2. Israelis in Georgia
Robert ,   San Antonio--Texas-U   (08.11.08)
What a coincidence. Wherever there are Israelis, there is war and conflict. Who da thunk
3. Zionist neocons got the Georgians to this mess ...
Chanalau, Tova ,   London, UK   (08.11.08)
... now that their military plans have all screwed up they want to escape - and leave their victims to sort things out. How typically Israeli.
4. To #6: We Remember the Alamo!
La Raza ,   Tejas   (08.11.08)
We remember the Alamo and the bunch of whites who stole our land from us! Georgians tried to fight the occupier; we shall do it without wars, and slowly... But the end is clear: you will be back in Indiana! Wait, it belongs to the Native Amerucans! Well, build a rowboat for the Atlantic tour :-) :-)
5. Worst strategic blunder this year, bar none!
HPS ,   USA   (08.11.08)
This whole mess has the fingerprints of the neocons, and the private gas/oil interests, all over it. What IS their problem, these men? EGO? Greed? Mass delusion? Did they really think they could poke the Sleeping Bear with a stick and get away with it? Now that the bear is on the rampage the provacateurs pretend to be the victims of an unprovoked bear attack, fooling NO ONE. What is WRONG with these people? I feel so sorry for the noncombatants on both sides. How many innocents have to die to achieve Western access to Caspian energy resources, or for that matter "the Greater Israel?" We see the ships coming at Iran. Who is gunning for this Armageddon, anyway? This is insanity.
6. #3, wrong, Georgia is fighting occupation, you moron
Jake   (08.11.08)
and failed to gain support in the West, because the West has been hijacked by perfidious barbarous Neo-Lefitsts like you, who fell in line with Putin's dicats at the critical moment. (Same bunch that are emboldening Ahemdinejad as we speak).
7. Georgia for the ignorant #2
Thomas ,   USA   (08.11.08)
I wish you will suffer the same fate that millions of Eastern Europeans, Baltic nationals, even Slavic peoples like Ukraine had to endure under the barbarian Russian occupation that lasted 60 years, you dreck.
8. #2 Texans in talkbacks
Bill H ,   Oregon, USA   (08.11.08)
What a coincidence. Wherever there are Texans, there is stupidity.
9. to La Raza
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (08.11.08)
I think you are a bit confused. They mean the other Georgia, the one in eastern Europe, near Russia.

Nice, you don't bother to dispute the facts, you just sling an insult. Childish...
12. Israelis in Georgia bravo #2
Tax Payer ,   Tampa USA   (08.11.08)
Finally an American tax payer who is not a traitor to our great country speaks the truth. All of these losers that put Israel first instead of America are traitors to the USA and should be treated as such. America should always be first you idiots Israel is always the poor helpless victim - If you would get out of your 4 wheel drive pickup trucks you might actually see that Israel is using our brave men and women to do the fighting for them. Ask yourself who benefits by all these wars??? Idiots
13. #3 Ignorant antisemitism. Georgian Jews
Liliane ,   Brighton, UK   (08.11.08)
#3 Your accusations are antisemitic and bigoted. Many Georgian Jews live in Israel and travel between the 2 countries. Unlike Britain where there is a lot of antisemitism, it does not exist in Georgia.
14. 2# And wherever there is a redneck cow poke comment...
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (08.11.08)
It comes out of Texas. Do us a favor....go milk your bull.
15. 5# Russia has no right to be in a country handing out arms
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (08.11.08)
and Russian citizenship papers to begin with. Georgia had every right to take back control of a rogue city. Russia shouldn't have been meddling in Georgian affairs to begin with. Putin wants the oil pipeline you smuck. Plain and simple. Russia stealing what they can't have again. Without people with something beween their legs......why would we want you over the neocons? The liberals stop any energy development from being developed. No nuclear....no oil drilling.....!! It's about time someone stood up and tried to take care of the energy needs of the free world. It certainly won't be your puppet Obama. Excuses for the country coming to a standstill by Nancy Pilosi. We thought the Porcipine Caribou were more important than drilling in ANWR. Lets all walk to our next vacation spot next summer.
16.  #2, # 12 For Gen. David Ivri, with thanks and appreciation
Mladen Andrijasevic ,   Be'er Sheva   (08.11.08)
Given the spate of frequently contradictory reports about US-Israeli coordination or tension over a strike on Iran, it might be worth noting that in the more garrulous past, Ivri would occasionally speak with a certain quiet satisfaction about a treasured picture he kept hanging on the wall facing his desk in Washington. It features an enlarged black-and-white US satellite photograph of Osirak, taken a few days after the IAF raid had smashed the facility to pieces. And it bears a handwritten inscription that reads: "For Gen. David Ivri, with thanks and appreciation for the outstanding job he did on the Iraqi nuclear program in 1981 - which made our job much easier in Desert Storm." It is signed: Dick Cheney. http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull&cid=1215330934125
17. # 8 I deserve that
Bill H. ,   Oregon, USA   (08.11.08)
My apologies to Texans other than Robert. It was only to prove a point to Robert. I did not mean it to apply to any other Texan than him. I am sorry to have offended you and others. I was hoping you would understand that my tounge was in my cheek when I made that rude comment.
18. Everything
Ed ,   Texas   (08.11.08)
Man, you Alaskans are about as dumb as a bucket of ice. Did you not get the memo that the Georgians shot and killed the Russian PEACEkeepers in cold blood because they wanted to "take back" South Ossetia? The dumbass Georgians started this mess and Russia is, rightly, going to finish it. The reason the Israeli's were helping the Georgian military was to hopefully keep Russia busy and bogged down with this conflict while they (the Israeli's and the USA) did their dirty work on Iran. Now, the USA and Israel are upset because their plan didn't work, and the whole "let's invade Iran" fiasco is now delayed, or completely OFF the table. CHECKMATE.
19. #5 stop looking in a mirror
Hunt S Cross ,   England   (08.11.08)
No, the Russian bear hasn't been sleeping, just playing a long game with our governments, with you and with me. The bear can't claim the credit for it. Putin / Kokoity moves come from the Hitler / Heinlein playbook. Destabilise a little country, and you can push it any way you like. What business did Russia have arming the S Ossetian separatists? What business did their "peacekeepers" have issuing Russian passports to Georgian citizens inside Georgia? Why didn't these "peacekeepers" keep the peace when the separatists tried to ethnically cleanse the Georgian villages around the S Ossetian capital a week ago? Why did they stop the Georgian army from doing what they should have been, and how many civilians did they kill there? Why is Russia pouring paratroopers into Abkhazia? Why, days after a ceasefire call, do they continue to bomb and capture towns outside S Ossetia? Could it possibly be the BP / Statoil pipeline that crosses Georgian territory from the Caspian oilfields, a lifeline to the West which is, for the moment, outside Russia's control? There are people who thought the Soviet Union a model of virtue. They cheered the Molotov/Ribbentrop pact. They applauded Putin's and Chirac's efforts to frustrate the international community's will in getting Saddam to comply with UN resolutions. Now they cheer Putin in his new role as Ahmadinejad's best buddy. Hitler felt the weight of destiny as he tried to restore Germany's "greatness". Putin feels the weight of destiny as he tries to restore Russia's "greatness". Blind idiots ease their burden.
20. to #12 We do not need your "brave men and Women"!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (08.11.08)
Ours are better and remember we always had victory snatched from us by the U.S. We do not need anyone to fight for us. Besides where the hell are they fighting for us? Or have ever fought for us? We kept the U.S.S.R. from taking over the middle east and not the states!
21. #5. Your post is pathetic myopic jibberish
Jake   (08.11.08)
GET A LIFE.
22. #18, there's only one problem with your "theory"
Jake   (08.11.08)
All that tumbleweed and cowdung must really be clouding your judgment. Israel has been investing in Georgia and supplying and training its military since the 1990's, far longer than Ahmedinejad has been president of Iran, s**t-for-brains. It is part of Israel's periphery doctrine, genius: trying to establish ties with non-Arab nations on the periphery of the Middle East (example, Turkey). If you had a brain cell, you might understand that is a fundamental interest for Israel, considering its lack of relations with the surrounding Arab world, you smart fella you.
23. Israeli Tourists !!... That's A Lie
Vladimir the Russian ,   Tel Aviv   (08.12.08)
Israeli military advisors is more like it. And now they are about to be caught in a war they helped devise. I hope the Russians put the vaunted Israeli military through a meat grinder. Israel deserves it. You want that oil pipeline through Georgia and Turkey to come right on down to Israel so you can siphon off oil for yourself. You don't care who gets killed in the process.
