1. The God Squad have really lost the plot
Simon ,   TA the free city   (08.26.08)
What is wrong with these people? They seem to think they are above the law, not only do they live off our tax money, do`nt serve in the army yet they bite the hand that feeds them. While preaching "i am hollier than thou" and imposing their life style on others, all this while committing criminal activity in the most violent and disgusting manner. Its time to get tough with them. Now where is that devils device of mine , my MPV4 Player ?
2. Mr Gaydamak what will you do about this?
Simon ,   TA Israel   (08.26.08)
Would love to hear what Mr Gaydamak intends to do about the recent wave of violence and criminal activity from the ultra orthadox, maybe he will wave one of his checks in front of their noses , im sure they will take the bait.
3. Can you believe these people?
Yehudit   (08.26.08)
Safeguarding the Torah is not a crime. It is the destruction of others' properties and endangering the life of others that is the crime, stupid.
4. "Zionazi police" they say .....
Hassa ,   Planet Earth   (08.26.08)
Well, well, well .... this is really funny that Jews are calling the Israeli police "Zionazi" Police. I wonder what this is called in terms of "anti-semitism" and "incitement to hatred."
5. The govt. should sanction the burning down of Shumel's house
This is nothing more ,   than a gang of thugs   (08.26.08)
6. This is misinterpretation of Torah gone awry. Why oh why
would I want to turn ,   ultra-orthadox?   (08.26.08)
7. Show me in Torah where it is sanctioned to do this. Does not
Shalom=nothing miss- ,   ing,nothing BROKEN?   (08.26.08)
8. Know your enemy. Show your teeth.
yehudi ,   palestine   (08.26.08)
Free and democratic society in Israel is in danger. The basics of State are in bitter fight with Haredim, Arabs and ruling Knesset mafia inside the country and countless Islamists and lefties outside. Right assessment of the situation by majority of currently apathetical population is desperately needed. Zionists, wake up and go to the streets! You are loosing the country.
9. Safeguarding the Torah?
Michael ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (08.26.08)
I would have thought that destroying someone's honest livelihood would be a sin according to the Torah. Isn't the destruction of private property considered a crime by the Haredim? If a secular person were to set fire to a Judaica shop in a secular neighborhood, they would be the first ones to demand punishment. Why do they accept double standards? Hypocrisy is also a sin, according to the Torah.
10. Leave the streets as they left them.
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (08.26.08)
Dont send in firefighters to put out the fires, or sanitation workers to clean up. They don't want the State, they shouldn't have any state services.
11. people that burn stores and destroy
moti ,   rbs   (08.26.08)
public property are not religious and definatly not ultra religious- they are stealing and therefor are NOT religous at all..... its wrong to identify them as something they are not!!!!!!!!!! they should make all those that do damage work to pay off the damage they caused and then fine them for the inconveinience caused to others
12. major change
(08.26.08)
the girl in the photo is in pants.
13. Fine people those charidim , not ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.26.08)
I hope not all of them are such criminals , otherwise : where is religion ? Where is : Derech Eretz kedma latorah ?
14. If they aren't Israeli citizens..........
Robert Goldman ,   Kfar Saba, Israel   (08.26.08)
Send them back where they came from..... if they are citizens then send them to JAIL it's rough, tough, plain , yet simple! the second they see that they don't run the world then they will stop acting as they do. or we could go to the extrime. if this guy did burn the store then treat him as a terrorist and distroy his home... it might work
15. orthodox jihad
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (08.26.08)
the natives are restless. look out.
16. Oy Vey!
Petra ,   usa   (08.26.08)
As if they stand a chance...
17. ?! Sinning because of an electrics store?
rachel ,   chutz4now   (08.26.08)
OK...I AM dati, but this is OUT of CONTROL! Since when is it OK to destroy and endanger lives? This makes me want to apologise for being religious!
18. These people need to be clear about what is
(08.26.08)
acceptable behaviour and I sincerely hope the courts deal with them with an appropriate message. As for MP3 and 4 players, I own both and all I listen to is music, mostly religious and smut-free podcasts. If you're inclined to want to listen/see other stuff, you will find it, with or witihout mp3/4 players, Hareidi or not. There is such a thing as self control and restraint which they clearly don't possess.
19. Another Chillul Hashem
Yisrael ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (08.26.08)
More Chillul Hashem from the people whose ancestors brought us the Churban of the Second Temple. No wonder too many Israelis hate Judaism; they think this is it ! It is a Torah of discipline and love, not just discipline !!! We do not need a Jewish Taliban again ie : the Zealots of the last destruction. Rabbis: have you no shame, no yirat shamayim ????
20. #17. you have no reason to apologize.
ari ,   israel   (08.26.08)
I am not religious but grew up in an orthodox house so I truley believe in the torah but for some reason I dont want to or am not responsible enough to obey all the commandments(my problem). being religious is not the problem.it is complete ignorance that causes the problem and that is something most of the haredi in israel have plenty of. some of the best people I have every met are religious. they understand how to combine Gods' laws and the secular world. Dont EVER apologize for having faith in the almighty. hope moshiach shows up soon. We all desperately need help before we destroy ourselves.......
21. Where are you miriam and other fanatics ?
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (08.26.08)
Is this also "charidi bashing" ? Come show us your true hatefilled face . Or , did you become a little bit smarter ? and silenced ?
22. No. 17 Rachel
NYC Girl   (08.26.08)
Don't worry. You're not one of the people who needs to be apologizing. You sound like someone who embodies what we hope a religious person would be, unlike the fanatics who seem to believe they're above the law.
23. Rebuild Store from Their Welfare
Thomas   (08.26.08)
Why do Israelis put up with this? These people demonstrate a complete lack of self control and inability to live in a civilized society. They are the terrible plague upon you. Your tax dollars go to pave the streets they walk upon, the utilities they use everyday, and the welfare they use to care for their ingrateful families. B+H electronics in NYC sells these players and its owned by Satmars so not all anti-Zionist rabbis agree.
24. In the 60's people were proud we had our "very own"criminals
Rami   (08.26.08)
Now we have our very own "shi'ites" !!!
25. #23 Thomas thank you for your concern
Simon ,   TA the free city   (08.26.08)
So i take it you do not live in Israel? still awaiting your reply....
26. Charles # 21 i think i know where they are
Simon ,   TA the free city   (08.26.08)
yes how strange Mirriam and Rivka have all of a sudden fallen silent about their ultra orthodox cousins and their latest display of religious values and morality , maybe they are out their snapping up all those devils devises to save our souls? Praise the Lord !
27. Statements about "The Devil" ? What religion is this?
Abe Froman ,   NY, NY   (08.26.08)
Disturbing. Why is there a Catholic flavor emanating from these statements? Is it a mis-translation?
28. #21 Has nothing better to do than try to taunt a religious
woman so he can ,   pounce on her.So sad   (08.26.08)
29. Just Another Useless Cult
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville, USA   (08.26.08)
Why Israel tolerates these misfits is beyond me. They contribute nothing to the country except constant embarrassment. They are no different to the Islamic fundamentalists other than their bizarre uniforms.
30. #12: Just a Fold In her Dress
emanon ,   USA   (08.26.08)
But her hair is uncovered. How immodest! She should be stoned. Wait . . . maybe they are stoned . . . that would explain the antisocial behavior.
