3. Wrong choice by McCain
Brod ,   USA   (08.29.08)
McCain made the wrong choice for VP. Had he picked Romney his chance of winning in November is more than 50%. Picking an unknown person is risky. At his age, McCain should have picked a proven leader with a thick resume' like Romney who could take over the helm should something happen to him. This will make the Obama Camp happy as they will win by a landslide in November.
4. OUTSTANDING
Gideon Reader   (08.29.08)
A brilliant and wonderful choice. A morally straight former Miss Alaska, an intelligent young (44 yrs)woman; a conservative ideologue with a crime and corruption busting history and tax reducing Govenor with a 90% approval of her personal and job performance in office, who is a Mom, an avid shooter, hunter, fisherwoman, hockey player, basketball player, Dog Sled racer and avid environmentalist. Her eldest son (she has five kids)is an enlistee in the U.S.Army and her youngest is a baby with Down's syndrome. Her husband is a native American Eskimo Indian who is a motorcycle racer, NASCAR racer, shooter and arm wrestling champion. I LOVE this. Kol HaKovod to John McCain and Sarah Heath Palin!!!! Aall in all a perfect choice.

8. Obama, you're roasted!
Semper Fi! ,   San Diego, USA   (08.29.08)
Obama, Osama, you can go home, and please take with you the self loathing jews, take the filth of the New York Times, NBC, ABC or CBS, ACLU and other 5th colum to the sewer where they belong, Specially, I'd like to tell the selfhating morons that are riding around with stickers in Hebrew for Obama, that they could also add in the same language stickers with the Rev Wright or the disgusting Farakhan. Don't be stupid, vote for who defends your country and your people, vote MCCAIN/PALIN and women please learn how to get in shape with her...5 kids and gorgeous!
9. Brilliant
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (08.29.08)
#4, you have it right!! McCain just blew the winds out of the messiah Obama's sails. In one fell swoop, McCain regained the lukewarm support of conservative Republicans, assures the largest migration to the McCain ticket of disaffected Democrat women who wanted Hillary as veep, working Americans who identify with her working class background and husband (a union oil worker). She is as experienced in foreign affairs as Obama and is the ONLY person on either ticket who's had executive political experience as the governor of the largest state in the union. Obama's team is in shock and has been totally disarmed. If they use inexperience as a criticism of Palin, it will be thrown right back in O's face. Checkmate!

a plus on many issues that concern me... but have yet to see her views on foriegn policy.....
11. Hillary, Eat your heart out.
David Powell ,   Everett. Wa. USA   (08.29.08)
What a choice. Sara has class and qualities that Hillary will never have. This could be a historic political coup for the Republicans after the coronation of the messiah the Democrats put on at the Obamaopolus.
12. PALIN

SARAH PALIN WAS RUNNER UP IN THE MISS ALASKA BEAUTY CONTEST. IT'S ABOUT TIME WE HAD A HOT CANDIDATE

14. #3 You are so wrong
Toad ,   LA   (08.29.08)
If McCain had chosen Romney, he would have lost the Christian vote and wouldn't have enough votes to beat Obama. By choosing Palin, he pleased the Christian crowd, the feminist crowd, the independents, and the crowd that needs eye candy. Ridge would also have been a bad pick. Huckabee wouldn't satisfy everybody. Who is Pawlenty? Palin was his only viable choice to win the presidency. Biden and Obama are great speakers, but a thinking, moral woman beats the old traditional "new change" those two liberals represent. McCain has a fighting chance now.
15. It's a gutsy move. And it's not Rice.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (08.29.08)
There was some wild speculation that McCain would "double down", choosing Clueless Condi - female *and* African-American - but as head of NSC then State, she's so tied to the Bush legacy such a choice would have been insane. Instead he's chosen a popular reformer with a reputation as a "barracuda". She doesn't have the foreign policy cred that someone like long shot Eric Cantor - Congress' sole Jewish Republican - has. But if she's a quick study and has a good team behind her she'll be ready. This is definitely a gutsy move. The Obama/Biden team is already talking about her "inexperience" - as if Obama has accomplished anything except move up to the next job.
16. Palin on Israel, anyone?
golden chen ,   Seattle USA   (08.29.08)
Does anyone know anything about her stance on defending and supporting Israel? Or her religious background? YNET took their news off the wires, so she must be no news to them thus far...
17. YES MACCAIN- NOBAMA !
(08.29.08)
18. Great strategy on McCains camp NOT to release this until now
No bump in polls for ,   Nobama for sure now.   (08.29.08)

Huckabee or Romney would have helped McCain win. An unknown rookie would be disastrous. The only Christians that may have a problem with Romney are the few bigoted leaders. They still do not know the followers of Jesus even though Romney has publicly declared that Jesus is his LORD. To assume that having a woman VP would attract Hillary's supporters is insulting. It assumes that Hillary's supporters are idiots who could not think for themselves. We are Hillary supporters as do millions of others. We were looking forward to voting for McCain had he choosen Romney or Huckabee. Now we will not be voting for McCain. We may most likely return back to the fold and vote for Obama. Obama is an exceptional leader. Like Bill Clinton, Obama has a brilliant intellect and is a gifted orator. He is also a visionary leader. And he is able to learn and deal with challenging issues quickly. Far from being Leftists, the Obama Team is Centrists.
22. Ovious HAIL MARY from a desperate McCain
GZLives   (08.29.08)
Those saying this is a good pick don't have a clue. Hey, the guy's been saying Obama doesn't have the experience and then he choses Palin? It points out Obama's claim that McCain has bad judgment. He picks someone with zero foreign policy experience while America is currently in two wars? Not to mention he's in his 70's ... might as well swear in Obama NOW .. why bother. Expect a landslide for Obama
23. #16 She has fought for and won the respect of the Jewish
community here. A ,   real friend 2 Israel   (08.29.08)
24. With one stroke of brilliancy, McCain has turned the Nomaba

Congratulation, you are super: no one ever described the putrid, ACLU ghetto Jews and this Brod guy #3 than you did.
26. #14, Not so fast kimosabe. You mean McBushie even knows...
InstantNoodle   (08.29.08)
what he's talking about. Last time I checked the "feminist crowd" and the independents were not clamoring to get anyone remotely resembling Sarah Palin, who is an obscure politician from a remote state. I'm glad that you think so, because I believe the McBushie-Palin due is nothing but a pair of sacrificial lambs. McCain was put there because the GOP KNOWS it doesn't a prayer to reach the WH in the coming elections. Sarah has been put there for window dressing. No thinking feminist nor independent voter would even consider these two. Doubt it? What until these two announce their "feminist" and "independent" party platform.
27. #15. Boy you guys ARE reaching for starws.
Persian CAT   (08.29.08)
And that's exactly what the GOP bottom dwellers are going to get. If Sarah Palin-McCain/Bush impress you as a couple not "tied to the Bush legacy", then I suggest that you start reading more. McCain/Bush has voted more than %90 pro-Bush and no one knows what his number 2 is even thinking. All I can I fee you pain.
28. Amajinebad better not tell any more Alaska Jokes
Alan ,   SA   (08.29.08)

Malone   (08.29.08)
most of Hillarys supporters were women who wanted her simply because she is a woman. Most of Nobamas supporters are black, simply because he is. These are not the qualifications required for the role of President. Maybe Sarah Palin will satisfy the frustrated feminists out there. Maybe not,who knows.
30. Brod #21

Brod ...obama is also a basically unknown rookie, yet you want him for the Presidency? I meant to say that in my first post.
