32. Let me tell you a thing or two about living in Golus
I live in Montreal, probably the most livable city in North America.
We are being flooded with Arabs and I can only say I can’t believe what is happening to my city.
Western society renders you invisible.
As long as you can pay, you can stay.
There is no chesed here...Even the so called Jewish org are simply there to schnorrer.
They don’t care...yeah they will speak for you but like in Israel they will not defend you.
Rabbis here are in competition with other diversions. It’s either their show or the other show.
Life here is tough...You may make more money but being a Jew in golus is quite frankly shit.
Sure there are Jews to marry with and to make families with, but in general the Jews are dissolving.
We need an Israel even if we were to eat rocks there.
The world doesn’t give a rat’s ass about Jews.
I am a rich man, I don’t hide that...but I am poor in the most basic way.
I am not living my heart, I am living my mind and as a result I am stuck in nowhere land.
Freedom comes when you as a person and we as a nation can chart your and our own course.
We need leaders to take us out of the wilderness for without them we are lost.
What we have today are creeps, thieves and insane maniacs who are leading all us Jews to the abyss of no return.
I beg to G-d that true Jewish leadership will arise.
Lets us yearn to be a free people and a free nation with the basic belief in, and respect for our higher power, namely the G-d of Israel.
When we achieve freedom then we will be a great nation, otherwise we will wither on the vine of perpetual suffering.
|
|
33. And maybe you should ask yourself...
...why Israelis feel the need to go abroad and marry outside the community.
Maybe the whole "Jews have to stick to the community" is getting old to young generations that are open to the world?
My wife is Mizrahi Jewish Israeli, I'm not and I'm not even Jewish. I have lots of respect for the culture though, and we'll move back to Israel in a few years.
Face it: Israel can either be a medieval theocracy like Iran and remain orthodoxically Jewish, or it can look towards the future rather than the past and open up to people from the outside, just like every advanced nation in the world.
Start making Israel the home of Israelis, and stop considering blood or genetics at the core of everything.

37. #2 - Ignorant, ignorant fool! Thank G_d you don't live here.
A HUGE, HUGE number of ex-Soviets have used and continue to use Israel as a stepping stone to Canada and the US. I have personally known several, one of whom left just the other day.
Read a little before you randomly piss on the rest of us.

38. What's all the fuss!! Get serious
There were over 18000 immigrants in 2007, so according to this article 4000 more people left than arrive, and even those statistics are dubious about who they were, and did they really leave or just went on a long trip etc. The end is not yet nigh!!
Over 300,000 Britons emmigrated from the UK last year, proportionately more than the number of Israelis. Is Britain about to turn the lights off?
Israel may not be perfect, but its a better place than many-warts and all.

And than what ? Most of the Israelis living abroad have dual citizenship. For over 20 years I was entering Israel on my US passport but starting 2004 I have to enter Israel with Israeli passport. And the only reason is to collect maa'm . Assuming hundreds of thousands of ex-Israelis visiting their famalies every year, this is a lot of money. In my case staying in American Colony for two weeks ,renting car and do some shopping , costs me extra $ 2000-3000 in sales tax per visit. Jason, please, think it over :-).

42. Well, the answer is far too obvious for those now used
to Middle Eastern mentality. Get out as fast as you can.
It's not even about wages and jobs. European culture will never get footing over here, so those who cant stand the Levant leave.

45. #2 - you reply is untrue
When I went to an Ulpan 5 years ago there were two very distinct types of Olehs.
The ones that were not Jews asked me (after a few weeks) "you are from England. Why did you come here?' and they seemed puzzled.
A Jew never asked me the same question and after 5 years still never has.
Several non-Jews have asked me since then.
I came with very little money after an expensive California divorce and settled in very nicely.
I am happy and have no complaints that I wouldn't have in any other country.
Unemployment is not a problem here! if you want to work!

46. Zionism-The Failure.
I emigrated to Israel in the early 90's and was met with nothing but contempt and ridicule. The native Israelis were perplexed as to why I would leave a prosperous country to live in the volatile Middle East. In my ideological zeal I even volunteered to serve in the IDF,but again this was met with scorn. The Jewish Agency is a complete farce and is totally incompetent.

47. It is a dangerous time and getting more so for Jews to leave
Israel. There is a short book available on the internet called "Germany and the Holy Roman Empire" that lists and quotes from many books published since the Berlin Wall fell in 1989 that show anti-semitism is on the rise in Europe and a tenth Holy Roman Empire is forming, which only needs the right leader to be crowned another Holy Roman Emperor by a Roman Catholic Pope for another holocaust in a Fourth Reich to occur. Don't be deceived into thinking the Germans and many others in Central Europe who are descended from the ancient Assyrians will ever accept Jews or Saturday Sabbath Messianic Christians for long. Already, Germany has over 300,000 troops in Europe and other countries as it rises to military might again.
The Prophet Zechariah says two-thirds of the Jews in Israel in the latter days will die, but more than that will die OUTSIDE Israel. At least a third will survive if they stay in Israel. The union of the Roman Catholic Church and German military might has always signaled pogroms for Jews. It will not be different this time. Jews should get out of Europe while they can. Israel is prosperous and can handle the aliyahs.

48. Mike 45 ,
I'm also a Oleh Chadash [ 2001 ] Contrary to you i was asked if i was crazy . And not by non Jews .
Where i lived for most of my life , i had'nt any problem for being Jewish . Only once when the arabs shut the oil supply to west Europe in 73 .
Now for all the negative people : with all the problems we face , with all the things i [ at least ] dislike here , there is something more important : Here i'm at HOME , and i'm not religious at all

49. To #36
There speaks a man from Lebanon, a country that probably has more expats than any other country in the world.
Has it anything to do with Nasrallah?
Will the last Lebanese kindly turn out the lights. The cavemen left behind with Nasrallah in his bunker live in the dark any way.

51. GOV'T WILL NOT DEFEAT arubs, LAND PRICES GO UP WITH BOXING
IN THE JEWS INTO A SMALL ISRAEL/PAL TERRITORIAL COMPROMISE. THEREFORE IT WILL BE TOO EXPENSIVE FOR LOW & MODERATE EARNER. RICH WILL EMPLOY arubs AT LOW WAGES, BECAUSE arubs CAN LIVE IN TRENCHES AT LOW COST. THEREFORE ISRAEL WILL SLOWLY BE TURNED INTO AN arub STATE DO TO ITS ECONOMICS, BECAUSE THE GOV'T WILL NOT KICK THE arubs OUT AS THEY SHOULD, WHICH WOULD DECREASE THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS IN ISRAEL BY REDUCING THE COSTS OF SECURITY. KICK arubs OUT & GET MORE PEACE, SECURITY & PROSPERITY NOT TO MENTION THE PEACE OF MIND NECESSARY TO KEEP JEWS HAPPIER TO LIVE IN ISRAEL. MOSHE

52. Israel is bizarre, very sad country
I'd love to live in Israel but its impossible: horrible wages, very elitist employment system, horrible social security, incredibly expensive, (more than Europe), very insecure, government run by scoundrels.
All those living in Israel now are HEROES. how can they do it? only god knows..
If Israelis were given the chance to freely settle in the US, Canada or Europe, the country would be empty, perhaps a couple thousand jews would remain.
I'm sad to say Israel is FAR away from the dreams of our zionist fathers and is bound to dissapear, not soon but within 100 years. too bad.
I'm a potential immigrant who finds Israel an aberration in all senses.

53. Rivkah- 47- don't get your knickers in a twist now.
First of all, please, but really...PLEASE!!!!...go and get your historical terms right and don't mix and match. It shows poorly on you.
Holy Roman Empire led by the Pope? Why? Because he happens to be German? When exactly did the Papacy claim that role in the past?
And one more thing, please check the exact relations between Catholicism and Germans. To your information, the majority of Germans are either Lutherans or Calvinists (you clearly missed the lesson about the Reformation).
And one last thing, please stop with the myths. Israel is definitely not ready for more immigration (as it wasn't in the 90s, not economically and not psychologically), it's not prosperous at the time and it's not a cultured state.

And you should see how many Shiites are in Detriot. So? There are more Lebanese living outside of Lebanon than in Lebanon. This has always been the case. Its not a direct result of the 2006 war.

No, it has nothing to do with Nasrallah. There has always been more Lebanese expats than Lebanese living in Lebanon. We are proud of our expat community and wish them well. Its not a result of the 2006 war as is your case.

59. More returning citizens + people making aliyah than leaving
These statistics, like the 'demographic threat' are not realistic. If you count the number of people making aliyah plus the number of returning citizens, it will dwarf the amount leaving. For example, if those making aliyah is approx 20,000 per year plus those returning is 12,000 making 32,000 as compared to the approx 22,000 who go. However, Israel likes to make everything look more dramatic than it actually is!

60. Yossu , and others
Horrible wages ? all depends on your qualifications .
Social security ? where is this not a vast problem ? here at least you don't pay so much for health care , surgery , hospitals .
Insecure ? yes , the roads are . But you have more deaths on the road [ per million inhabitants ] in many European countries .
Terrorism ? yes . We have some victims sad to say , but our police are doing a great job by preventing more .
You have to know : L'herbe est toujours plus verte a l'autre cote de la barriere . The grass looks better on the other side of the fence . Israelis can think that in other countries life is better , easier , less dangerous . Many are disapointed .
If you find Israel an aberration in all senses , why immigrate ? stay in your "golden" madina
