Good morning America    Uri Misgav
1. Written by a true delusional communist, liberal.
Stewart ,   U.S.A.   (11.04.08)
2. Uri Misgav loves the enemies of the true Israel
(11.04.08)
3. MISGAV IT IS TIME TO TAKE YOUR MEDECINE AND GO TO SLEEP
(11.04.08)
4. MAYBE ISRAEL IS RIGHT THERE WITH CONGO AND ALGERIA
But Uri Misgav is right there with HAMAS AND HIZBULLA!
M   (11.04.08)
5. the first 3 TB's
#1 - you're clearly not well read. communism and liberalism are mutally exclusive ideologies. communism focuses on subsuming the individual in the collective and liberalism focuses on emancipating the individual as much as possible (it also stands for free trade). get your terms straight! #2 So the next President of the USA is an enemy of Israel already? Wait, no, sorry, the "true" Israel, right? Let me guess. You live in Kiryat Arba right? Sorry pal, Tel-Aviv and its surroundings where people drive on Shabbat and dance with women is the true Israel. Who knows, maybe you'll become the first Jewish Palestinians when we finally pull out of there. #3 well.... that's actually quite a funny comment But as Misgav said you'd have to be utterly paranoid or racist not to realize the moment of history we are witnessing and to watch a country with a history of slavery, genocide, and institutional racism have the choice of a black man as President. Even if Obama doesn't win this is amazing progress for America, the West, and the World. I only hope that the fervour of American hope, meritocracy, reason, and idealism spreads to our dark country and inspire some courageous leadership in the face of this national depression (and even pyschosis in the cases of "some" people living on the wrong side of the Green Line)
Smith ,   Tel-Aviv, Israel   (11.04.08)
6. #1 "communist, liberal" Duh.
You need to get your hands on an encylopedia buddy. Meanwhile, I suggest keeping quiet, because you just show yourself to be ignorant and dumb.
David ,   Los Angeles   (11.04.08)
7. Liberal Freedom
Liberals are not for emancipation, just conformity. Liberal tolerance stops when you disagree with them. Time will tell what "change" Obama will bring. I think the world and Israel will be unhappy with that change.
rs ,   ac, usa   (11.04.08)
8. yes he can but what ????
yes he can but what ? hope, change... beautiful words but what is his politics ? Face to reality (islamism, extremism, social rifts, economic crisis, the rise of low cost salaries countries...) i doubt he will find easy solutions, appeasement, ostrich politics (i close my eyes to not see what is disturbing for my views) is not a solution Mr Misgav. You are a dreamer and a man who take his dreams for granted. Look at Obama, look at his friends, look at his pastors, look at his ascension, don t give to much weight to his words, facts are stronger than words... bad day for America, for Israel, for democracy, for all of us.
cordier   (11.04.08)
9. Are you kidding me????
Are any former slaves alive today? Are any former slave owners alive today? Why do I, a white male have to constantly hear about this issue when none of the affected people are alive today. I didn't own a slave, I have never kept a sigle black person from doing anything, why is it that I have to be pressured to feel guilty and vote for Obama? Nearly every race, religion and culture has been enslaved in some form or another at some point in the history of the world... I don't see any editorials or calls to right those wrongs.... and rightly so. That's why they call it history. People need to stand up and reject arguements such as these, and the comments that will surely follow, that if you reject this theory you are somehow racist... Whatever.... I am voting for McCain as a protest to these arguements... Get over it!
jim ,   baltimore, md   (11.04.08)
10. Boruch Hashem!! Bobbe in Florida voted Obama
She was undecided until yesterday, but calls from most of her family (all 3 daughters/ 2/3 grandchildren) persuaded her.
David ,   Los Angeles   (11.04.08)
11. Slavery
In this, before there was the civil rights movement, there were Evangelicals who put up a huge fight and who helped make slavery illegal in the British empire without firing a shot. The best known were William Wilberforce and John Newton (the transformed sinner who wrote Amazing Grace). This was part of a domino effect and the start of the end of slavery in America.
Marilyn ,   USA   (11.04.08)
12. it was black muslims from obamas tribe that sold slaves
to the colonial powers. the blacks in america as well as the whites have no idea who they are voting for right now. ignorence is bliss? wait till obama creates his version of "war veterans" and gives them permission to take over the white farmers lands-----just like zimbabwe---america will not be able to feed itself let alone the rest of the world.
yahn goodey   (11.04.08)
13. ummm #5
you are clearly missing the point as you failed to mention anything regarding the actual article that is written above. instead you have decided to take a weak approach and bash other concerned israeli's feelings regarding the new socialist (spead the wealth+manipulate the media) government that we would potentially see in obama as president. obviously it would be nice to curb rascism in north america with obama as the leader, but at the potential cost of appeasing the threats in the middle east as he plans to prematurely leave iraq and negotiate with the holocaust deniar ahmedinejad. bottem line, is that obama will not want to intervene in international affairs which will not be in israels best interest as they will now have to confront the threats on their own.
al ,   canada   (11.04.08)
14. slavery
what a ridiculous article. ok, by electing obama americans are paying for the sin of slavery and making one israeli journalist happy. maybe he will be less smug after obama bullies israel on behalf of the palestinians, who in obama's understanding are just like the civil rights movement anyway.

16. obama win in 08 means Republicans
retake the both Houses and White House in 2012. If there is a U.S. still around. Imagine in the middle of a war with islamofascists and the U.S. elects someone with a name like barak hussein. Would the U.S. have elected a man with a middle name like adolph or tojo in 1944? Would they have elected someone who was friends with members of the bund? NO!

17. What a dummie, Yes the whole world ...
Will come like fish on a hook to remove Her from the land God swore to give Her, Then the "evangelical belligerence" won't look like such a bad thing but, for more of what it was, a true passion for Love from those who Knew what God was saying to all of Mankind. How can people be so blind? OH! Prideful belligerence.
DANNY ,   AMERICA   (11.04.08)
18. Obama
I wonder if the writer is going to be speaking so boldly if, should Obama win the election, he commences to run the country straight into the ground. He can't possibly come up with all the money needed for the programs he wants without printing the money himself.
Gary Glaser ,   Hutchinson, MN, USA   (11.04.08)
19. Barack Obama
As a life-long Democrat, Obama should have been my ideal candidate. However, when you look into his background you find he is no less a political hack and an opportunist than most of the other politicians coming out of Chicago, a city famous for its corrupt political machine. It's the reason why Obama joined Jeremiah Wright's church which has a huge congregation and a lot of influence, and why when Obama started moving up the ranks and began to harbor the illusion that he was actually qualified to be president (Gov. Schwarzenegger said that John McCain spent more time in a prison camp than Obama spent in the Senate) he made the decision to distance himself from Wright because he knew that Wright was going to scare the crap out of too many white people with his racist diatribes. Yet, somehow, thanks in large part to a sycophantic media, Obama has become the new Messiah. And, frankly, being an atheist, I find that prospect very unsettling.
NYC Girl   (11.04.08)
20. awful
If you watch Israeli Channel 2 news coverage of the U.S. elections, it's the same thing. Preening themselves as enlightened nonracists, ALL THEY SEE IS RACE. If you relate to Obama as a BLACK MAN and McCain as a WHITE MAN to the point that you cannot see the MAN, do not understand the issues and disagreements, and only see the issue of color--Will America Elect A Black Man???--isn't that a wee bit racist? Uri Misgav is at the lowest rung among those Israelis who only "understand" America in terms of media cliches and actually understand nothing about it. Obama's associates are CRIMINALS, RADICALS AND TERRORISTS (some white, some black, some Arab, whatever), and this is what concerns those of us who COULD NOT CARE LESS about his skin color but are interested in the ISSUES. The same Misgav-types who see EVANGELICAL BELLIGERENACE want to make peace with ARAFAT.
RobertK ,   Jerusalem   (11.04.08)
21. Uri Misgav Drank the coolaid.
And became an Obot.
Ivri   (11.05.08)
22. Mr. Liberal Uri Misgav
Have you left your brain in your home freezer befor you decided to write this idiotic, lousy, and stupid! article? BUSHA LECHA! ATA BOGED GADOL!
Maxweel Smart ,   BEAUTIFUL USA   (11.05.08)
23. Shake off belligerence?
Oh so it was wrong to take out the enemy of Israel who was filling mass graves in Iraq and starving his own people while he built dozens of palaces? While he was allowing Iraq to harbor AlQaeda? Now we may get an Arab appeaser who will certainly try to divide Jerusalem and bring the state of Israel closer to ahnililation? Who will kill the American economy? NObama.
BJL ,   USA   (11.05.08)
24. Obama is not your friend
Not long ago there was a man giving inspiring speeches representing a national democratic socialist party. He was not your friend, this democratic socialist isn't either. Have you learned nothing? To say that Obama is a good choice shows that you have no concept of the seriousness of this election. You say "never again" but give power to your enemies at every turn. Is the U.N. your friend? Hamas? Iran? They would call Obama their friend. You call others delusional for having healthy reservations about him, those reservations are justified.
LuFri   (11.05.08)
25. The article is not logical
The author claims, Obama was good (for whatever) because his was not an evangelical christian. However, being a christian is exactly what Obama claims!!! So according to that, 1. either Obama IS in fact a christian, with the consequence that the authors claim is invalidated (And the question remains how in the world the author has made that claim) 2. Or Obama is NOT a christian, making him a liar. If he is a liar, why is that so? Because he cannot admit his actual views. Why is that? ....because they are not acceptable.
Ronny   (11.05.08)
26. This is what I want to see from Obama
Uri Misgav failed to mention that Obama is heavily favored by all of our enemies in the Arab world. Maybe for a good reason? Well, if I'm so mistaken in this judgment, then Obama would have to do the following things in order to relieve my concerns and gain my trust: 1. Releasing Jonathan Pollard. 2. Finally moving the American embassy in Israel, to Jerusalem. 3. Stopping the nuclearization of Iran at all costs - including a determined, thorough military operation, if Iran continues to stubbornly thwart all diplomatic initiatives. And he shouldn't be too patient with them. 4. Continuing the isolation of terrorist Syria, and certainly not pressing Israel to give up its Golan. 5. Not negotiating with Hamas, Hizbollah, and other terror organizations. 6. Selling F22's to Israel. 7. Lifting the need for a visa for Israeli tourists. Without any of these things, I see absolutely no reason to get excited about him, certainly not when Ahmadinejad, Assad, Haniyeh, and Hugo Chavez are so excited! Uri, you are such a hopeless, delusional leftist.

27. the true sentence
that people change the force to faith ... and i see that people change to faith when they feel weak . and i believe faith make the people stronger than the force .. god say the most dangerouse effect in the life are both fear and poverty .. i think bush can not eleminate the fear and keep the economy so republicans failed .. may the change is good to americans and all the world ... who knows .....
naaom ,   jerusalem   (11.05.08)
28. Obama and McCain
Carter, Daddy Bush and Baby Bush were bad for Israel. But Israel's problems are its own corrupt leaders and for Obama, Israel is a minor issue. What should worry Israelis is what Obama will do for or to America. Will he improve the economy? Will the justice system start protecting criminals at the expense of victims as occured in Britain or will he combat crime? Will Obama stand up to Putin or will he accept a new Russian empire? Will he align himself with the Saudis against the Iranians like the Bushes or will he take a more balanced approach? Obama wants to be a success but he has an absolute lack of executive experience, an absolute lack of any diplomatic experience and no apparent strong moral convictions. His administration's success will be based on his advisors. His past choices of Ayers, Jesse Jackson and Wright does not bode well for America.

29. Debt?
Come on, enough with magical thinking... Enough with cheap labor sociologists and psychologists... No guilty feelings granted Obama with the victory, but the tremondous amount of work he made with is team for winning the Presidency. His tactical team and he used their brains and their sensibilities to touch electors' heart, to meet them, and finaly, bring them to vote... At the end, he his the leader USA wants . At least for now...
walt68 ,   Sherbrooke, Canada   (11.05.08)
30. thrilled to see black pres...but NOT Obama...
this is what i don't get. it IS wonderful for all of us to see a black president. it IS an accomplishment and that is a great thing...BUT... charasmatic, Obama?... NO! It has NOTHING to DO with 'race', particularly not for those of us who were active in the civil rights movement! to be honest? (and i mean this) I don't NOTICE color! and i suspect that many voted for him BECAUSE of his color...and THAT is ...what?
