The Arab people come from where? The Arabian Peninsula, and didn't much venture out until Mohammed got them all riled up! Canaanites aren't yours. You have your own heritage, you don't need to try to steal ours.

Islam spread out from the Arabian Peninsula... Canaanites are Arabian tribes who moved to the Levant long time ago.
Finally, Arab means Arabic speaking. Palestinians are not necessarily from Mecca and Medina but are from the lineage of those aho inhabited Palestine irrespective of their previous religions and languages. This is the natural thing as every other place in the word, particularly the ancient world.
