When I made aliyah 20 years ago, my neighborhood was mixed haredi/secular. Today it is completely haredi. My husband WORKS and I WORK and our sons SERVE IN THE IDF. Haredim have on average 8-9 children per family, dati leumi have 5-6 and seculars have 1-2 children. DEAL WITH IT.

Charedim were the first to start the process of comming back,since the beggings of 1700 s.They came from Poland,Hungary...Many died on the way. They first lived in Tsfat,Pekiín,Tveria....They founded many towns in Israel as Rosh Pinah;Petach Tikvah...They fought with malaria and it was hard...After that Russians start comming,fleeding pogroms...And our history has kept this way-leat leat,but never easily.

The chareidim bring in millions if not billions of dollars from OUTSIDE ISRAEL to support their schhols, kolels families and friends. The gvmnt does not pay enough to support a family. However, that gvmnt does pay plenty to support Arabs with multiple wives and there are plenty of poor NON Charedi unemployed israelis that the gvmnt supports.

Beitar is all charidi and very clean and and example of a well run Charedi city (with out corruption). There are many more non chareidi communities all over israel that are filthy, drug infested and full of corruption. The areas where chareidim live sustain their property values all over the world.
