33. Please read #26, and note
shrinkDave ,   Miami USA   (09.07.08)
what the writer is saying; he says that Israelis expect him to die for Israel. This is called delusional. As an IDF vet, no one even dreamed of such a thing. Then he says that Israelis: whine, and attack the defenceless. Whine, well yeah. Even the delusional can hear that. But attack the defenceless, plus expect Americans to die for Israel? Take your pick, either delusional, or antisemetic with an antizionist mask.
34. Finding additional allies in the international arena

Why not explore the peace offer from the Arab League? Doesn't it include some kind of mutual defense arrangement?
35. #17 MAD is irrelevant
ben Ish   (09.06.08)
The MAD deterrent effect relied on massive bilateral nuclear retaliation, back when 20 MT nukes were in fashion. Back then it made sense. Unfortunately today the smallest nukes are smaller than the largest conventional weapons. This opens the door for a commander to reason perhaps it is better to deploy nuclear bunker busters because they are actually much smaller than MOAB or FOAB. A .3kt nuke vs 2kt thermobaric device, (5kt for FOAB.) What does that do to the escalation dynamic now? Think about it. MAD needs to be recognized as OBSOLETE. No one needs to rely on nuclear destruction. It's expensive, inneficient, bloody, and counter-productive compared to HEMP. Should Russia hit the US with one HEMP attack, the US would probably not counter attack at all, because of domestic chaos engulfing the continent. They would overwhelmed just simply tending to these problems, because the only remaining choice is to initiate a non-recoverable bilateral annihilation, thus condemning the entire globe. With 10,000 people starving to death at home every day, US will be overcome with damage control vs. imminent demise. Therefore, pre-emptive Russian HEMP vs US means a cakewalk win for Putin. It is very inexpensive by comparison, highly effective, there is little chance of retaliation. He doesn't have to irradiate three hundred million civilians, and spread cancer across the entire planet. He can simply turn off the power and computers and ask politely for US to "Sign here please..." ANY orbital-capable nation with 52 kilos of U-235 has the technology to disable the US. Iran can do the same to Israel, and they don't even need to orbit. Not only does Shahab 3 have the range, payload and altitude to do so, that is -also- precisely the test protocol they declared successful two months ago. There is little we would be able to do but acquiesce to our neighbors demands, or else launch whatever 5 to 15kt missiles we have hardened and ready to go. Retaliatory nuclear action by Israel almost certainly leads to open global warfare, and therefore Israel is not likely to respond to regional EMP by Iran, who is not deterred by apocalyptic scenarios. Therefore our only option now is pre-emptive non-nuclear deterrence to deny them this capability, before they have the requisite U-235, which is likely the only remaining obstacle for them.

I think you missed my point; I was being sarcastic and subtly suggesting that depending on any other nation to defend us is dangerous. In the final analysis, Israel can depend only on itself (provided we get rid of those in the political echelon who want to give everything to the Arabs).

the strong fact is as question . but it is not a comedy it is a serouse object . and it is only one sentence so from my point it is likely to be a fact

I'm interested in how oil affects politics as much as the next person, but I'm unsure of where you got that Georgia went after Russia's pipelines. The conflict happened in Georgia and there are shareholders in the pipeline that goes through it, however Russia isn't one of them. It is supposed to decrease Western dependence on oil from Russia. It was reported that Russia tried to bomb it several times and missed.
39. 17 Stewart: Ever heard of Jane's ships review?
Rivkah   (09.07.08)
Read it and weep. Krushchev may be dead, but his plans are not. He said communism would bury America, not quickly, but slowly. Haven't you noticed how socialistic the Democrat Party as become? The Democrats became communists, in fact. The Republicans became Democrats and I became an Independent. Krushchev's war plans are the same today as in the 1950's according to Soviet defector former KGB Colonel Stanislav Lunev. Read his book, "Through the Eyes of the Enemy" and listen to his lectues from the Prophecy Club of Topeka, Kansas, to get a clue. There are none so blind as they who will not see, as the song goes.

East puzzle", by Bill Salhus. Before the Magog-Gog war of Ezekiel chapter 38and 39 happens....Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Palestinians, and the Lebanese attack israel...THEN Russia and Muslim nations other than those above attack Israel WHEN...Israel has an exceeding great Army (Ezekiel 37:10), the execution of judgments on those who despise Israel occurs (Ezekiel 28:25)...Israel will be dwelling securely (yashab betach) (Ezekiel 28:26)...israel will have acquired ARal lands and a great plunder (Obadiah 1:19 and Jeremiah 49:2)...Israel will become one of the wealthiest nations on earth (Zephaniah 2:7 & 9). THEN events of Revelation happen like the trumpets and the vials, etc. if those have not happened already. Irvin Baxter thinks some of the events of Revelation have already happened, but others think they are yet future.
41. dependent
solo man   (09.07.08)
Whether America will or won't come to Israel's defence may be in question .But -about assistance from any other potential supporter -there can be no doubt. As long as Israel remains dependent on American advanced weaponry or the weaponry (if there were anything worth having)from any other country it has little choice.Who else could we look to ?
42. Bush, doublespeak, arab spin-what's the difference?
marlene ,   Philadelphia, USA   (09.07.08)
NO - period! Bush just made a statement, saying "you cannot negotiate with terrorists" or appease them, while out of the other side of his untrustworthy, duplicitous mouth, he orders Israel to "do as I say, not as I go" in negotiating and appeasing the arab muslim occupiers.

Is this guy for real? Good luck getting ultra-liberal Europe to support you. And FYI: Both candidates for the presidency fully support Israel. How about you do a little research before trying to write an article? Get a CLUE!

Hi, yes sometimes messages won't post depending on the times of day. I couldn't get into the article you had mentioned, (it said something about the file being corrupt). I did read one of the other articles and it said that Russia is very concerned with it's dominance in oil, and I could see where it would be one of their major sources of power. Other countries may not like us trying to pursue other energy suppliers, but at least they cannot stop us from conserving energy in our homes. I'm going to look for ways to use less energy and to maybe use solar.
46. 45 Marilyn: There is another wasy to the article...

The writers of thsi artical are either fools ignoramouses or amateurs. They made no researsh Her are some true facts for them to study. America relies on Israel. America never gave Israel 1 dollar. It is cheaper to supply planes and arms than to pay unemployment The 3billion dollars package is repaid . America uses Israel as a testing ground for thier equipment.Proof-Phantom planes against russian migs?F16 against french mirages.british Harrier planes Bombs as used against Iraq with the neuclare ,bombs used in Lebenon.America gets off cheap for the research and developement that Israel does with american arms. Americans know Israel is reliable because of the connection with all the jews in America.

Sister, I don't recall Mr Obama saying he will appease anybody. He seeks to find a new path for our country that doesn't exclude war, just makes it the last option. Unlike the wonderful 8 last years where they will invent proof to murder innocent people to appease the Defense Industry and Lobbyists.
49. 45 Marilyn: There is another article that explains why
Rivkah   (09.10.08)
Georgia attacked Russia and then Russia attacked back in another place. Saakashvilli of Georgia agreed to let Israeli drone planes fly bombing missions to take out the Iranian nuclear sites. By attacking Russia, Saakashvilli gave Russia an excuse to attack the Israeli sites in Georgia and seize the drone aircraft. It was all a ruse to hinder Israel. Charles Wheeling's email newsletter today printed the article by Justin Raimondo at www.antiwar.com for September 3, 2008.

Jake   (09.11.08)
" I have never heard of Israelis dying at the hands, or on behalf, of the US" Oh really? And what about the first few days of the Yom Kippur War, when Kissinger gave the wink and the nod to Syria and Egypt to, as he put it "give Israel a bloody nose", while at the same time warning "If Israel strikes first, she will not get so much as a nail." You are NO SAINTS, believe you me!
