1. Organ transplants in China
Ha'etzni makes a lot of very valid points - but presents absolutely no evidence. Only numbers and accusations.
If it's what he says is the truth - yes it's scandalous and worthy of legislation - but if he's just looking at numbers and guessing, he's condemning Israelis for no good reason.

2. I agree with Colin #1
I did notice one glaring inaccuracy in the article. It was regarding Darfur. As far as I kow, I srael is the only country who gave refuge to the those who escaped from Darfur and the Sudan. I also agree that Israel is supposed to be a light unto the nations. After all Judaism was the first to teach morality.

3. First, watch out for Israeli organs
If Israelis attempt to take the moral high ground universally, they will find an acute failure of their own organs en masse due to security concerns.

4. If true...
As already noted above *if* true, then yes there should be legislation against it.
I would like to see someone investigate this situation, or can Elyakim Haetzni provide us with facts and figures?

6. Pick the right wars!
While I agree with the article points (assuming they are correct and true), I'd like to suggest that Israel should pick the right wars to fight at the right time.
Currently we are busy with the Iranians, Hezbollah, Syria, Al Qaeda and Hamas (did I mention PRC, PLO, IJ, etc.) so it seems to be that we're spreading ourselves a bit thin here by trying to save China from itself - especially after receiving some painful lessons from the Russians after supporting Georgia.
Picking up a fight wih China now is not a good policy. We can afford to do that only after we've achieved a solid Peace in the ME - either by destroying unwiling enemies, or by being friendly with enemies who seek true peace and coexistence. We can afford to do that after we've eliminated anti-semitism and racism in the West in places where Extremist Islam controls politics. We can do that after we solved OUR internal problems in education, welfare and corruption.
What possibly can we achieve by slapping China - even if we're right?
Are we bloody MAD?

7. This Kind of Talk Ruined the Olympics
The tradion of using the Olympics as a time for the nations of the world to put aside their differences for friendly competition has been tainted by people pushing their political agendas against China. Shame on you.

8. Except
That Israel benefits mightily from illegal organ trade. The fact is, because of halachic considerations, Israel has an incredibly low donation rate, and many Israelis have to go abroad and purchase organs. Nice try thought.

9. the practice of transplanting organs
leads to murder. It is forbidden to Jews. Israel first. Then we can worry about China.

10. one donor does not necessarily mean one organ
Several organs can be transplanted from one donor, and the donor need not necessarily die: kidneys and liver lobes can be obtained from living donors. As can skin, sometimes harvested fromt he patients themselves. However, from a dead person the following can be obtained: heart, a pair of kidneys for two different people (sometimes kidney and pancreas), lungs, liver, corneas, skin.
In Israel the organs of one donor can save seven lives, and restore the eyesight of two people.
Although Mr. Haetzni has a strong point here, he should be more careful with the count.

12. Medals etc.
Rather than play holier than thou, how about putting an end to the attempt by the orthodox to set up Israel as a theocaracy.
That would really benefit Israel and Judaism.
