38. Nobody knows the potential buyer....
Yet the usual idiots (Miriam, Antonio, etc.) are babbling about safety. Of course they can quit if they like, but lets not say that their prejudices are well founded without more information. Their justification for their feelings by reference to their football alliances (!) is a clue that they are just the prejudiced dregs of Israeli Jewish society. Let them go - and then complaint that there are too many arab drivers at Gilo. Judge the person on his merits, not his ethnicity or which village he comes from. My guess is that if he can afford to buy the business, he has worked hard to save his money. From outward appearances this is the kind of arab Israeli citizen that we as Jews should be supporting, alongside Jews who work hard to succeed in business.

39. #32 - I'm with Rami on this one....
There is no reason a Jew cannot work for an arab intrinsically. I need to know that my boss is an honest person, loyal to the State and fair to his employees. There are plenty of Jews who fit none of these categories or at least fall short in one or more. I think its wrong to assume that an arab citizen can't be all three. Of course we have reasons to be leary about our fellow arab citizens given how some of them behave and act. But frankly, I am apalled about how some Jews behave too - but I love them as a whole. Its just plain wrong to reject all arab citizens out of hand. God says so - requiring us to be kind to the widow, the orphan and the stranger in our midst. The State will never succeed if we behave that way and we will loose everything. Again. This lesson is particularly important in the Tisha B'Av season. I want to know more about this "arab business man from East Jerusalem." Is he kind? Is he loyal? Does he treat his employees fairly? Does he have a family to feed? Is he kind to his family? Does he speak out to his friends and neighbors when others purpetrate acts of terror? Those are the questions I wish I saw more of on these talkbacks. Sure its easy to agree that we don't want to be victims of piguim. But that's not the issue here in my view.

40. #32 - Rami, Maybe they don't want to be Dhimmis...
Maybe they don't want to be Dhimmis and don't want to be in a situation that is comparable to being a Dhimmi.
If one side is going to excuse Arab racism against Jews for 60 years of 'occupation', why don't they extend that same logic to the Jews who have suffered 2000 years of 'occupation' and second-class citizenship?
It seems to me that if the Arab community in Israel can't stand the heat, they should question why they heated the frying pan up to begin with. Besides, you never answered my questions from earlier. Please define "Arab-Israeli" when it comes to enrollment statistics in the IDF and National Service...

42. And another thing....
I've taken taxi rides from arab drivers many times when I have been in Yerushalayim. In my experience, they have been just as nice, friendly and helpful as any Jewish driver I have had. Sometimes we talk politics, other times we talk about other things and sometimes nobody is in the mood to speak at all. Not everybody from the arab sector is out to get us and its time we all made an effort to get along better.

so in kfar saba all the citizens are intellectuals. how nice to know that you don't have stupid blue collar workers. for your information the biggest traitors and anti israel provocators come from the "intellectual" classes, the blue collar workers live in reality, not in the lala land of "yefei nefesh". shame on you to denigrate people who work hard for their living and don't sell Israel for a cent.

I really don't get how the left in this country ignores the fact that 60-70% of the people in our country were either themselves ethnically cleansed from Arab lands or are descended from Jews ethnically cleansed from Arab lands... I really don't!!
And, this ethnic cleansing was itself the end of 1400 years of brutalization!!
Come on, people, Arab-Jew relations did not begin in 1948!!!!!!

52. To Dorothy, Michael, Russel and similar
Please come down to earth! The big majority of the people of Israel don't share your self hate nor your hate to others!
Why do you always have to wish bad to people who think different from you?
Why do you always defend arabs no matter why?
Men, you are losers! You lose since the people of Israel doesn't care about what you think, and you lose because if one day, G forbidd, the arabs overcome us, you will be the first in the line to be eliminated.
Don't make mistake! They are the enemy!

56. Kol HaKavod! Be safe, not sorry.
All the sophistated westerners who think that these taxi drivers should accept a boss from the radical Arab neighbourhood of Jabel Mukaber are idiots. Firstly, they obviously won't get along. Secondly, they may be risking their lives, because the new boss might want them to also operate in East Jerusalem.
