that these didnt do much of harm at all to Israel in comparison to the tragedy every single Gazan lives in. The average citizen in Gaza can't control Hamas actions. I obviously don't agree with many of what Hamas did cuz it had increadibly harmed the life of many palestinians but on the other hand there is no justification, by any means, for the collective punishment Israel is doing against 1.5 millions of Gaza. I'm a student and I have never was a part of anything to do with politics and I only want to further my education. I didnt even elect Hamas. I have been trying to travel through either Erez or Rafah for 3 months so far and it is useless. The Human Rights Group which is handling my case got this response from the Israeli government "We are sorry but this is case is not humane" I got that after 3 months of waiting to cross to travel to further my education. Now all of you tell me, did any of you ever thought for a second about these kinds if you wanted to travel? Im sure u only care about ur visa, ticket, and luggage but I have to wait for ages and kiss everyone's asses in the world to be allowed to travel and perhaps this is not good enough even. By the way my case is so good compared to hundreds of cases here. I hope ynet publishes this. Thanks
43. to #33
Eliza ,   israel   (07.18.08)
You have just proven to us that there is no free speech in your country. How sad. Do you know how many Israelis criticize their own country, or Americans, or French or any people in democratic countries, without having someone telling them that they shouldn't?? Elie is brave to have done so in the oppressed society in which he lives, you having only proved that now. How sad!!!!
44. to#34, Philip
Eliza ,   Israel   (07.18.08)
Oh poor Philip!! Jay was being sarcastic. I think you need to look to see who is "retarded" here! Poor thing. Next time maybe you'll get it.
45. Dont know lebanon
Sunni ,   Beirut   (07.18.08)
Do not generalise, we as lebaneses we are also suffering from these bunch of islamic fanatics, actually a month and a half ago these idiots were greeting their victory on armless people in Beirut. It is time for all of us to undrstand that there propaganda is all about illusions and dillusions.
46. He is lying. He would take the hostages to Lebanon?
AK   (07.18.08)
We can see in what shape the hostages come back from Lebanon. The beast wants to be a hero and it's tough to be a hero if you slaughter a toddler.
47. #5, #6
AK   (07.18.08)
#5 Kuntar speaks to people like you, just waiting to excuse him and make him a hero and a victim. It cannot be done. He is guilty of murder. #6 Even if one were to assume (and it is a huge if) that he did not smash the head of the girls and murdered her father, he would still be guilty of their deaths, still be a terrorist and could not by any stratch of imagination be considered innocent. He doesn't deny the fact that he enterred Israel armed to take hostages and remember he or one of his team killed a policeman.
48. 45 Sunni - you are also suffering - then why do you as a
tolerate a bunch of ,   islamic fanatics?   (07.18.08)
people
49. #42 No other way out?
nr ,   los angeles, USA   (07.18.08)
Doesn't Gaza share a border with Egypt? Why can't you go out of Gaza country there? Someone please explain.
50. #20, If Israelis treated Arabs as animals ...
AK   (07.18.08)
it is Kuntar who would have come in unrecognizable in a black box, not the Israeli hostages. You think we are all dumb and not see it? Decent people see it the world over, even as the indecent media sells us whitewashed Arab terrorists/activists/poor Palestinians nightly.
51. shame on you for publishing this
josef dobs ,   california   (07.18.08)
why in the world would you publish the remarks of this murderer. it serves no purpose except to give this animal credibility. the power of the media is enormous. you and your media colleagues need to start to raise the bar and realize that you have an ethical and moral responsibilty to choose what you write about. you are being used by the enemies of Israel and western civilizatin and they are playing you like a guitar. please show respect to your so called profession. the printed word can be mightier than the sword and you need to be more responsible
52. Kuntar admires Israels immoral swap.
MrLincoln ,   usa   (07.18.08)
It falls naturally in line with his own immoral thinking. This was an evil trade and no amount of sugar will make it sweet. This is the most corrupt and demoralizing govt in Israeli history, only in Tanach can you find worse.
53. To the Gazan
Bill ,   US   (07.18.08)
The Israeli authorities are correct. You are not a citizen of Israel therefore you do not have a right to be educated there. If you get sick, it isn't your right to be treated in an Israeli facility. I can't show up in a foreign country and expect social benefits when I ask for them. I especially wouldn't demand such things of a country, my elected government is bombing.
54. to 45 ya 5awal why u complain 2 ur enemies about ur brothers
rami   (07.18.08)
55. Life
(07.18.08)
Because we care for life, for democracy, for what´s good in this world. Instead, you arab terrorists, kill for god, kill for your psychopathological illness. you are sick and looneys! that´s why you always lost wars vs Israel. you´re pathetic Long Live Israel
56. tyoical of Stockholm syndrome
observer   (07.18.08)
Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which the hostage has been placed.
57. Very sorry Gazan but ...
Ben ,   London, UK   (07.18.08)
... Kassams does kill, wounds and distraught people's life. Then you have Hamas sniper shooter killing innocents and the kinapping of Guilad and the suicide bombings. I feel very sorry for your situation but only Hamas can change it. Without terrorism you would be studying anywhere you want (and believe me I sincerely wish you would enjoy this amazing opportunity to study abroad). The Palestinians democratically elected Hamas. You may not have voted for them but this was the bit of democracy the Palestinians had which turned into a collective mistake that the people are paying for electing power and war mongers. I really have no idea what people could do to undermine Hamas because I do not live there but I sincerely wish you to have better leadership one day. The type of leaders who's business will be the Palestinian people future and not their personal ego or their own wallets like it is for the Hamas or Fatah people. Maybe you will be this person. Salam aleikum.
58. For all those who are concererned.be enlgithended about Gaza
Gazan ,   Gaza   (07.18.08)
#1. I dont want to be educated in Israel. I only want to travel through either Jordan or Egypt to travel to the country I want to study in. I have all the legal and right documents. #2. Gaza does border Gaza. However, this border is controlled by Egypt ,Israel, and the PA. That was according to 2005 Rafah crossing accords. Since Hamas ruled Gaza, Israel pressurized Egypt to keep Rafah crossing closed and this did happen. #3. I emphasize again. I dont want anything from Israel. Any facility.nothing at all. All I want is to further my education away from this disasterous conflict and I can fund myself and I have all the correct documents and I have nothing to do with Hamas or politics. For God sake, what sort of crime did I make to be preventing from advancing my future? #4: As for Hamas, perhaps only 10% agree with Hamas actions, but they cant change that. these rockets have stopped since June. Did anything change? big "NO" #5. For that guy #54 who called me names cuz I was expressing my view here. I wasnt complaining to the Israelis. I was educating them about the kind of situation here. This kind of enlightement and open mindness can create a kind of mutual understanding and perhaps an atmosphere for ending the suffering of many of our people. You are stupid!
59. In response to all who are concerned.
Gazan ,   Gaza   (07.18.08)
#1. I know I'm not an Israeli and I'm not asking to benefit from any Israeli facilities including education. I only want to travel to another country to further my education (Basically for a PhD). Gaza doesn't have its own airport. It did have years ago but it was demolished by the IDF. Therefore, the only way to travel out of Gaza is through 2 crossings. Erez which lies on the north of Gaza which can lead to Jordan where I can use a Jordanian airport to travel. The other one is called Rafah crossing which borders Egypt. Through this one I can get to Egypt and uses Cairo Airport to travel. Unfortunatately, both of these crossings are controlled either directly or indirectly by Israel. Israel only allows VIPs and nationals of the US and the UK through them. The rest must wait forever if they want to pass through them. It doesnt matter how much serious or genuine your cause is. This kind of restriction increased (it has always been there) since Hamas ruled Gaza. #2. I'm only an average citizen of Gaza who has nothing to do with politics and I seriously am against many of Hamas actions but again the policy of collective punishment Israel does is not humane by any means and should be denounced by the International Court or the UN. #3. To #54 who called me names, I wasnt complaining to the Israelis. I'm not waiting for any of them to solve my problem. I'm not here either focused on my personal problem. I only wanted them to put them in a slim context of what a life of a Gazan could be. This kind of atmoshpere create a common understanding with them and this can lead to an end for the suffering of our people.
60. Observer is much fun.
Ben ,   London, UK   (07.18.08)
How about the Denial syndrome? The one you are a victim of? You know that syndrome that will never allow you to admit the truth and have you invent lame arguments that just the syndrome's victim like you can believe in.
