1. Religious Lesbian = Oxymoron
Miriam ,   Israel   (07.21.08)
Unless you mean religiously lesbian.
2. I really wonder...
Hiram ,   Montreux   (07.21.08)
...what those bearded religious zealots will says when they start posting on that subject. So far I recall seing on this website horrendous and hateful comments par religious men about homosexuality ! ( an abomination they says , thus citing verses of the scriptures)....It will be interesting to see what the posts will look like....and definately good luck to Bat-Kol sisters !!!
3. They made up their own religion
Aviva ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.21.08)
That's how they can call themselves "religious"
4. They can't redefine Judaism to suit themselves
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (07.21.08)
If they want to be accepted in a so-called Jewish movement, then go to Reform, and Orthodoxize it. The Orthodox movements don't recognize homosexuality. Look at how it's tearing apart the Episcopal movement in the US. This is what they want in Judaism.
5. religious rapists and murders
eliezer ,   jerusalem   (07.21.08)
I am starting a group for religious rapists and murders, We keep the Torah but only one or two commandments we kind of feel are not in keeping with the times. We believe that murder, rape and assorted plunder should be accepted in the religious world and those who do not accept this are narrow minded creeps that deserve incarceration and torture. If you are interested in joining with me and Major Olmert in this new group, please email us via Bat Kol at Wackychicks@batkol.org
6. Destruction of third temple has started!
Daniel ,   Israel   (07.21.08)

11. keep on!
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (07.21.08)
Miriam you think you know God thoughts? Lesbians are God´s creatures too, leave your vanity on a shelf please. There are many ways of being religious
12. #5
ilan ,   ta   (07.21.08)
i'm starting a group for religious critics who act in god's name. they will keep the torah but only those commandments that they think are important. before you criticize someone else's acts, look to your own non-abiding acts.
13. everyone is so quick
ilan ,   ta   (07.21.08)
to comment on everyone else's life without looking at their own life and their own failures. this is probably the main reason why humans are infinitely dumb and ignorant beings, capable of criticizing others yet not bettering themselves. to top it all off, to call one religious and do this is mind boggling!! but there's no end to, no end to religious people mocking other people yet calling themselves religious. and why? b/c it's easy for them to do. it's EASY to mock someone else then to look into their own personal/religious/life failures.
14. If they believe that the teachings of the Torah....
JewishDragonfly ,   Torrance, CA, USA   (07.21.08)
If they believe that the teachings of the Torah are incorrect, then why call themselves religious. If they believe in them, then follow them. Elijah asked, "How long will they limp between two opinions. If Hashem is G-d follow Him, and if Baal, then follow him."
15. Can anyone please tell me?
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem Israel   (07.21.08)
Can anyony tell me where in the Torah that it forbids women from having lesbian relationships? and if so what was the punishment? I thought that it's only specific to men because of wasting seed and being abhorent to GOD. The Rabbis also say that women are NOT obligated to have children either, and even if they are, can't they just get a doner?
16. What are we man to do now ? :-))))
YITZAK BEN SHLOMO   (07.21.08)
These girls live us for girls and become lesbian. : -) Girls you may take all the fat women above 25.And please live our girlfriends alone ! : -)
17. Orthdox Lesbainas = TRUE Wierdos
Moshe   (07.21.08)
Just talk to one of them , you will notice they are missing a few screws,
18. GaYNet is true to its values
Moishe ,   Golutsk   (07.21.08)
19. a lesbian propoganda piece
david ,   new york   (07.21.08)
just the title "pious lesbians" and the mention of "religious lesbians" demonstrates that the author of this article is pushing propoganda. it is quite similar to how the "palestinian" arabs have pushed their propoganda: they refer to themselves as "palestinains" from "Palestine", though no such country as Palestine ever existed and the term "palestinian" when used in the past had been used to refer to jews also.
20. I think several talkbackers have missed the point.
Avi ,   Israel   (07.21.08)
Miriam, Aviva, Baruch, Eliezer, Daniel #1... I think you've missed the point. First off, Eliezer: You are a sick human being for comparing homosexual relationships with rape, murder and plunder. (And I believe the word you were looking for was "murderers", not "murders".) If you have even the tiniest sliver of a human heart, you'll realize that was an incredibly stupid thing to say. Nowhere in the article is it mentioned that the good women of Bat Kol are for the practice of lesbian SEXUAL relations. They give SUPPORT to lesbians who, despite how hypocritical they may feel inside and how hard it is, choose to still stay religious. Living with homosexual feelings in a religious world is painful and firghtening, if not because you're in a constant conflict with yourself then because of hateful people like yourselves. If you could only take a minute to think about what these people go through every day... I admire them greatly. You must separate the feeling from the act. The Torah has nothing to say about homosexual FEELINGS. It does, however, have much to say about treating your fellow man (and woman) with kindness. Stop spreading hate. Get a life. By the way, did you know that lesbian relations are never actually mentioned in the Torah?
21.  A RELIGIOUS LESBIAN IS LIKE A HONEST THIEF
(07.21.08)
22. why is lesbianism wrong?
nadav ,   tel aviv   (07.21.08)
where in the Tanakh does it say anything against lesbians? i think it is great that jewish women want to preserve their jewish identity and keep mitzvot without have to go against their own nature - the fact that they were BORN GAY (i.e. God made them that way). The bearded illiterae monsters in Jerusalem and Bnei Brak need to read a book of science once in a while, and not just some 8th centuray Iraqi texts (i.e. talmud!)!!
23. Hiram , not only hatefull bearded
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.21.08)
religious zealots , look at this myriam in 1 . Why should it be impossible that religious women become Lesbian ? Don't they have the same physicall constitution as the secular ones ? Good luck to those very courageous women , in their environnement it's less tolerated [ at least ] as in the secular world
24. For your information here it is,
Miriam ,   Israel   (07.21.08)
Talmud Bavli tractate Shabbat 65a, also tractate Yevamot 76a, and also Yad Hachazakah of the Rambam (Maimonides) hilchot Issurei Biah 21:8 who calls it "maaseh Eretz Mitzrayim" acting immorally like the Egyptians.
25. #11 see talkback #5 by Eliezer from Jerusalem
Miriam ,   Israel   (07.21.08)
26. #1 god forbid if your kids turn out to ba gay! hhhhhhh

28. TO MY BROTHER DANNY
ELY ,   PARDES CHANA   (07.21.08)
THERE ARE LOTS OF RELIGIONS BUT ONLY ONE TORAH!
29. piety isn't what it used to be.....
Ilan ,   Ariel   (07.21.08)
Pious Shabbat breakers? Pious pork eater? Pious theives? Pious pornagraphy? Piety must be an elastic word
30. is it necessary to make such a public statement?
chava ,   yerushalayim   (07.21.08)
A number of talkbacks say that many people don't keep all the mitzvot, and therefore shouldn't comment on these women who choose to keep most mitzvot, but not a particular one. Yes, many people either occasionally or regularly don't follow some mitzvot, but they don't make a public organization to be supportive of it. For example, there is no organization in support of those who smoke on Shabbat. If these women feel they can't keep themselves from lesbian relations, or they choose not to, that doesn't mean they have to make this a public statement or try to convince others to condone it. If indeed it's a part of their nature that they feel is unchangeable, they can choose to act on it or not. HaShem is testing them. Each person is given tests that her/his soul needs.
