31. So much blah blah
Ze'ev ,   Haifa   (10.21.08)
Was anybody killed or injured as a result of the attack? No! Are the attackers Israeli citizens? Yes! Did anyone (gov't) called for the destruction of Arab homes in Akko? No! So please stop the ranting of "Jewish terrorists, blah blah". They were caught and will be judged according to the law of the State of Israel. Oh and the last one, Herode was Edumite so his connection to modern day Arabs is a doubtful one.
32. justice should be blind
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (10.21.08)
these guys should be treated according to the law whether they are arab, jewish, martian, or whatever. that is, if israel ever wants the hope of having a civil society.
33. #9 Palestinian Why don't you move rom Israeli land?
Petra ,   usa   (10.21.08)
You're not welcomed as your pople never end violence and the Jews have had enough of your terror. MOVE BACK TO JORDON< SYRIA< SAUDI ARABIA> NY PLACE BUT THE JEWS ANCIENT HOMELAND.
34. clarification of "hypocrisy"
izzy d   (10.21.08)
no soldier is allowed to shoot unless three conditions are present: 1. the attacker has the capability to kill or wound the soldier (a gun or a Molotov cocktail) 2.the attacker shows clear intention of using the gun or Molotov cocktail 3. if he does use the weapon or Molotov cocktail it will definitely kill or wound the soldier. unless all three conditions exist a soldier IS NOT ALLOWED to fire. these rules of engagement are more stringent then ANY OTHER ARMY IN THE WORLD currently engaged in a conflict. of course seeing as how there were no soldiers actually present, the stupid comparisons and claims of hypocrisy are MOOT!!! as to the destruction of the terrorists home: this serves as a deterrence against a community that actually encourages its young to commit suicide attacks. it is NOT a "retaliation" for the terrorist act itself but a deterrence measure that involves the whole family of a plotting suicide attacker. i think that if ynet would implement a certification policy for talkbacks whereas only experts on the matter could share their thoughts, then the number of talks backs would drop dramatically while the quality of talk backs would increase. quite honestly 70 percent of talk backs that i read can be refuted by opening up a history book. but noooo, people want to say whats on their minds not the actual truth. p.s flamers ahoy!!!
35. And the "Infidel of the day" prize go to:
Palestinian   (10.21.08)
jason white (#15) in occupied afula!
36. #34 - public discourse limited to certified experts...
Erastus CoupeDeVille ,   Ong's Hat, NJ   (10.21.08)
we have many in the USA... some are known as paid "talking heads" on teevee/radio/print media, paid lobbyists in Washington DC giving expert advice/cash, etc. All are apparatchiks just braying a party line. And as we all know, history books are written by the victors not the vanquished.
37. Observer: History Revisionist of the Day
Bill ,   US   (10.21.08)
"In 1909 or 1910, Yehoshua Hankin completed his first major purchase in the Jezreel Valley. He bought some 10,000 dunams (10 kmĀ²) of land in Al-Fuleh (now Afula), which became the home of Merchavia and Tel Adashim." Once again, Arabs profited from the sale of land and now want to steal it back.
38. refutation?
izzy d ,   israel, jerusalem   (10.21.08)
are you suggesting that i am wrong? that anybody is allowed to say whatever they want to? oh that's right; "freedom of speech". an amendment that was to be a counter weight to administrative tyranny has become an enabler of stupid-speech. I particularly enjoy reading comments that follow the trend of: a. We are all human beings who must learn to love and respect one another...what you disagree? how DARE YOU!!!??? you should be hit by a half ton truck and split in two b. arabs resisting the "occupation" of their "homeland" have the "right" to "resist" and should not be considered militants or terrorists but "freedom fighters" (because they are fighting freedom?) and if they are killing innocent children and civilians then ..well...what do you expect? they have been "systematically abused" and "occupied" and relegated to an inconsequential minority by the jews... so what do you expect?...yet on the other hand israeli jews who were born after the "disaster" that is the establishment of the Jewish stateand, have grown up their whole life under the constant threat of terrorism (freedom fighting), well if they respond with violence then that is "unacceptable" and "undemocratic" AND illegal. so, the poor poor Palestinians are justified if they go on a murderous rampage, after all they are only "victims" of the "socio-economic factors" of the "environment" that they grew up in, well its almost expected of them. however if a jew would react in the same manner then that is a violation of Palestinians "fundamental human rights" and a clear indication of the state of "democracy" in Israel. What really bothers me is that these same people who are disgusted and bothered by the israeli governments treatment of arabs as morally/ ethically/ legally wrong, sick and as anti-humanitarian as you can get, all seem to be bothered that these same measures aren't applied to its jewish residents. shouldn't you be happy that these 6 youngsters are going to jail instead of being shot? that their familys can keep their homes?
39. #37 in 1948, Jews had only 6% of the land
observer   (10.25.08)
40. Israelis throwing molotov cocktails
brynababy ,   Los Angeles, CA   (10.27.08)
I love Israel, I am a Jew, and therefore, I decry such barbaric behavior by other Jews. The Israeli goveernment should throw the book at them and others like them. They cannot be tolerated in a free and Democratic country- especially one run by Jews.
