1. The liberation of Gilead Shalit.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (08.31.08)
Only a complet closure of the borders of the Gaza Strip, no electricity, no fuel no food, no humanitarian and medical assistance, nothing, without any exception as long as needed, will bring to the liberation of Gilead Shalit. There should be no other option. More over the problem of kidnapped soldiers at : http://xrl.us/em3de
2. Jews' condemnation
(08.31.08)
November 14, 1946, London. The Board of Deputies of British Jews condemned Jewish terrorist groups who threatened to export their terrorism to England.
3. Sorry Miki...
Hertzel ,   Tiberias   (08.31.08)
Sorry Miki, I firmly believe that you have contributed to the weekenning of Israel. With all due respect, what you pushed for, and now doing the same for Gilad, will bring no security to the children of Israel, BUT MORE UBDUCTIONS-YOU DONT NEED TO BE TOO SMART TO UNDERSTAND THAT.
4. Miki ,watch your ass baby
(09.01.08)
otherwise it will be ubducted by terrorist!
5. Part #1 - "...a State..."
PK ,   Hong Kong   (09.01.08)
Miki, You speak of Israel as if it were some distant nation for which you were sending your soldiers to fight and die for. May I remind you that your son was defening HIS nation, HIS people, HIS friends and HIS family...not some strangers half a world away! You make it sound like the soldiers are doing someone else a favor. The only favor they are doing is for themselves and their loved ones!
6. Part #2 - "...abandons its children?"
PK ,   Hong Kong   (09.01.08)
Miki, Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't your son and Regev soldiers? Reservists in their late twenties or early thirties I believe. Not exactly little children playing tag! I guess "children" is much more emotive.
7. Part #3 "...but I doubt whether you heard the mothers..."
PK ,   Hong Kong   (09.01.08)
Miki, How do you know that the mothers of the terror victims didn't plead for terrorists with "blood on their hands" not be released? Why, because you think that your son is worth more than theirs, that your love for your son is greater than theirs? That's pretty presumptuous of you...and pretty rude and nasty!
8. Part #4 Ron Arad
PK ,   Hong Kong   (09.01.08)
Miki, Perhaps I'm wrong, but as I recall, didn't Arad's family specifically state that they didn't want to trade for a dead body? Why didn't you, the Regevs and your supporters do the same? Once you forced the weak willed leaders to capitulate (including the release of the baby killer), Israel could have demanded, at the last moment, proof of life. Obviously, if the soldiers were alive they certainly would have provided in order not to scuttle the deal. If they refused, it would have been obvious that they were dead! Unlike the Arads, you were willing to free terrorists in order to get a dead body. Bottom line, you freed your son's killers (at least one of the captured hizzies was involved in the initial attack). The price for burying your son's body was the freeing of his killers! Was that really a good deal? How do you feel now? I had thought that Israelis hated to be suckers!
9. Part #5 "Gilad is not our government's top priority."
PK ,   Hong Kong   (09.01.08)
Miki, I should hope that the fate of one individual is not the top priority of the government! Israel is a nation of over seven million with major problems/issues. The primary one has to do with the security of millions. No individual(s) is more important than the collective well being of those millions of citizens. I hate to sound cold, but this is the sad reality. What price should Israel pay for Gilad? 1000, 2000, the emptying of all the jails? Once all the terrorists have been released, then what? Should Israel then start giving up tracts of land? Where does it all end? The sad truth is that Israel/Israelis need to be willing to pay a price and that price is the lives of some of its citizens. If you're not willing to pay that price, then you might as well pack up and move away. Perhaps I'm wrong, but it seems to me that Israelis have become very selfish and self-centered. They'd like someone else to pay the price, but not them. Lastly, when Olmert made his "tired" speech, he obviously was not speaking only of himself. It appears as though it was representative of a substantial portion of the citizenry.
10. #3 I agree 100%. Why did she not voice this before her son
came back in a box ,   It is all so sad. rj   (09.01.08)
11. My sympathies
Steven A. ,   California, USA   (09.01.08)
Mrs Goldwasser, please accept my condolences for your loss. The tragic situation with Ehud and Gilad is of great concern to Israelis and Jews worldwide. However I have come to believe that trading 1000 Palestinian prisoners for one Israeli soldier is wrong. Furthermore, Israel is being held hostage for the sake of one soldier. It's time to rethink the policy.
12. Just imagine...
Ilan ,   Ariel   (09.01.08)
What if the government had put the welfare of Shalit ahead of that of your son and negotiated with Hamas first? After all the indications were pretty clear that Elad and Ehud were killed in the initial attack. Of course, you put on the pressure and now Hamas wants a many times the number of terrorists freed because they have a live and not dead soldiers So maybe you are not such a genius when it comes to strategy and the government would be wiser to ignore your advice. They can't correct the mistakes of the past, but for a better future.....
13. Hezbullah has to change tactics
(09.01.08)
Using explosive devices was not the ideal to capture soldiers. those gives a lot of uncontrollable shrapnels. The Palestinians were ahead of Hezbullah in using direct attack with light weapons. Hezbullah has to target military bases where soldiers are outside armored vehicles.

lea ,   sherman oaks ca usa   (09.02.08)
Yes,Israel does care for all our captured soldiers/civilians both dead & alive.. Yet freeing Kuntar or any Muslim w' blood on their hands will only lead to more kidnappings thus must stop.. Kuntar by bludgening 4 yr old child to death has lost his right to be treated as a human being by such a depraved act.. G-D Bless you, your,Israel & All Jews.. Shalom
20. YOUR SILENCE ABOUT KUNTAR!!
Tom ,   USA   (09.03.08)
How can you, a mother of a soldier who was intentionally murdered by Hezbollah, how can you have allowed and accepted to have the dead corpse of your son exchanged against someone like Kuntar who murdered a mother and her child? How can you have done that? The recent exchange of two dead bodies (one of them being your son) will, in the future, be directly responsible for the taking of Israelis as hostages!!! And instead of being kept alive, now they will be killed and Hezbollah will ask the Israelis for another of this awful exchange of dead corpses for murdered of Israelis who are still alive. As a responsible Israeli woman, I did not hear you say a single word against exchanging dead Israeli corpses for murderers of Israelis. I might be wrong on this point but, if I am not, you should be really ashamed of yourself.
