He is right that at least some missles would hit the arrow & patriots combined would take out most so damage would be as minimal as possible. Israels has 3 problems that will make an attack impossible. 1) The US this close to an election and with Condoliza Rice and Robert Gates around the US wont allow Israel to do anything and Israel has sold so much soverignty to the US since the 80s and is continuing to sell more for short term financial rewards. If the US say no then Israel wont do anything. 2) Israel does not have courageous leaders men like Arik Sharon might have been willing to defy the US and Iran but Olmert, Barak & Livni are all spineless. Even Peres founder of Israels neuclear program was against the attack on Saddams reactor in 1981 because he was worried what France would say about it and begin had to move the attack forward because Peres threatened to go public to put a stop to it. 3) Lack of assets. Iran is ready for an attack Saddam Hussain wasnt and its spread its neuclear sites around the country. Without large numbers of aircraft with stealth capabilities coming all the way from Israel where each jet would have at most 1 bombing run before having to escape Iranian jets & air defenses and back to Israel. The only ones capable of doing this are the US, they have hundreds of fightrers on Irans front door including stealth aircraft. US can take Iran by surprise, sink and make a whole series of bomb runs over various strategic targets like air bases, ships in port, missle launch sites, airt defense batteries F/A 18s, B2 bombers Tomohawk missles. If the US were willing to do it they could Israel though cant. So the Iranaians are right Israel wont attack but for the wrong reasons.
