Why don't you care to report that arabs are throwing stones and molotovs on last night? Or is that no news for you? Reach Azzun and get informed!
2. The Settlement Industry
Richard ,   London UK   (10.02.08)
Since the 1967 occupation of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights, Israel has constructed civilian colonies, or settlements, in them and encouraged Israeli citizens and industries to move into them. Presently there are 135 Israeli settlements in the Occupied Territories and dozens of additional “outposts” – settlements not yet officially recognized by the Israeli Government. These house over 562,000 Jewish Israeli residents: 282,000 in the West Bank (without Jerusalem), 260,000 in neighborhoods built in Arab Jerusalem or annexed to Jerusalem, and 20,000 in the Golan Heights. The Israeli civilian construction includes housing projects as well as extensive infrastructure such as roads and water systems for the exclusive use of Israeli settlers, on lands confiscated from Palestinians or declared “state lands” in various ways. This has resulted in the effective partial or full annexation of the Occupied Territories into the Israeli state. An occupying power moving its citizens into the occupied area is in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention, and making permanent changes in the occupied land for these settlers is in violation of the Hague Regulations.
3. The Land of Israel is ours by Historical and Moral right.
Robert Bernier ,   Tel Aviv   (10.02.08)
The Land of Israel rightfully belongs only to the Jewish people. The notion of two states for two peoples in the land of Israel cannot be accepted as the land of Israel rightfully belongs only to the Jewish people and to divide our country would be an historic injustice. As it is well known, the conflict between Israel and the Arabs is not a territorial one. If it were a territorial conflict, it could have been solved a long time ago, by territorial concessions, which have been offered a number of times to the Arabs, and rejected every time… As to the legitimate rights of the Jewish people (3 parts): http://xrl.us/osjoz
4. A tent is an outpost
(10.02.08)
A tent is not an outpost. The Palestinians should sell their land and move to America. What is the point on staying on land that God gave to Israel. And besides, the olive grove probably belonged to Jews before the Palestinians stole the land. So nobody should burn the olive groves. Olive oil and olives taste good and the Bible says something like when you are at war you shouldn`t use trees that produce fruit to build stuff for the war--in other words, don`t destroy fruit bearing trees as a means of conflict. How could any Jew burn an olive grove? It is beyond belief. They should rather believe- God will give me back the land someday and the olive trees will be mine.
5. "Occupation"
Ze'ev ,   Haifa   (10.02.08)
West Bank was a Jordanian territory prior to 1967, let the Jordanians complain. Or maybe "Palestinians" should complain about 20 years of Jordanian occupation?
6. Apartheid
Richard ,   London UK   (10.02.08)
Vast areas of the West Bank are closed off to Palestinian movement altogether or require extremely rare permits: the Israeli-only roads, the Israeli settlements’ jurisdiction areas, the “seamline expanse” between the Apartheid Wall and the Green Line, the Jordan Valley, areas annexed to Jerusalem and Jerusalem itself. The arbitrary movement restrictions severely limit Palestinians’ access to health care, education and employment, and destroy the economic and geographic viability of Palestinian independence. In the Gaza Strip, a million and half people live in extremely crowded conditions, completely surrounded by fences and walls and constantly controlled by Israeli military forces from air, land and sea. All movement of people, goods and services in or out is almost completely stopped; on-going military attacks cause mounting destruction and casualties; the trade, utilities and finance embargo on the Hamas regime has added to the resulting economic and humanitarian collapse.

lady from USA   (10.02.08)
According to the Law of the God who owns the land, the land belongs to Israel. Any law made by any Convention or Hague cannot supercede the Law of God. In the end, we will see whose law shall stand.

Before 9-11, we could fly on airplanes in America without going through checkpoints. We could go to football games without going through checkpoints. We could park right outside the airline terminal but now we have to park in a parking lot away from the terminal- because of what the terrorists did. The restriction on Palestinian travel is because of what terrorists did. Terrorists cause a lot of problems for society. And people in Israel live in crowded conditions in apartment buildings that look like rectangle boxes.
9. Daniella Weiss
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (10.02.08)
Settler leader "Daniella Weiss" is a frail 63-year old lady. Does it make sense that she is going to assault the YSM troops, who are not only armored but are highly trained in hand to hand combat and are specially selected for being large and aggressive?
10. Robert in cuckoo land !
Sean ,   Derry/Ireland   (10.02.08)
Get a grip man ! Of course its territorial. 750,000-800.000 Palestinians driven from their homes in '48. They want it back, international law says they are entitled to return, and they will. So get used to the idea. Israel is finished and the sooner fools like you wake up and stare at reality instead of relying on myths and wishful thinking the better.

....and have them re-plant the grove they destroyed. These fools are no better than Islamic fundamentalists and require Israel to dedicate much needed resources that could be better utilized elsewhere.
15. Jews like this...
Emma ,   Israel   (10.02.08)
It's Jews like this that give Israel a bad name. I believe that Israel is the land for Jews, however, we need to make sure that we are striving for peace with our neighbors, or how will we ever survive in the middle east? Why do we need to set Palestinan olive groves on fire? Two wrongs just do not make a right.

Emma ,   Israel   (10.02.08)
I have to say, that just because 9-11 happened (my father happened to be in the city at work during this extremely upsetting time) doesn't mean that all Arabs are the enemy. Do we really need to waste our time hating a people? Would God really approve of this? I'm not extremely religious, however, I am a practicing Jew and I do not believe that your arguments hold any substance or fact. The fact of the matter is that we live in a secular world, Israel may be a Jewish state, however, this does not mean that we are a divine soverign. We still need to act according to the world, and I'm sorry, but the world does not look at God's law and use it as fact. This is the only way that Israel will be taken seriously.
17. WITH A GRAIN OF SALT ... OR 2 OR 10
M   (10.02.08)
Whenever I read Ynet's Palestinian sob stories of the day where of course the Palis say (and they never lie), and the settlers are never asked for their comments, I feel this stories should be taken with a grain of salt. Nobody tells the truth here, palis have the interest to be perpetual victims, Ynet has the interest to demonize the "settlers". Anyone who wants the truth look somwhere else for a second opinion.
18. THE JEWISH ARE THE NATIVES & THE ARABS THE COLONS
laurence ,   israel   (10.02.08)
I think ,dear Richard #2 &6, that u should go back to your history books to learn that jewish people have centuries of monarchies on the land of Israel & the arabs invaded us like they did for many other contries. THE ARABS ARE THE SETTLERS....Ynet why don't u never report about arabs' misdemeanour against jews in Judea samaria? You are echoing the arab propaganda instead of defending your own people . This is a shame. Arabs are our enemies and we know very well they are compulsive liers. Your accusations against so called "settlers" are only based on the arabs' declaration. This is not fair journalism.
19. Law
A Jerusalemite ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (10.02.08)
When people begin to take the law into their own hands it is the beginning of the end... W/o going into the argument of settlements right or wrong, the setting of fires and attacking the IDF is WRONG, period.
20. #19 - A Jerusalemite, And what of the IDF...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (10.02.08)
And what of the IDF ethnically cleansing Judea of Jews? Is this also not wrong? The current Israeli government has no problems acknowledging Arabs attacking the IDF as "resistence"- why doesn't this same logic apply to settlers as well? If "resistence" against "occupation" is a "legitimate right" and a "moral duty", why aren't Jews allowed to resist Judea's occupation by Arabs? Go ahead, write me off as an "extremist"- do anything but challenge the factual and logical basis of my assertions. Keep your head buried in the sand for all I care- but when rockets from E Jerusalem start raining down on W Jerusalem from our "partners in peace", don't say you weren't warned...
21. #19
Israel Israeli ,   tel aviv   (10.03.08)
Professor Sternhell supports attacking the IDF in Judea and Samaria. Do you condemn him? Every Friday, "anarchists" from Tel Aviv drive to Na'alin to assault the IDF, last week breaking a soldiers legs with rocks. Did you condemn them?
22. Daniella Weiss 2
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (10.03.08)
Originally the police arrest Daniella Weiss for assaulting police. When they realized how stupid that sounded, they changed their story. What they meant to say is that they arrested her for hiding alleged arsonists. What will the story be tomorrow?
