Marijuana producers have been persecuted for a long time, but it was not always that way. Before modern plastic pharmaceutical monopolies began to take control of governments starting with Germany, Cannabis was used widely to treat various ailments & diseases by itself or in compounds formed with other herbs. I will note that hashish is often laced with narcotics like heroine to increase demand due to that drugs addictive effects. But cleanly grown marijuana is safe and helpful for humans in many ways.

Barney Franks( D. Ma) introducing a bill to make pot legal (a small amount). I think it's a good idea, if pot were made legal and taxed, America would be out of debt in a year! It's estimated that pot is the biggest cash crop in the states, probably Israel as well. If it were legalized and taxed, all of the criminals would have to find other work. As it is, it's a huge biz, jails, lawyers, courts filled w/ small dealers and users the consumption is still rising. Why not fill the jails real real criminals? Make pot legal.
