I think what brod proposes is premature. First, it remains to be determined who orchestrated the kidnapping and why. Second, the response must be appropriate. The retribution for the Munich Massacre was justified given the number of Israelis murdered and the way Black September went about performing the murders. This is a different set of circumstances. Let's solve issue one before deciding what needs to be done. It could be the appropriate response would be the rescue of the businessman as we have no evidence he has been killed.

As an Israeli who regularly travels to Nigeria, all I can say is, he shouldn't have been in the delta region, and if he was, I really hope he is not an oilman. Generally the gunmen release people not involved in the oil industry safe and sound. If he is involved we might need to fear the worst. A lot is going on in Africa in general and Nigeria in particular that goes unreported until the shit hits the fan.
