1. Hamas in YESH
JonnyGee ,   USA   (10.23.08)
It's only a good idea if Israel is willing to once and for all fight them, resulting in either their death or expulsion.
2. another delusional psyco-babbling idiot
(10.23.08)
3. I agree for the most part, but Hamas charter says kill Jews
David ,   Boston, USA   (10.23.08)
I have a big problem with that. If it means getting Egypt and Jordan Palestine in charge sooner, I would be all for it though.
4. Hamas or Fatah in West Bank
steve ,   london, england   (10.23.08)
The West Bank is East Palestine. Anyone who suggests it could be good for Israel if Hamas takes control of East Palestine is a bloody fool. First of all Israelis should think of how painful it would be for East Palestinians to have their lives and communities dominated by Hamas. Second, it would present Jordan with extremism on their frontier which they don't need and don't deserve. What has to happen is that Hamas must undergo an ideological change. It MUST embrace the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and must state clearly that they consider it a test of their leadership to seek a State of Palestine which fully accepts, ratifies and implements the International Bill of Human Rights. There can be no higher ideological priority for any Arab nation to address. If you want to participate in democratic government in the world you have to participate by the rules. Hamas will not be disassembled. It is now and will continue to be a powerful force to be reckoned with. But they will only be a threat to lasting peace unless they commit to ideological reforms such as I suggest. Amen ve Amen
5. Judea and Samaria is part of Israel
(10.23.08)
6. Takeover of Tel Aviv will be Hamas Next Movement
Hamuda ,   Gaza   (10.23.08)
Do you think if Hamas controlled West Bank, they will stop there, excuse me, you are so fool.
7. I am glad I read it here
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach, USA   (10.23.08)
David Ben-Gurion & Co. started Israel with ethnic cleansing, according to Ilan Pappe. if I had any doubt of it, this article tells me that ethnic cleansing is still alive and well. You will do anything to eradicate Palestinians from the map, including calling them terrorists.what do you think the IDF is? Had you counted the number of noncombatant civilians down to babies that they have killed?
8. Mr Bechor
Kiwiboy ,   New Zealand   (10.23.08)
As the above photo suggests, this article was written after a glass of red :) The Palestinians are a "problem" created by all arab nations. Full stop. This group of murderers could have been absorbed easily by other states surrounding Israel. They know well that this land was never theirs. There has never been a palestinian state or nation on this land of Israel. It has been renamed by the Roman empire. Once Jews reconquered what is theirs in the first place, so called palestinians should go back to the desert of arabia, from which they originated from. Israel should have made this fact a rethoric, a slogan, in any information campain. Same as we hear so often by arabs "a Palestinian state and Jerusalem as its capital" Shabbat Shalom
9. I agree 100%. SOMEONE FINALLS GETS IT!
Mark ,   USA   (10.23.08)
This article is spot-on. I am glad someone else out there understands this. Keep up the good work!
10. Jerrold Cohen # 7
Yerach ,   Jerusalem,Israel   (10.23.08)
Is that your real name or is your real name Mustafa Or Basaam?
11. What is Mr. Bechor advocating?
Steve ,   Fla.   (10.23.08)
With respect to Hamas terrorists and Fatah terrorists, I agree Hamas terrorists are more honest about their annihilationist intentions than are Fatah terrorists. Is Mr. Bechor advocating giving Gaza to Egypt? Is he advocating giving the "West Bank" (Judea and Samaria) to Jordan? No. Israel belongs to the Jews in perpetuity. Giving these precious territories to Israel's enemies is a horrifying scenario. It is out of the question. Is Guy Bechor suggesting otherwise?
12. Guy Bechor & Olmert
Andu ,   New York   (10.23.08)
Lets be clear here; Guy Bechor is an Olmert apologist. He's been for all of Olmert's disastrous policies. His credibility is less than zero.
13. Bechor painful truth + wishful thinking?
JPS ,   Efrat   (10.23.08)
For those of you troglodytes out there who are dissing Bechor, you should know that he reads Arabic and Farsi papers for breakfast and is a former top journalist. He knows his stuff inside out and backwards. So, to hear him call for Hamas to take over from Fatah perks my ears up. I think Bechor fails to be blunt enough about Fatah's dismal leadership failures. For 20 years they've been more interested in lining their pockets with donor money than leading their people to independence. And yes, Bechor is right on when he says negotiations with Fatah are a sham. However, I have serious doubts that once Hamas takes over from Fatah in Judea and Samaria that Jordan would want to take a more active role. Kind of like asking somebody to stick their bare arm into an aquarium with piranhas so that they can scoop the fake gold coins out of the treasure chest. I don't see anything in it for Jordan other than a tremendous headache since Hamas is no friend of the King...
14. Jerrold, only an idiot relies on Ilan Pappe
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (10.24.08)
Even the lefties at the U of Haifa tired of his so-called scholarship. Pappe himself stated "narrative" was more important than facts. One of his students fabricated research on a "massacre" that was completely fabricated and he was called on it. I think Pappe is now spreading his lies somewhere in the UK. I have a lot of respect for Bechor, but allowing Hamas to take control in the West Bank is a high price to pay just to prove there is no "deal" to be had with today's Palestinians.
15. the new old
sarah ,   jerusalem   (10.24.08)
again want to force a solution for israil not the palastinians .........it will failed
16. Idiot! -- Israel must resolve, not ignore the issue.
Democrat   (10.24.08)
17. Guy is brilliant!
Ron Morris   (10.24.08)
If Hamas take over the occupied territories, then we will finally have peace. And the right wing extremist fanatics will finally stop complaining about Gush Katif. And if Hamas is a little rough on the settlers, it saves the Yassam some effort. And after all the trouble the settlers have caused this country, they have it coming. I can't wait until they give back the Charedi neighborhoods to Hamas.
18. Theoretically right but ethically wrong
shmendrik ,   Israel   (10.24.08)
But then again, the Arabs in West Bank, that like to call themselves Palestinians, cant have their cake and eat it too!
19. This is what Ariel Sharon understood
daniel   (10.24.08)
The biggest threat to Israel is a naive leftwing goverment willing to trade land for false promises of peace. Land for peace will only work if our partner is interested in peace, not if they want to use the land in order to launch attacks against our population centres. This has been the danger since 1993. Despite all evidence our goverment insisted in making peace with those who wish destroy Israel. The only outcome of such negotiations is surrender.
20. Spot on Guy Bechor!
Barry ,   Tokyo   (10.24.08)
Can anyone not think straight like him anymore? The Palis lost the war -end of story. they can go back to Arabia now.
21. Yerach #10
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach, USA   (10.24.08)
Yerach, if you don't want to call me Jerrold, call me Gedaliah. That was my name at my bris.
22. Who are the terrorists?
Jerrold Cohen ,   Seal Beach, USA   (10.24.08)
In the two replies to my post #7, no one has paid attention to my greatest concern. I believe in dictionaries. They define terrorism as harm or threat of harm to noncombatant civilians for political purposes. The harm dealt out by the IDF and IAF to noncombatant Palestinian Arabs, killing, wounding, blowing up homes, starving large numbers at a time, invasion of hospitals, and more, amounts to 10 to 100 times the amount of terrorism dealt out by Hamas. When do I see an Israeli online newspaper call the IDF a terrorist organization? When do Israelis realize that is what their army does for them: terrorism?
23. Jews are going mad in Israel and U.S.
Sue ,   Los Angeles   (10.25.08)
Like chickens voluntarily sticking their necks out to be slaughtered, Israelis are ok with Hamas moving in to the W Bank. And American Jews are voting for a man named Barack Hussein Obama whose friends have clearly indicated will be more pro-Palestinian than Carter.
24. Don't we all 'love' a self hating jew.
Kiwigirl ,   NZ   (10.25.08)
You're right Jerrald, all those Israelis murdered by the PALs are the 'real terrorists'. I suggest you go join the 'lamb's in Gaza and see how much they will love a 'cohen'
25. to 19 daniel
sarina ,   ......   (10.25.08)
you think from yor heart .sometimes wrong oters right and the same as guy think from his mind be wrong or right . but hamass think from both to be wrong and right in the same time .one eye here and the other in the opposit
26. jordan and egypt controlling WB and GS
Liron ,   Israel   (10.25.08)
ha ha ha.. Bechor is delusional. must be drinking too much wine (see insert pic). Clearly , Jordan and Egypt will want to regain control of a HAMAS led "Palestine".
27. Jerrold the stupid
David ,   USA   (10.25.08)
And if an enemy was firing rockets into your community of Seal Beach and the US Army or Air Force engaged them to protect your stupid ass, who would be the terrorists then? Would it be the US Armed Forces or the one shooting at you? Your ignorance is mind numbing.
28. You are missing the point
Reply to David #27 ,   Seal Beach, USA   (10.25.08)
The Palestinian rocket launchers are nothing more than tubes, and 95% of those rockets do no harm. If you measure the damage done, the Israelis did as much damage to the Gaza Strip in a day as Palestinian rockets did in a year. I am talking killing of noncombatant civilians. Sorry, David, but I call that terrorism on the part of the Israeli Air Force. Israel has to find a way to stop militants without killing noncombatant civilians.
29. Jerrold
Yerach ,   Jerusalem,Israel   (10.25.08)
I find it it hard to believe that you are really Jew being that you sympathize with the Jew-haters rather than with Jews. The opinions that you express sound like they come right of Der Sturmer!!!!
30. Jordan is Palestine: Bring it over!
Abbas ,   Jordan   (10.25.08)
As a Palestinian living in Jordan, I have no problem in that. Let Jordan be another Palestine. Gradually we will control, bearing in mind the demographic issue!
