31. #14, Bandar, you've got it wrong
Jake   (08.11.08)
That's your Achilles heel in your neck of the woods, isn't it: uncontrollable lying. Olmert never announced a total destruction and disarmament of Hizbullah as one of Israel's objectives. He did, on the other hand, announce that Hizbullah would be removed from the border area, which was in fact partly achieved by the UN resolution ending the conflict. But, let's say, if you like, Hizbullah won. Since then, both Hizbullah and the Lebanese state have set themselves up for an inevitable conflict with Israel, based on another Hizbullah cross-border attack with official approval by the Lebanese state, using the excuse of "liberating territories" and the Shebaa farms red herring, for which they've got no case. Clearly, their fatal flaw is that they don't understand the concept of quitting while they are ahead, and underestimating Israeli resilience, as though Israel is a paper tiger. Their endless appetite for attacks and provocations will bring about their own Defeat Defeat and demise.
32. #28, Don't pretend Hizbullah didn't attack outside Lebanon
Jake   (08.11.08)
or that it doesn't have plans to do so again in the future. There is an old saying: "Al Qaeda is the B team of terrorism. Hizbullah is the A team".
33. To this Jumblatty crap Walid
Toni ,   Canada   (08.11.08)
Your hatred for Hizbollah is eating you from inside buddy. Your leader Walid Jumbo put his tail between legs and turns around like a good puppy and signed peace agreement with Hizbollah to save his ass and still waiting to accept him in Damascus. Didn't he want to burn the green and dry for the Druze dignity.
34. 21,22,23 etc.. mentally ill
Jeff Lapointe ,   Canada   (08.11.08)
This crap Steven Wilson is a typical American schizophrenic. Whatever he writes is nuke , nuke nuke. You American sick, go to Iraq and show us your heroism,we Canadian are saving your ass in Afganistan .
35. reply to # 30
Bnadar ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (08.11.08)
Its seems to me that you are suffering from a selective amnesia disorder. It seems that your memory can go back only to the day when Hezbollah crossed the border and captured the two Israeli soldiers. Israel has been moving at will in and out of Lebanon for decades, long before Hezbollah ever existed. As a matter of fact Hezbollah came to life as a natural response to contnious Israely attrocities in Lebanon in general and Southern Lebanon in particular. Times are changing and Israely leadership has better adapt and realize that or the people of Israel are in for hard times. Iran was never in the picture and Hezbollah did not even exist decades ago. Arrogance will only get you humiliation and its about time you realize that.
36.  reply to #3O & 3I
Bandar ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (08.11.08)
Try to act civilized even though you may not know the meaning of the word. Watch your langauge. Its easy to make threats when you are a coward hiding behind your computer screen. You fell into quick sand in Iraq, so before your testesterone get the best of you and start threating Lebanon and Iran, remember that you left Lebanon once before with your tail between your legs.
37. #36, Who do you think you are talking to?
Jake   (08.12.08)
"You fell into quick sand in Iraq, so before your testesterone get the best of you and start threating Lebanon and Iran, remember that you left Lebanon once before with your tail between your legs." Who is this "you" which you keep referring to? When I refer to Hizbullah and the Lebanese State, I refer to them as "they", not "you". You address me personally, instead of refuting what I said. Don't pretend Hizbullah are some kind of brave heroes and good guys, sitting on their eggs, as if they are not a proxy in a bigger war. Nasrallah is hiding somewhere deep undeground, making bombastic speeches and threats against Israel via satellite and video link. Hizbullah were set up by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, and the elimination of Israel was one of their stated goals from the very beginning, and continues to this day. And don't pretend like Hizbullah is planning to stop the war against Israel if Israel vacates this or that so-called occupied territory. Israel recognizes the Lebanese state and borders, but the reverse is not true. The Lebanese state has allowed its territory to used on numerous occasions by various irregular Arab armies, fedayeen, and jihadis, to attack its southern neighbor since even before 1948. However, what happened a few days ago was the first time the Lebanese state gave such a broad mandate to a paramilitary armed group to act from its territory. This is the fatal flaw of Lebanon, and the fatal flaw of Hizbullah is its belief that Israel is a paper tiger, with no real roots in the region, and that it can be destroyed with the right amount of terrorist pressure. They make the same mistake over and over again, while Israel is not only resilient but self-critical enough to fix its errors. Those who have as their strategic goal the destruction of Israel and Jewish sovereignty in that land will not be celebrating a 'Divine Victory' for much longer.
38. to mr wilson steven

39. define terorism
to jake ,   george   (08.12.08)
if th UN defines terorism i have no doubt israel will be the leading member of the terorist club far ahead of alqaeda. no matter how u define terorism israel will have a permanent seat in crime inc. refer to human watch amnesty international
40. to walid in riad
michel   (08.12.08)
the shiats are going nowhere u stay in riyad. u will be an honor guest in olmert new hotel. traitors like u have no place in lebanon the days of mercy will be over soon any colaborator against his countrymen will not be foregiven anymore
41. #39, If the UN defines terrorism
Jake   (08.12.08)
If Israel were a member of voting blocks, with 22 other members or 50 or 80 other members, with plenty of oil, and with a guaranteed "automatic majority" from the so-called non-aligned blocked, than there would be no UN resolution mentioning Israel, except to say how wonderful it is. In the meantime, they can declare the Earth is flat and it will easily pass.
42. reply to post # 37
Bandar ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (08.12.08)
Trust me, after two successive defeats to Israel by Hezbollah in 2000 & 2006, Israel is the biggest paper tiger we've ever seen!
43. #38,#39 #40
Bandar ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (08.12.08)
Jake is tryng to be macho, I suggest he talks to some of the Israeli soldiers who are seeking psychological counselling after getting introduced to Hezbollah fighters in 2006. May be, this can cure his macho/ testesterone combo syndrome. As for Steven Wilson, I think he has been watching too many Rambo movies. He is delusional talking about nuke this and nuke that,so you cant take him too seriously. As for Walid, I think traiters like him should not be welcome back in Lebanon. I think we should start by dealing with the biggest traitor of them all Sameer Gaegae and maybe the rest would learn by example.
44. #43
Jake   (08.12.08)
In fact, I never underestimated Hizbullah's fighting abilities, or indeed any enemy of Israel, and I frequently criticized talkbackers who did so. On the other hand, Hizbullah is on record claiming that only a handful of its fighters had been killed during the 2006 fighting, when in fact several hundred had been killed. And I wonder if al-Manar TV would consider it appropriate to report freely on Hizbullah fighters receiving psychological counselling from their spritual leaders after returning from the battlefield. What am I saying? Just like homosexuals in Iran, of course they don't exist!
45. Iran and Nuclear weapons
C.Cannon ,   Sacramento, USA   (08.12.08)
Iran, Hizzbullah and any other Islamic organization simply should never be allowed to develop nuclear weapons. Plainly and simply these people are mentally unstable and are a serious threat to the rest of the world. Iran's nuclear capabilities must be destroyed as soon as possible!
46. reply to post #45
Bandar ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (08.12.08)
How do you measure mental stability? Is it George Bush style?
47. To #33 and #40
Walid ,   Riyadh   (08.12.08)
You're a couple of morons, just for concluding that i'm Jumblati when you read my name. I'm not Druze and let me tell you something imbeciles, you who follow, blindly, that old senile ex-general who simply ran away and abandoned his soldiers back in Oct 1990, when he heard the first shot; you're an insult to manhood and you're morally castrated. I pity you! You're looking forward to Hizballah to fight on your behalf and want to get the glory for it. You'll be nothing but serfs and coolies in the Islamic Republic of Lebanon Jackos! You believe you can deny me entry to Lebanon and call me a traitor? You're only a couple of whimps who will leave no trace during your earthly stay! And since you're no brainers and simply follow the mass; soon, you'll flip, like that wuss of an ex-General, you idoliaze. When IDF finishes off with the terror organization and its dirty turbaned leader n ASS rallah. I know you insignificant, i have always picked on your brethren and will do soon.

49. profanity reflects ur poor education
to walid   (08.12.08)

traitor like u has no religion. how could u support israel against ur own countrymen. u have no self respect how do u expect people to respect arabs like u if u dont respect youself you are disgusting.
51. reply to # 47
Bandar ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (08.12.08)
Its good to see you upset, it means Michel and George are on the right track. Your use of profanity reflects your poor education and your class. You are not welcome in Lebanon, traitors like you will be hunted down to the very last, starting with your leader Sameer Gaegae.
52. reply to # 48
Bandar ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (08.12.08)
Michel you dont have to go back all the way to the Napoleon era to give an example that Walid might understand. When Israel withdraw from southern Lebanon back in2000 it took in very few collaborators and left the majority of the South Lebanon Army at the border refusing to give them shelter in Israel. Eventually they were arrested by Hezbollah and handed over to the Lebanese army. People like Walid are misguided and are used by Israel and eventually dumped when they outlive their usefullness.
53. Save the Ordinary Palestinians and Lebanese
TrumanWas Right   (08.17.08)
The 1947 strategy was absolutely wrong. The army should have been used to find the leaders of the resistance, and save the ordinary people. Truman bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it shortened the war, it would have been better to kill the emperor. The current anti Iran campaign is extended, and wrong. It should target the leaders and save the ordinary people. But no new Chalabi favorites in Iran.
