1. This Is A Good Thing
emanon ,   USA   (11.07.08)
My turn to say "I'm sorry", but it is not Israel I had in mind when I voted for Obama, but the future of the US. Is arel was secondary in my mind. Having said that, look beyond the physical person and look at his ideas. That is what I did when I cast my vote. I was not voting for the melanin content of the candidate's skin, but what they stood for. Wait. Have patience. You will see that Obama will be good for America and, ultimately, better for Israel than the other choice would have been.
2. Is that article targeted for nursary school kids?
Ted ,   UK   (11.07.08)
The only thing I agree with you is that you cannot tell what will be his attitude towards Israel. But really give me a break, what kind of infantile questions you pose? what does the colur of his skin, or his name got to do with his policies? there are white people, and jewish who are bad for Israel as well. You should be ashamed if that the level of opinions you form
3. To Uri
Frank ,   Canada   (11.07.08)
If you don't have anything to say, don't say anything buddy.
4. It is bad that he's black, because we are white??
Jake   (11.07.08)
Hold your horses, Uri. The Nazis were white. Did that help the Jews? Let me let you in on a little secret, Uri, in case you didn't know. White supremacists do not believe Jews to be authentic whites. Natives of the Mediterranean basin are considered to be racially inferior to the Nordics, who are regarded as the only true unadulterated whites. The fact that an African-American won the US elections is, as far as I'm concerned, the only positive thing that came out of this election so far.
5. Obama
Thomas Loftis ,   Cookeville, Tn. U.S.   (11.07.08)
I believe Obama will be bad for both the U.S. and Israel and what most people here don't know are don't believe is that 70 percent of the people that voted for him was single women that's expecting him to hand out some more money to the poor and the jewish people didn't want to be consider racialist. I believe he will cause the U.S. to fall even more than it has and may God have mercy on the U.S. and Israel.
6. terrible journalism
Ron ,   LA   (11.07.08)
one of the worst articles I've ever read on ynet.
7. Uri
David ,   USA   (11.07.08)
Concentrate your energies on Israeli elections. Consider replacement of your defense minister. Get a PM with some backbone. One who puts Israeli interests above his own and above those of the ungodly UN and above those of the US. One who will not look to Egypt for horses and chariots. Who will took to HaShem to defeat her enemies. Wake up already! T'shuvah. Then you will not have to concern yourself with what Obama means.
8. Rahm Emanuel
Tzv   (11.07.08)
Since Obama has now chosen Rahm Emanuel as Chief of Staff, it is clear that Obama will support a pro-Israel agenda.
9. Uri Orbach
J.Hardisty ,   P.R.Ca.US/Israel   (11.07.08)
Who cares what Uri thinks about Pres-Elect Obama? If Israel does not get serious about a peace deal and stop these settler wing nuts. Israel can get out of the USA's welfare line. And the same goes for Abbas. The US Tax payers are getting tired of paying for bills

You do not speak for me and you do not speak for America. You are sticking your nose into something that is not your business. Shut up!
12. Dumb talkbackers don't understand humor
David ,   Los Angeles   (11.07.08)
Hardly surprising that the rabid right wing room-temperature IQ talkbackers don't understand...
13. American Jews supported Obama???
Lou Krupkin ,   Deal, NJ   (11.07.08)
It is mentioned that American Jews overwhelmingly supported Israel. I firmly supported McCain, and almost every other Jewish person that is in my community, or circle also supported McCain. My friends and family that overwhelmingly gave Obama support are generally not religious, very left wing liberal, or not very active in Israeli interests. Everyone that I know including me, that supported McCain are extremely active in support of Israel and most are generally more religious and affiliated. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Obama shows his appreciation to the support that he did get by focusing his efforts on the release and return of Gilad Schalit?
14. need more info about obama?check worldnetdaily.com
yahn goodey   (11.07.08)
there you can find out that the working poor are buying guns at a record pace to defend themselves and the rich are taking their money and businesses out of the country before obama gets hold of the reins of power and starts to help himself to their "piggy banks" obama has already let it be known that he plans to take the money from the rich and poor working man and give it to the poor not working man. since there will be no incentive to work any longer why would a logical person even bother to try?
15. "The most persecuted people on earth"
ben Ish   (11.07.08)
Barak Obama has stated that the Palestinians are "the most persecuted people on Earth." That is all you really need to know about Obama, unfortunately there is far worse to consider.
16. that's the problem with Obama
daniel   (11.07.08)
He's everyting to everyone
17. Call your own shots.
Palin Pumkin ,   Baltimore   (11.07.08)
The whites put Obama in office. Do the math. Obamas timing was right. After Bush screwed so bad there werent many choices to choose from. So difficult to find a good president. Hope Obama has wisdom to make proper choices. Israel will do what it has to do either way. Dont worry.
18. Sorry Lou, the #'s. prove your anecdotes not representative
David ,   Los Angeles   (11.07.08)
EVERYONE I know, including Orthodox to Reform, people working for Jewish communal organizations, family, friends, wealthy and struggling, people undecided until the last minute, ALL voted Obama. (All except just one person). No-one could stomach Palin when it came down to it, and all the lies about Obama were also a massive turnoff. And it's pretty clear what the outcome is, unless you believe a closet Muslim antisemite (as we were told by the liars of the Right) would appoint a Zionist Jew who davens in an Orthodox shul as his Chief of Staff.
19. We have the rainbow!
Logic ,   Israel   (11.07.08)
We are semites. Half of us are dark, from the Arab and North African countries. Others are black, from Ethiopia. And others are white. We have the rainbow!
20. #10: Explain Your Comment
emanon ,   USA   (11.07.08)
Who is cynical?
21. #14 good point
ben Ish   (11.07.08)
It is probably inevitable that in light of the extreme liberal position of the pres-elect, that large amounts of private US economic capital will be looking for greener pastures. Along with the present global economic situation, there will plenty of pastures eager to acquire the expatriated resources. Expect to see US influence significantly marginalized within a year. This will be combined with, as I said before, the largest US military retraction since 1973. Ask yourself this, does weakness lead to peace or to war?

23. BRAVO America
Davis   (11.08.08)
America is no more the land of setlers , slaves and indians aboriganes ...America goes twards a country for all its citisens ..America is no more the model for Israel ....Amerca is no more a place where white protestant anglosacsons are the superior ....Israel must look to the future diferent..
24. If America wanted a black president - why not Allan Keyes?
Tahl ,   Israel   (11.07.08)
This black congressman has amazing credentials, high intelligence, clear, deep-rooted, and proven love for Israel, and absolutely no question marks from his past. I would vote for him in a heartbeat if I could. Too bad America wasn't smart enough to promote him instead of the glib, inexperienced, leftist, socialist, and Arab-favorite Obama. Keyes/Palin for 2012!
25. how could you

"EVERYONE I know, including Orthodox to Reform, people working for Jewish communal organizations, family, friends, wealthy and struggling, people undecided until the last minute, ALL voted Obama" Good for you, Davey, because guess what: EVERYONE I know voted for McCain. By the way, I am very heartened by Obama's nomination of Rahm Emanuel as Chief of Staff. Too bad the Liberal-Lefty populus mobili which you are so in love with are already calling Obama a "pawn of the Zionists" and "beholden to special interests".
28. 1st Grade Journalism
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (11.08.08)
My Kindergartner could write a better piece than this. You naives who think that the appointment of Emanuel as Chief of Staff somehow augers for a pro-Israel Obama Administration, get a life! This rabid partisan, like his mentor from the South Chicago streets, Saul Alinsky is a Marxist thug. I know...that sends a shiver of libidinous excitement to liberal Jews, but for the rest of us with feet planted on Terra Firma, Obama is a nightmare waiting in the wings. The job of Chief of Staff has nothing to do with foreign policy. Zwignew Brezinski is Obama's foreign policy advisor. Remember him??? Peanut farmer Carter's Polish Secretary of State. A real friend of Israel, like his boss, Jimmuh! That's the foreign policy Obama has in store for you! You Jewish morons supporting Obama...you'll find out soon how Barack Hussein Obama 'loves' Israel. Lev Davidovich Bronstein - better known as Leon Trotsky - lives again!
29. Uri, if you have
north american ,   from israel   (11.08.08)
no your own opinion on the subject, so why you make it to be published? "...I just don't know. I really don't know..." Just one more 'blah-blah-blah', isn't it? Obama is really great for ALL nations all over the world as he gives a chance (maybe the last one) to people to believe in peace between all the people on the earth. 'A believe' is the first step before action is made. You can't change nothing if you do not believe in this. Let us believe in the Good.
