Death doesn't sell    Danny Sadeh
1. Dead Sea, Death Valley etc.
Such names, if anything, encourage the adventurous to visit such places. You should keep the name, as it's already well known as such and hasn't stopped many visitors from going there all of this time...

2. The Mineral Sea
Ran   (10.16.08)
3. Intriguing name
I can't believe that the name Dead Sea puts anyone off. On the contrary, it's a name of mystery, something like murder thrillers. There have to be other ways of making The Dead Sea a *best seller*. Besides, who would recognize it by any other name. *Dead Sea* is almost a household word, like *Coke*.
Raoul ,   Israel   (10.16.08)
4. LMAO!!
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (10.16.08)
5. The Dead Sea
In the States, the companies like Ahava that market products from the Dead Sea seem to be more popular than ever. In fact, at one time, you pretty much couldn't get them outside of Israel, and now they're being sold on one of the major home shopping networks. That hardly sounds as if being called "The Dead Sea" is bad for business.

6. this is ridiculous
change the name of an iconic sea that is not only a landmark of the middle east, but is associated with the earliest written form of the torah for selling cosmetics?!!!!!! this is a sick joke. what do they want to call it, the rejuvenating skin-cream sea? i really wouldnt be surprised. anything to sell more products.
eric ,   jerusalem   (10.16.08)
7. Dead sea
I spend $$$ per year on Ahava/Dead Sea products for my family. The name have nothing to do with business.
mark ,   ca   (10.16.08)
8. The Israeli Sea or...
The impossible to drown in sea unless you're a moron. The natural chemical sea The slimy sea The disinfectant sea Or just write the name in Hebrew with English letters, "Yam Hamelach" and don't change anything.
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem Israel   (10.16.08)
9. Come on. It's much better than, say, the Herpes Sea.
Really, it could be much worse than it presently is.
Jared ,   New York, USA   (10.16.08)
10. Don't even mention 'moon'
Ilan ,   Ariel   (10.16.08)
11. business is going politicly correct
World over its known as the Dead Sea and people dont relate it to death. When somebody mentions the Dead Sea they think about mud, cosmetics, floating on the water. If they are worried about using the title Dead Sea for the purpose of business then start calling it something else and its going to be a dead business. When the British priatised the postal service it was caled originaly Royal Mail but they changed it to some flashy business name which nobody ever heard of and the people demanded it was changed back to Royal Mail which is was. People liked the old brand & old logo and dint want a change of name simply because it was becoming private company. The Dead Sea is also a world heritage site and we shouldnt be trying to change its name because a bunch of companies mistakenly think that calling it somethng ike Sea of Salt is going to be better for business. sadly I wouldnt put it past the Olmert/Livni/Barak/$ha$ regime to change the name especialy if the company offers a brown envelope in return
zionist forever   (10.17.08)
12. actually, it's alive
microscopic organisms live in it, but anything bigger cannot handle the amount of salt in it
Stef ,   Belgium   (10.17.08)
13. Salton Sea (but why bother?)
In English language bibles, it's the Salton Sea, and the same is true for a salty inland lake in the US. But I don't see why it matters so much, the name Dead Sea really isn't so awful. Don't we have more important things to do?
Susan   (10.17.08)
14. How about this for a name:
The Ancient Rejuvinating Anti-aging No-Free Radicals Skin Cream and Bath Salts Sea
Michael Berg ,   Toronto   (10.17.08)
15. Monty!!! You should be fired!!
Your are a fool!! You have no sense of Marketing or Business Strategy. You have not done your research. The company is not losing business because of Dead Sea...but because you are stupid!
Donna ,   Tn. USA   (10.30.08)
