Eric ,   Israel   (07.24.08)
I love Israel but between these reports & the new law that permits additional state funds to religious schools without requiring them to teach ANY of the basic subjects makes me very very depressed to be an Israeli today. This country has been hijacked by our own versions of the Taliban.
2. Heroes?
Jeffrey ,   Boston   (07.24.08)
Are these the same settlers that are ready in an instant to shoot rampaging bulldozer drivers to protect Jewish lives? Wake up people. These Jewish settlers are the tip of the spear!
3. ACTUAL STORY
(07.24.08)
(IsraelNN.com) Arabs threw rocks at cars near Yitzhar Junction in Samaria Thursday. A civilian who saw that the soldiers present were not doing anything took a soldier’s gun and fired in the air. Another civilian who was armed also fired his weapon in the air.
4. What a joke !!
Yoel ,   Israel   (07.24.08)
From this article, I could read: The police "arrived at the illegal West Bank outpost of Adi-Ad to investigate building violations"...??? If they already know it's illegal, what's the point going there to investigate? Making sure it's illegal? Apart from that, we should have a complete picture of the story, and not only from some "Human Right" 's view. Those "settlers" are the last fence before Israel gets attacked from inside. It would have been fair adding that since last week many of their cars have been stoned and damaged on the Kvish 60. Maybe give not only some fake reasons about "riots". They just complain by blocking some roads, and noone has used some firearm; don't forget they could be efficient as that guy who "finished" the Jerusalem's terrorist 2 days ago...
5. gush katif...never again

6. Arabs and Jews can not live together.
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (07.24.08)
Is that sooooooooo difficult to understand? Ishmael belongs to Arabian Peninsula;Itzhak and Israel belong to Israel. It is MAD(MAD!!!) to push these two people to live together when there is a HUGE space to accomodate both and let both alone already. Those who push us together are Israel's haters and should be IGNORED,and the RIGHT thing should prevail inANY negociation ,until this surreality comes to an END;a happy and sane END!
7. Information
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (07.24.08)
I really don't understand why Y-net, an Israeli news net will rely in arab information and accept it with no doubts. After all, as far as I understand, these same arabs are the ones who attack us Israelis and not only in Yehuda and Shomron but also in Jerusalem and Sderot. Don't you believe that it would be just fair to ask the "settlers" about there version? I live in Karnei Shomron, which according to you is a "settlement" I take my clothes to be washed in a nearby laundry arab owned, I fill gas in a petrol station also nearby and also arab owned, I talk with the people there and we do business in peace. Didn't you never asked yourself why it is just in determined villages that their are problems? Never payed attention to the small detail that what you call "human rights groups" happen to be near, always? Please be true and say true!
8. "According to PA reports" Always believe the Arabs and
Miriam ,   Israel   (07.24.08)
trust their words indisputably. Ynet, you're becoming a BBC and CNN news media.
9. This is disgusting!
rahel ,   israel   (07.24.08)
Shame on them.
10. where is the military governer of the W.B.,

if he does not impose a curfew now, when he will impose it, then.
11. Payback
Peter Bradley ,   New York, NY   (07.24.08)
Where was the response when 2 Arab terrorists went on terror rampages with a bulldozer killing and maiming innocent Jews on 2 separate occasions? There was none. Maybe this is payback. Just a very small, insufficient payback.
12. Rioting Settlers
Eli ,   Israel   (07.24.08)
They have been encouraged to be violent. Mob rule is the name of the game in Israel now. See what Julie Tamir had to say about the Haredi law passed today that allows males in yeshivas not to study basic education; if we didn't pass it we'd have a civil war, she said. That's mob rule..............
13. Disgusting ? Absolutely.
Nathan Rai ,   Bangalore   (07.24.08)
Rahel must be hallucinating if he thinks that the Palestinians have a exclusive right to Direct Action. ( Thats what Pakistans Jinnah called it ). When Israel recognises that the Land of Israel came to be only and only because of so many died for the Spirit of Never Again it will know peace. Inless Israel recognises that the taqiyeh of the leftists / Olmerts will destroy Israel a million years earlier than the taqiyeh of the Jihadi loonies, Israel is truly doomed to dissappear.
14. Efrat Weiss relies only on Palastinian witnesses
Jayjay3 ,   Israel   (07.24.08)
That says it all! Pallywood!
15. Arabs and Jews #6
English person ,   London   (07.24.08)
Contrary to the filfh spewed out by the writer of #6, the conclusion to an incident of Israeli settlers yet again behaving atrociously towards the indigenous inhabitants, is to expel the settlers, get them off other people's land,
16. He's right...
Michael Berg ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.24.08)
Settlers should obviously let police tear down their homes without getting upset! Not only that, but they shouldn't get all angry when the police interfere with their freedom and prevent them from having a 5-day tour from one Jewish Settlement to another. What rights do settlers have to travel from one settlement to another? None. Obviously.
17. to #15, and the Arab pogroms in Hebron in 1929?
Mike ,   Atlanta USA   (07.24.08)
Get the Arabs out of Hebron!
18. A Jewish home for a Jewish family in Israel can't be illegal
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (07.24.08)
19. To #15 "English person"
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (07.24.08)
Hi man, If you don't dare give your name, if you are English, not Israeli, nor Jew. Why dare you determine who's land it is? What's the legal basis of the arabs pretension of ownership? We were here before, we were expelled (or massacred) in many places in the Land of Israel before 1948, does that give them rights?
20. What illegal settlement?
Yisraeli   (07.24.08)
86 years ago - on July 24, 1922, the League of Nations (equivalent to today's UN) published the historical document "Mandate for Palestine" that laid down the Jewish legal right to settle anywhere in western Palestine - the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, an entitlement unaltered in international law. The "Mandate for Palestine" was not a naive vision briefly embraced by the international community. Fifty-one member countries - the entire League of Nations - unanimously declared on July 24, 1922: "Whereas recognition has been given to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country." It is important to note that political rights to self-determination as a polity for Arabs were guaranteed by the same League of Nations in four other mandates - in Lebanon and Syria [The French Mandate], Iraq, and later Trans-Jordan [The British Mandate]. Any attempt to negate the Jewish people's right to Palestine - Eretz-Israel, and to deny them access and control in the area designated as the Jewish National Home by the League of Nations is a serious infringement of international law. Those claiming that Jewish settlements in the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea are illegally occupied, should answer just one simple question: In 1922 Jewish settlements were perfectly legal - What has changed? 21. This reporting is so WRONG!
Adam Eliyahu Berkowi   (07.24.08)
1) the firing in the air was reported by other news services as a Jew taking the weapon and firing in the air in self-defense (according to proper Rules of engagement). It would seem that once again, like the policeman in the previous tractor attack, civiliains react while defense forces wander around in a daze. 2) was the headline as prominent when 2 soldiers were injured by rock throwing at n'ilin? Why do I feel like I am reading a propoganda rag when I read Y-Net?
22. the eyes of the beholder
dan kaplan ,   usa   (07.24.08)
palestinian and foreign "activists" led by left-wing israelis "protest" at a "demonstration" in naalin. settlers "riot" at yitzhar. hmmm. do the rocks thrown at a protest hurt less that the ones thrown at a riot ?
23. The media cries wolf too often
Ignatious Mucklefutz ,   Fargo ND   (07.24.08)
Journalism has sunk to such a low level that it is hard to believe anything that is reported. This lack of accuracy and standards in the media is especially evident in the reporting of the middle east. Tremendous harm has been done by the interaction of false Palestinian propaganda and the lazy and cowardly journalist-idealogues who accept these versions without investigation. Thus, the version of settlers attacking Palestinians as reported by the media is open to question as to its accuracy. With that said, if the story of settlers attacking Palestinians is true, the settlers must be punished for breaking the law. Nothing good will come out of attacks on Palestinians who are not violent and these settlers whould be helping the IDF and security forces to capture the terrorists---not injuring those who are not involved.
24. #15 and "get Arabs out of Hebron"
English person ,   London   (07.24.08)
Of all the nonsensical and pathetic slogans I have read here, reading someone from Atlanta USA saying "get Arabs out of Hebron" really must take the cake. How about get the French out of Paris? Get the Spaniards out of Madrid? Get the fascist white trash out of Atlanta?
25. #24 should have referred to tb #17

Dirt Shirt ,   USA   (07.24.08)
#24 "Of all the nonsensical and pathetic slogans I have read here, reading someone from Atlanta USA saying "get Arabs out of Hebron" really must take the cake." Read your own words and then read your comment #15 "expel the settlers, get them off other people's land." This from somebody living in London,England. How nonsensical and pathetic.
27. To: # 19 Ricardo
Ron ,   Los Angeles, USA   (07.24.08)
Here we go again, dude, you're talking about something that took place over 2000 years ago!!! Stop with this "Land of Israel" BS. Nothing but religous propaganda, wars happen and people move in, in this day and age it's Israel's turn, maybe in another 1000 years, the Arabs will take back the land...... STOP this madness "Land of Israel".........
28. #26 - Don't forget the British started this mess...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (07.24.08)
Don't forget the British started this mess to begin with when they handed 80% of the original British Mandate exclusively to the Arabs, then had plans to split the remaining 20% of the British Mandate between Jews and Arabs. Oh, let's also remember that the British were forcibly returning Jews to Nazi Europe all the while doing nothing to stop the massive flow of illegal Arab immigration into the British Mandate from Syria. All this happened after the British promised us our own country in the entire Mandate- which compromises modern-day Jordan, Israel, Gaza and the West Bank. It's really very sad how little the British know about their own history...
29. #27 nasty being from LA
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (07.24.08)
Clarify to us your obscure thoughts. What bothers you sooo much Jews being let alone in a country that is so tiny that is almost invisible on the map. Are you able to explain,or are you one more dog soul, that only reacts by animalesque instincts of hate and envy(I mean evil dogs, kind of hyenas, because even a regular dog is much better than you),and is ABSOLUTELY unable to reason as human being? Indeed,we need the Emissary of G'od to come very soon in order to clean the world from filth. It is overdue the time.It is more than about the time!
30. Adei ad NOWHERE near yitzhar
Elchonon ,   Chevron   (07.24.08)
Sorry.. for all I care this is all made up.. I used to live in that area and I can be the farm that yitzhar is over 20 minute drive from adei ad.. You would need to drive from yitzhar to the main route 60, down for about a few minutes, make a route drive passed charwa to tapuach junction (10 minutes) then make a left and drive down passed migdalim, and the rout to kochav hashchar then adei ad or from tapuach junction to shilo junction which is about 15 minutes. So I really dont know or care what happend because as far as i'm concerned your story is made up. Did ynet hire jayson blair and reuters photogs now?
