'Soft charges hurt more than bullet'    Ali Waked
1. Abu, blah blah, cry me a river about your big toe
you cant possible take yourself this seriously. The guy was charged for this abuse and relieved of his office. Your asking for years of jailtime? please... If you were seriously injured or killed, then it would be more than an abuse of power and jailtime would be appropriate. This punishment fits the crime. You , Abu, with all the anger in the world in your heart, want a hanging it seems.
jared ,   orlando   (08.07.08)
2. This is such a load of crap
Punishment must be commensurate to the crime. That means a shoplifter who steals a pack of chewing gum is not sent to the gallows. It also means that a soldier who fired a rubber bullet that bruised the foot of a Palestinian that had been engaged in stonethrowing should not be thrown in jail. It also means that an Arab terrorist serving time in an Israeli prison for barbarically massacring an Israeli child, her father, and an off-duty policeman should not be released, particularly in exchange for the dead bodies of Israelis murdered by like-minded Arab terrorists.
Jake   (08.07.08)
3. He is fortunate the Jews don't blow up the Palestinian Arab
buses, wedding receptions, kindergartens, school, restaurants, etc. like his compatriots do.
Frank ,   USA   (08.07.08)
4. What would he say if the Jews indiscriminately fired the
missiles at Ramallah just like his brothers fire the missiles from Hamastan into Shderot?
Frank ,   USA   (08.07.08)
5. Are they any commanders left in Tsahal?
The state of Israel is eating his best servant and humilating them for what, for who? A palestinian's toes? A good advice to all : don't give money to the state of Israel and don't do alyah also. Let them know we the jews of the diaspora, of the gallut, we are fed up with how the israeli governement consider their own army. After Olmert, probably Livni, but nothing will change.
EYS ,   Montreal Canada   (08.07.08)
6. this crybaby and his big toe--oy gevalt
debra ,   usa   (08.07.08)
7. One sided
why is it that everytime I see an article that is being put forth by this Ali Waked guy that it is totally anti-Israel or pro-palestinian. I mean if all of these writers work with ynet and are soppoed to be impartial than how come it is so blatant that this guy publishes only negative articles about Israel. I must say that I take everything with his name on it with a bushel of salt
Tamir ,   Los Angeles   (08.07.08)
8. Act Human And Get Treated Like You Are Human
Another blatantly pro arab/hamass story! The little criminal was pelting soldiers with rocks. Of course the officer involved was at fault for not shooting the photographer and then the arab in question in the head. These are not protests they are acts of anarchy just like any intifada. Land rights do not trump the safety and well being of Jews who are targets of petty criminals like this arab. Israel should take the Hashemite stand on tolerance for arab riots. The Jordanians just bring out the heavy machine guns and tanks and quell all disturbances. Our spineless Israeli leaders do not understand that our tolerance for these violent attacks are viewed as weakness in the arab mindset.
Yonatan ,   Nahariya   (08.07.08)
9. Rights
He is talking about rights? What rights does he have in Gaza or the West Bank? What the soldier did was wrong and maybe they let him off easy but he shouldn't talk about rights and democracy.
Yossi ,   California   (08.07.08)
10. reasonable discipline ! but victim not inocent either
The whole incident would not have taken place had stones not been thrown....I'm not going to have tears over a bruised toe of someone who help cause the problem.
Psalms83 ,   Selah   (08.07.08)
11. did hims get a wittle boo boo on hims wittle toe?
i love the fact that you need to get a zoomed close-up picture of the injury just to be able to see it. that guy is a complete sissy girl to complain about his little scratch. get that boy a cookie and tell him to stop crying.
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (08.07.08)

13. YNET THE ISRAELI AL-JAZEERA ! STOP WITH THIS STUPID STORY
(08.07.08)
14. Toe injury
I'm sorry, but that picture of Abu-Rahama's toes still looks more like a case of "turf toe" caused by poorly-fitting shoes than a bullet wound. There's no excuse for the shot fired, but I have my doubts that it actually hit him, born out by the rifle barrel angle relative to his leg in the original video. The suspicion remains in my mind that this was a "target of opportunity" by Abu Rahama, and that his claim is fraudulent. (I have the scars from 3 different bullet wounds, and none of them resemble his injury.)
Michael ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (08.07.08)

To our Army! Stop writing Palestinian Propaganda!
Ely ,   Pardes Chana   (08.07.08)
16. Agreed, #1
Ashraf Abu Rahma, cease your sniveling, buck up, and play the man. After a long, hard day of raising Hell on the streets, you whine about losing a toe for "The Cause"? Ye got real lucky, son, and when you go out of your way to court trpuble, don't fuss when trouble grabs on to you. Honestly, what a neighborhood!
Cameron ,   USA   (08.07.08)
17. To All the above

shaul ,   far away   (08.08.08)
20. #17 What is the matter, Hamasnik?
Don't you hate it that we know who and what you are?
Steve ,   USA   (08.08.08)
21. soft charges--but we let Palestinian murderers go free
so its tit for tat--we jail your guys and set them free--where you celebrate them as heroes (See Kuntar, for example)sand we give light jail sentences --or no sentences at all--to our guys who kill your guys. In the old days I would have wept at the injustice--today I say--oh well, it's not as bad as jailing them and them freeing them to go at it again.s
bob ,   potomac md and TA   (08.08.08)

27. #19&20 Guys , do you know how to read
I guess my argument is so convincing that you have no answer to it ? Answer the argument and don't talk about stupid "hamasnik" or "blowing yourself". Just admit that SHOOTING A BLINDFOLDED MAN IS NOT BRAVE!! ,but I guess the "super race" have their own definistion fo "bravery"
ALAN ,   SF   (08.08.08)
