To Daniel: Yes indeed. Israel was a few days away from destroying Hez in South Lebanon..and, typically had to yield before the UN. We must remember that only when Israel is WINNING, are there urgent calls it to stop. The Arabs know it, thus making them more brave, both to start these wars and to finish. Israel needs to lose only 1 and its all over. Had Hez been wiped out, the entire M.E., would have been different. Olmert, unlike Russia, had no leverage to continue. The Palis will play on this weakness every time, unless Israel fights to win, to force them to surrender (not a cease fire). I have my doubts about Olmert's AND Israel's resolve.

To Alexi: I agree and disagree. Olmert was not unlike others in the M.E., where bribes and office give preferences. Let's be frank and honest, this is all about Israel's timidity in it's foreign policy, which started at Oslo 1. I was FOR some adjustments in land..for the disengagement and for leaving Lebanon. But I'm looking from 11,000 miles away. I was wrong, as was Israel. Israel needs new leadership, with an attitude more like Begin, Shamir, Netanyahu, BenGurion and Golda.
