1. People like Shalev believe their interactions are useful
Fantuchi   (09.25.08)
Remember, these leftists really BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES they BELIEVE that their interactions with Gentiles CONVINCE the outside world to love admire and respect the Jews and Israel. Yes, they are fools, but even when DISAPPOINTED even when FACED WITH EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY they will never ever let go of their humanistic (man is basically good) beliefs. That is their RELIGION.
2. NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (09.25.08)
So what many people met and hugged A. Hitler , because they agreed with him. There are many people who agree with the monkey from Iran . Stop whining already and do someting to stop this Islamfacist , take him out, it is as simple as that.
3. President Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann, LIKES Ahmadinejad
Simha ,   Toronto, CANADA   (09.25.08)
maybe they share common values!
4. the UN is a cesspool, but no one admits it
bernard ross ,   st anns bay,jamaica   (09.25.08)
none of these actions should be surprising. simply see who the constituents of the UN are. Belonging to such an organisation is like belonging to a criminal conspiracy
5. SEPTIMUS MAY BE ABLE TO COMMENT
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.25.08)
6. Who are the terrorists who put him there?!
Enzo ,   London,UK   (09.25.08)
7. THE UN out of the USA !
mike cato ,   USA   (09.26.08)
I urge all Americans reading this forum to contact US Rep. Tom Tancredo, expressing your support in his effort to expel the rotten UN from the USA. His tel# in Wash. DC is:202-225-7882 He may also be contacted by filling out a comment form on his website. http://tancredo.house.gov/
8. The UN
Ricaro Macher ,   KarneiShomron Israel   (09.26.08)
The question is why we are still sitting there (in the UN) and trying to convince ourselves that UN's opinion is important. UN is a circus where the powerful countries have the chance to veto everything they don't like and the others feel clever insulting however they don't agree with. This is the West's way to clean their conscience and is worth zero!
9. U.S.A.SHOULD CUT OUT UN FUNDING TO PRESERVE ITS PRESTIGE AND
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (09.26.08)
10. Brockmann
Jew ,   Israel   (09.26.08)
The name Brockmann sounds German so maybe he is the son or grandson of a Nazi. It is known that many Nazis fled to South and Central America after World War Two.
11. Umm Shmumm
Yisraeli   (09.26.08)
Maybe we will see a McCain/Palin give notice to the UN to get out of their country. And propose a new "League of Democratic Nations" to be innagurated in the former UN building. Invite all legitimate democracies with human rights values to join, this would exclude China, Russia and all the dictators and despots of the world. And make NATO its army. They to would have to resign and withdraw any support from the defunct UN. Then of course transfer USA's embassy to Jerusalem. The UN has become most insignificant and the cause for much strife in the world, time to relagate it to the dustbin of history and start afresh but this time do it right.
12. Bizare friendships & alliances
Joe ,   Canada   (09.26.08)
The fondness of the Nicaraguan president of the U.N. for the Iranian president Ahmadinejad would normally be considered very odd if it was not a recurrent display by other dignitaries regarding other despots. The main reason for this outrageous behaviour is the unrelenting intention to snipe back at the USA for its perceived past or current foreign affairs policies. How otherwise explain that emerging countries so proud of their newly acquired freedom (from foreign influence or from a local dictator) tie up with authoritarian or fanatic regimes they would not tolerate at home? Look at Venezuela & Russia cozying with Iran & Syria. Russia already tried that tactic with very bad consequences when it made a pact with nazi Germany in 1940 in the hope it would shift Hitler's ambitions to the west instead of to the east. To this main reason one can add economic politics which lead even democratic countries such as India or the USA to support such regimes as in Burma or Saudi Arabia.
13. cesspool
colin   (09.26.08)
Before the holocast in germany nobody believed the jews when they spoke of incitement. Now the president of the anti Israeli UN has started the same system. He talks and is followed by Iran whose speecjes are only against Israel Brittan used to say the jews were liers__history proved that Brittan was the idiot.
14. WHY DID HE EMBRACE HIM ? ....LONELY MAYBE ?
..............DACON9   (09.26.08)
15. Israel...God loves YOU and so do I

To God be the Glory Great things He continues to do daily! Amen God came in the flesh and shed HIS precious pure blood for our sins so that we would be cursed free! and left with HIS HOLY SPIRIT to act in guidance for us a the greatest counselor and comfortor and out of love for the love give us JOY of knowing the truth that gives us strength and purpose and an eternal promise!
16. The reason he embraced him....
Matt C ,   Canada   (09.26.08)
Miguel embraced the Iranian President after his anti-Semitic speech because he is a multiculturalist. Multiculturalists want to believe that all people are basically good; therefore, all problems in the world are the fault of western civilisation. Muslim anti-Semites exploit this belief system as Israel is unavoidably identified with the west. This is why the idealism of multiculturalism has become the biggest source of anti-Semitism by far.
17. Surprise, surprise with Brockmann
Genuine Tosefta ,   Tveria   (09.26.08)
Brockmann is actually an American citizen born in LA although currently he is also a citizen of Nicaragua and government minister under Ortega.
18. UN is USELESS
Michael Ezrachi ,   St. Louis, USA   (09.26.08)
UN General Assembly President Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann should learn his history, the reason why a Palestinian State was not established in 1947, as part of the partition plan was because the arabs rejected the partition plan. Israel and the US, should disassociate themselves with the UN. The UN is an anti-Semitic organization.
19. To Mahmood 5
Septimus ,   Rome   (09.26.08)
For Mahmood, waiting so deerly for my comments: Who cares the opinion from Nicaragua, one the poorest and undevelopped country in central America, who act here not from love of the wicked Shiite entity, but mere by hate of teh US, like the other Latino madman, Chavez. They would lick the feet of aliens if they where anti-american. So what Mahmood ? If your fake regime see the huggings of a Nicaraguayan envoy as a victory, it shows the level where iran dumped itself. This will not make the destruction of iran 's criminal installations less likely. Your regime is doomed.
20. Amedinajad's speech and the lack of outrage from all people
robin ,   Israel   (09.26.08)
Where is the media? Where is the outrage from presidents and prime ministers from the international community. Shame on Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann. Shame on Amedinajad for calling for the destruction of Israel. Shame on Amedinajad for spitting on the Americans, on the very land they love and defend. Why do the "defining issues" always seem to end up on a back burner? Future generations will have to pay dearly for the mistakes being made now. How sad that "peace" is only a concept with empty words.
21. The solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict?
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (09.26.08)
If the solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict were a territorial compromise within Mandatory Palestine, I have no doubt we would have reached this long ago. Instead, from the dawn of Zionism to the present day, the Palestinian leadership has rejected every partition plan proposed, and has reacted violently to all political initiatives seeking a settlement along those lines. This occurred in 1937 in response to the Peel Commission, in 1947 as a reaction to the UN partition plan, and in 2000 when the Palestinians rejected former Prime Minister Barak's proposal at Camp David . 22. Because he's Nicaraguan!
Jared ,   New York, USA   (09.26.08)
He represents an extremist-leftist-socialist regime in Nicaragua led by Ortega. He's no different from Chavez, Castro, or Morales. Why is anyone surprised? They all love Iran.
23. UN's hugging of anti-semitism reflects its immorality
Samuel Prime ,   Canada   (09.26.08)
Has not the UN learned from the rise of the 3rd reich and WWII? Do they want to repeat it without saying so? Iran should have been kicked out of the UN until it learns to not threaten the extinction of another member state and people. Such behavior of the UN is intolerable.
24. Only Shalev is upset
Larry ,   zefat Israel   (09.26.08)
WAKE UP AND SMELL COFFEE...only Israeli Ambassador Gabriella Shalev is upset and fuming ,also Peres is offended.Everybody else in the world could care less. This is Israels' problem, payback for beating up your brother jews and throwing them out of their Homes ,still think they are your Enemy? well G-d will shortly show Israel the true meaning of the word Enemy.Nobody gives a damn about holocaust 1 or 2 .Israelis get that into your thick Hummus-soaked heads.
25. THANK YOU,SEPTIMUS.................#19
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.26.08)
The hugging bothered quite a many. The fact that it didn't to you was a sigh of relief,Septimus. So, all of a sudden a Nicaraguan envoy becomes a poor and undeveloped country, yah?I now understand how you value human beings and nations. So far as the destruction is concerned, don't waste your time,Septimus, please.Utilise your valueable time in being logical,instead............and by the way,it is not MY fake regime.I have nothing to do with Iran. All I am trying is to rescue your whimsical thinking and guide you into logical course.
26. OF COURSE,SEPTIMUS.............#19
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.26.08)
Nicaragua is an underdeveloped and a poor country.I see,so that is how you rate the status of countries and their representatives?A very crude way,no doubt. It just happens to be a poor country and therefore not worthy of any consideration?Wow, I can read your mind very well,Septimus.Anyway, that is the way you were probable brought up in life. So far as your dreams of seeing the Iranian Nuclear sites, unfortunately will take a long time. You may continue to dream and keep wishing.
