I have been a democrat as have been my family since the late 1890s however, as of yesterday, we have all changed to the Independent party as have many Jews. This 78% is not a true figure as I personally know that many Jews would not come out and vote for someone who surrounds himself with anti-semites as Obama does. It's not January 20th as of yet. Plus there are many other factors not even being discussed regarding whether or not this man is even legitimately eligible to be President.

First off, it makes more sense for us as Jews to ascribe to a conservative viewpoint in that the Torah commands a life that follows more closely to that vantage rather than liberalism. What the election of Barak Obama as the next president means to me As I contemplate this event, the first thing comes to my mind that he was chosen by a majority of the citizens of the United States and is to honored accordingly. He is the president of our great country, all that is missing at this time is his taking the Oath of Office. His opinion and ideas must be taken seriously and recognized. President Obama cannot be compared to any other person of color as, “Breaking the color barrier” as all others before him owed their position to an individual that overcame the biases of that era. President Obama does not owe any allegiance or be beholden to any individual person or group, he has been chosen by a majority of the entire country. What I fear most about this unprecedented event is the herculean task of protecting his personage. World war one was as a direct result of an assassins bullet, I shudder at the devastation that if God forbid any harm should be visited upon the presidents personage, such act will be seen as an attack against the entire race of people of color, black, brown, or any shade in between. God only knows the evil that lurks in bigoted persons, to act out their warped sense of right or wrong violently does not take any act or even any reason, all it takes is a sick mind. America as does many other countries has in its history the attempted and actual assassination of its presidents or leaders but, the pain of an entire society having to suffer such a loss, would be to great for it to be accepted with any grace, it would engender a sever violent reaction to the point of mass demonstrations the cost of which will be hard to contemplate. So I beseech all security agencies to not only double their vigilance in protecting the personage of President Obama but to take any and all measures, no matter how minute it may seem to guarantee the Presidents safety, as they are not only charged to protect this individual, but are charged with protecting the entire nation of the United States of America directly and the peacefulness of the entire world. This knowledge must be a very heavy burden for the security agencies, but it cannot be ignored or ever compromised, this task has what we call a “Zero Tolerance” for any deviation from any all measures to assure President Obama safety and security in any and all circumstances.
