1. Radical Muslims may nuke NYC and Wash, DC on Oct. 7...
according to Kade Hawkins newsletter that reported radical Islamic websites are talking about an Octobber nuke attack on NYC and Washington, D.C. Hope it does not happen, but get your relatives out of there until after the 8th if you can. My uncle who is 95 and lives in Arlington, Virginia, near the Pentagon, will not budge. He thinks God will protect him and his wife. The Bible says, "My people perish for lack of knowlege." Even if they do not listen, warn people to get out of there until the 8th.
The whole Muslim world knew the World Trade Center towers would be attacked in September of 2001 since a picture of the Twin Towers exploding was on the calendars for September.

2. Yawn
Viewers Changing stations at the bottom of the time slot indicates that segment was not well made to keep viewer interest. It has little to do with your money and personal time expanded on it. It is a reflection of your abilities. Stop whining and make it more interesting

3. One Good Person
I never turned "One Good Person" off because, unlike most Israelis, I do not believe that I am a "frier" when I volunteer to help others. We may not produce suicide bombers, but our cynicism is suicidal.

5. Ratings
This is the serious problem about commercial TV. In the old days there were positive stories. There are people out there that do want to hear good things happening and it is their right to hear it. Only yellow press journalism turns us into a third world country. Twice non-commercial *Kol Hamusica* has been threatened because of budgetary considerations. Are we not entitled to some culture, even if we are a small minority?

7. Israel's media people...
One would think that Israel's media people and academics would see the danger of allowing Israel to be painted as a genocidal occupier and would speak out and tell the world how tolerant and compassionate Israel has been towards her enemies — a veritable suffering Job among nations. Instead it is the same people in the media and universities who amplify the pro-Arab lies and distortions. They "admit" sins they never committed, and furnish intellectual rationalizations for the most convoluted arguments raised by their adversaries, rather than take up their country's defense even when its conduct is beyond reproach as explained at : http://xrl.us/bi5da

9. Here's a tissue for your issue Yair - stop snivelling
We need to hear a nice story at the end of every news broadcast, whether it be the morning, afternoon or evening news. We need to hear a NICE story, not necessarily about someone, but a nice feel-good story about anything. All we have is doom and gloom - and I don't believe that we like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

10. People, news is a TV program....
That gets ratings like evr other show. What sells? Sex and Violence? So there you go.
Not to mention the fact that when you see 'violent' and 'scarey' news happening right around the corner, what do you do? You stay home and watch more news....simple as that. That is why they bombard us with these types of stories.
There are 2 ways to control a population? 1)by force or 2)by manipulation.
What do you call this? I don't seem to have a gun pointed at my head being forced to live this way. It all a way to control a population. If think of another way, let me know.

12. good fellows
I guess your right. If I want to see good news I turn on sports or game show etc. I can go on youtube and pick my desire. When I watch news I want news that may be important to me. Nice people get their reward by doing and don't expect a pat on the back. Maybe that sounds cruel but it is that way. Oh, they tried it here in the US. it died.

14. Bad News
Here we have an expression that I suspect is also true of the Israeli media..."If it bleeds, it leads." Unfortunately, that seems to be the way to sell newspapers and attract television viewers.

15. ratings
Yair, you want your ratings to really go up through the roof every news broadcast on Friday? Add the talkbacks of Rivkah as on Ynet - her doomsday prophecies will sell well :-) never mind that they are all usually false, they will sell well. They are so gruesome, they just have to sell. No hard feelings Rivkaleh, you are a piece of work.....we all know that.

18. Ratings and 1 good person and JAyjay3
I actually really liked the 1 good person at the end of Friday evening news. Sorry to see it is gone due to low ratings. We are a dumb people at times.
It was also a great way of providing exposure to individuals who can't afford TV Advertisement. Maybe that was the real reason for the low ratings? Too many Israelis just can't see anyone getting anything for free!
JAyjay3, if we make too much fun of Rivkah she won't be able to blast Yair's ratings through the roof anymore :-)!!

20. #11: Bark vs. Bite
Israelis and Jews have long been known as intense complainers. Why doesn't it matter? Because -- when all is said and done -- pound-for-pound of human flesh, we build up more in the world than any other group.

22. perhaps the problem isn't the viewers.
For once, I can empathize with Yair, though I certainly don't agree with him. You claim failure due to viewers not wanting to see "good things". There are other possibilities. Maybe viewers don't want to be used by you, forced to watch a segment you produce in order to feel like a "good person". Maybe you know what "good" looks like but since you have zero understanding of "good" or what makes people do good, you could not possibly present it succesfully. It sounds like your desire to do the segment and your dissapointment in its failur were pretty self-centered. Please note the difference between "yefut nefesh" and "morality".
