1. US Electorate
Jon ,   USA   (09.09.08)
Let's face it. The U.S. electorate is the dumbest and most ignorant in the world. We elect people because of their personalities not their abilities. We care more about their personal lives than their stand(if they have one) on the issues. Proof-the incompetent in the White House. We are fast becoming a second rate power.
2. Bush, Obama and Osama
Richard ,   New York   (09.09.08)
Bush was the best prez we had in 30 years. He crashed Afganistan, Iraq, Libia, Algeria, Pakistan, Somalia. No ressesion in his last 7 years (in 2001 we had Clinton's ressesion). Finally, Obama killed himself when he said on Sunday ABC show that he is a Muslem (the interview corrected him and said that Obama is "Christian"). Obama is finished.
3. Jon, Imbiber of Media Kool Aid
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (09.09.08)
Jon, despite its deleterious effect on your cognitive powers, I hope the Kool Aid tasted good. The mainstream media has been on an incessant rant, fueled by the Liberals' visceral hatred of President Bush ever since his election in 2000. Bush is a 'moron,' he stole the election from Gore, on and on ad nauseam. They have confused a few poor souls, exemplified by Jon, about our president. The history books will judge President Bush more kindly, once the envious riff raff falls into the historical dustbin. Truman faced the same garbage and is now seen as a principled, honest and successful leader. Bush will, too. If the US elects Obama (increasingly unlikely), Jon's description of the electorate as being the "the dumbest and most ignorant in the world" will be seen as quite prescient.
4. We will do well when McCain/Palin become our leaders
dan ,   USA   (09.09.08)
5. Trust
Rick Smol ,   Los Angeles Ca. USA   (09.09.08)
You choose your friends on the basis of trust. You choose your mate on the basis of trust. You do business deals on the basis of trust. You choose your leaders on the basis of trust. You can trust John McCain. You cannot trust Obama. Simple.
6. Robert: brainwashed by radical right
Jon ,   U.S.   (09.09.08)
"Accomplishments" of Bush: 1.Disastrous war in Iraq instead of going after Qaida in Afghan/Pak. Military drained. 2. U.S. no longer influential in world politics. 3. Israel's enemies-Iran Hamas, Hizbullah more powerful than ever. 4.Middle class shrinking while wealthy get richer (is that you?) 5.Millions without jobs or homes.
7. The real obama is unelectable
davedude ,   dallas, texas USA   (09.09.08)
Obama's political career was launched at the home of Bill Ayers, a terrorist. Bill Ayers got Obama his first administrative job. Ayers is trying to change the education system in Chicago to produce leftist revolutionaries and Obama helped him to do it. No wonder hamas endorses Obama. Obama's people try very hard to keep his past activity unkown, the real Obama is unelectable. This ynetnews article is a soft puffball peice that cuts obama way too much slack. I wonder why?
8. Palin is waiting for McCain to pass away.
Janet Keno ,   Baltimore   (09.09.08)
Palin want to be president. That will put the final nail in USA's coffin.
9. Best President?
Just Me   (09.09.08)
If I remember correctly 2001 Bush was president and he did everything he can to sink the country into a recession even deeper. By the way, the US is in a recession now. So far Bush crushed no-one, the two countries he should have crushed (Afganistan & Saudi Arabia) are aline & kicking.
10. Bounce from the convention
Just Me   (09.09.08)
There is always a bounce to the candidates after the convention, even though McCain's (or shall I say Palin) is a big one. McCain need to do better seperating himself from Bush. Sarah "Baracuda" need to start preparing to debate "Joey the Shark". The first election I remember where I'm looking forward to the VP debates.
11. #6, Dem Talking Points
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (09.09.08)
Have you auditioned for the Obama campaign? Seems I have heard these a lot recently. Truth? #1 War a success. Obama himself had to admit it. #2 The mere fact you're reading this in a foreign news outlet belies your assertion. The US sneezes...the world catches a cold. #3 Such Kool Aid logic! By extension FDR empowered Hitler Hirohito and Mussolini, as he was president of the US in the 30's. #4 Top 1% income pays 40% of taxes. Bottom 40% pay NO taxes. #5 Unemployment average under Bush: 5.1 Clinton 5.2 (http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/01/bush-unemployment-at-50-bad-clinton.html)...And that's despite 9/11, Katrina and the Enron debacle.
12. Why does every tinpot AfroAsian S. Ameri dictator love Obama
Alan ,   SA   (09.09.08)
Look at the list of his distinguished friends . They scare me stiff. My Cat has a better chance of winning the California Surfing Contest than him winning the Presidency
13. Obama never had a lead to lose. I
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (09.09.08)
have read article after article that stated Obama's huge lead over McCain, the article would clearly state that Obama had a 12 point lead, offer a online poll and it constantly showed Mcain with the double digit lead. Over and over. Obama's lead has been like his presidental run. Media driven hype and wishful thinking. I'm not the only one to notice it several commenters on these news stories have stated the facts also
14. #6&#8 Tut,tut, tut, y'all are just pissed off cause you know
Nobama LOST by not ,   choosing Billary!!!!   (09.09.08)
15. #6 jon are you on drugs ?
Elchonon ,   Chevron   (09.09.08)
1.Disastrous war in Iraq instead of going after Qaida in Afghan/Pak. Military drained. ?? sorry must be a right wing cover up the fact that we have widely succeeded in iraq. We crushed al quada in ieaq and afghanstan. 2. U.S. no longer influential in world politics. Blame the state department, they run their own show. 3. Israel's enemies-Iran Hamas, Hizbullah more powerful than ever. See above, and blame falls on olmert's cowardice and helping the enemy. 4.Middle class shrinking while wealthy get richer (is that you?) My father is middle class, blame high taxes.. high gas prices (why arent we drilling?!?) 5.Millions without jobs or homes. Again, high taxes.. high cost of oil due to congress refusing to drill in alaska etc.. So we elect obama who raises taxes.. hurts the middle class and doles out welfare ? Kick the bum's off welfare and force them to get jobs!!
16. "popularity among the younger generation" ?
redmike ,   Tel Aviv   (09.09.08)
Obama lost much of the younger generation when he selected Biden and they are now singing "we used to love him but it's all over now". How can you promote 'change' and Biden at the same time? Attacking Palin was a huge mistake. How can democrats say that a woman with children should stay home with them? It is highly doubtful that Obama will recover now and he is losing support in almost every State. McCain worries me because he talks of confronting Russia when the US needs to make it a friend and not alienate it, which was Condo's big mistake. Russia doesn't need America and it can shut down Europe in just few days. Hopefully McCaine is just seeking votes when threatening Russia. Mike
17. Obama... All talk... No action
Joseph ,   Fort Lauderdale, US   (09.09.08)
Obama is a great orator. Considering he is a Harvard Law grad you could not expect less. However, as a leader he has done nothing in the Senate and his story makes him an unknown. With no history of successful legislation or other act, what are you voting for. The American people need more than words or empty promises. Words are just hot air.
18. Palin's hype will fade
Daniel ,   Texas, USA   (09.09.08)
As a Republician and evangelical Christian, I and many of my brothers and sisters see Sarah Palin as a ploy to exploit our beliefs for political gains. Her past is incredibly questionable and both her and McCain change their opinions more times then wind changes direction. McCain and Palin are opportunists and diabolical. We as a Christian nation cannot be fooled again!
19. Palin exhibits Love, Compassion and Leadership!
BJL ,   us   (09.09.08)
Obama hasn't done squat but write 2 books about Himself. Me Me Me.....
20. in a democracy,abortion benefite those who don't.
anthony delturco ,   usa   (09.09.08)
pro-choicers haven't figured out the reason they can still appear to keep roe-v-wade even though they have reduced their demographics by 50 million over the last 35 years.DUH.It is because christianity wants to keep abortion. How else can their leaders rid themselves of those they consider undesireable. Still dont'see it? Okay. How 'bout this. pro-lifers increase because they have large families. 50 million lost plus 70 million gained added to the already large pro-life demographic should mean getting abortion terminated would be easy.either thru a national referendum or pressure on congress. we have 5 catholic supreme court justices. Still don't see it? Okay,....The catholic church controls the balance of christianity AND both parties. They chose Obama to both give black americans a psuedo-equality appearance and to keep Mccain from wining by too huge a margin. You see,if he did, then it would be all to apparant that 80% of the country wants abortion banned. This way,pro-life blacks vote for Obama anyway and no one notices just how many pro-life voters there are. This enables christianity to keep abortion thru the appearance of an equally devided country. The voting base gets none the wiser. smoke and mirrors. Mccain is tapped for the presidentcy. obama is a schill.he and biden will throw the race.Oh,ever so subtly of course with little fopahs like: "we will be as careful getting out of Iraq as we were going in" or "...my muslim faith..." get it? Mccain will pull close to 60% of the vote, even that makes the papacy nervous.
21. What happened to Obama was.....
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (09.09.08)
"Sarah Barracuda." Whether we admit it openly or not, we admire feisty women and Ms. Palin is one feisty woman. http://townhall.com/Columnists/ChristopherMerola/2008/09/09/i_am_palin,_hear_me_roar?page=2
22. Palin
Diane ,   Canada   (09.09.08)
Would you want a 'butterfly to run the great USofA.? Palin 'flittered from University to University and flitters from Church to church. A sign that she does not have stability. She claims to be anti-abortion yet will allow one if the Mother's life is in danger. Babies can be carried to full term even when conceived in the fallopian tube. And, she thinks that children should be taught about the use of condoms. So, it is okay to have premaritial sex. Great advive for the youth. However, should they become pregnant then it is okay - an unmarried Mother is a good thing to be - at least she did not abort her baby. Give me a break! Double standards galore!
23. Kind of weird
jen zuskis ,   milano, italy   (09.10.08)
OsAMA BInlaDEN ObAMA - BIDEN Isn't it?
24. Claude Raines for President?
Gideon Reader   (09.10.08)
What happened to( the inarticulate san teleprompter),Obama is that there is only so much time before an empty suit, devoid of any executive experience or positive employment experience can remain as a serious candidate for the office of President. He never was in charge of anything. Never operated a business. Never made a payroll. Never sponsored serious legislation. Never reaally voted for serious legislation. Never commanded troops, or even a small workforce. Never did , well anything. Not even a job as a Pizza delivery man. And possible his only experience in a commercial venture, utilizing his own words may have been as a cocaine/marijuana retailer. Oh yes. He was a "community organizer"/ Whatever that is. So long to the 42 Long with no one in it. Obama is what used toi be know as a Luftmensch. An air man.
25. Presidential election-2008
Ashley St.Claire ,   campsprings, MD. U.S   (09.10.08)
9-9-2008 Dear Professor, After agreeing with all your points, may I say Senator Obama would have easily become the next president of the United States had he picked the most capable senator avilable, Hillary Clinton. Now, I am not so sure. I think the presidency is for Senator McCain to loose. Ashley St.Claire
26. Obama is on the decline because people are beginning to
Rivkah   (09.10.08)
understand what he wants to do to America and Americans, as outlined in the book, "The Audacity of Deceit" by Brad O'Leary. It is quite shocking.
27. Obama
Yisraeli   (09.10.08)
Obama will go down in history as the candidate that lost the un-loseable election. So confident of himself with a bursting ego he would hold in contempt the idea of Hilary as VP and didnt choose her on his ticket. Had he taken Hillary Clinton as VP, I would say he would be assured of victory almost 100%. But his inflated ego got in the way. I for one am terribly pleased, I have no love for either of them. But he doomed his own candidacy, quite amazing actually. McCain showed he knows how to win unlike Obama by choosing S.Palin. That was a game, set and match move. Checkmate Obama you silly little boy.
28. Palin
Yisraeli   (09.10.08)
And for those that may denigrate Palin's inexperience. Let me tell you I would still prefer Palin. The Commander in Chief has many experienced advisors to advise from all angles. But its the Commanders decision and I would trust Palin to do what it right, morally and ethically even if its not the path of least resistance. But I cant say the same for the Demo camp, they would choose the simplest way out and compromise morally and ethically and choose to appease ones enemies. I would trust Palin anyday over Obama even if combined with Hillary. So inexperience for the top job doesnt count for all that much theyre all inexperienced as commander in chief. But what counts is the individual making the right choice especially when faced with hard choices and I see Palin as one with the 'kahoonas' to do the right thing. PS. How pertinent has that 1 season series Commander in Chief become. It shows the exact scenario that Palin might have to face. Check out: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0429455/
29. Marxist Media darling
Claudia ,   Tampa USA   (09.10.08)
This guy is going down hill faster than Keith Olbermann! Away from his teleprompters Obama cannot formulate coherent thoughts, let alone string together more than a sound bite! He is the worst stump speaker I've ever heard. Reason? He is a liberal Maxist with no decent ideas for a republic!
30. Obama is not white like McCain . . .
robin ,   israel   (09.10.08)
he didn't choose Hilary Clinton because it would have been too big a gamble-a black person and a woman on the same ticket. McCain is old and in the staid republican party, and he is old school "white"; he needed Palin, who even though she is a woman, is also white, conservative and close to a Christian fundamentalist-on all fronts it was good for him.
