A nurse who has been there for over 12 years and is regarded as a 'senior' should have said NO!!!! So don't tell people it's OK because it's written in the newspaper. You may think it's OK - but the rest of us have an opinion that go against what a hospital, who are desperately trying to avoid litigation, think.

As a mother of 2 preemie's, neonatal nurses are awesome! and the benefits of kangaroo care are miraculous. Shame on some of you for your choice of words, abortion is what is really sad, at least this soul was given a chance at life! Neonatal nurses wouldn't do any harm to a preemie they've worked so hard to nurture and keep alive! This is harmless. Dont you know the brutal way they kill babies during abortion? Focus your attention on that, why dont you.

First of all, I'm quite sure the parents did not approve. If you're trying to expose the newborn to MRSA and other highly dangerous threats, stuffing a preemie in your pocket is a great idea. Also, where is the support for the babie's neck?

no, i personally don't think it's OKto put a baby in your pocket, i didn't say i did, i just said that the nurse is not to blame. she probably feels like she needs to do what her superiors tell her to and so she posed for this silly stunt. which is all it is, a silly stunt and poor judgement, i really don't believe they would have done it if there was any danger to the baby.

Doing something just because you want to, with no regard or respect for anyone else.

People, if you want something to truly horrify you, why don't you look at the babies that are being slaughtered and cut into pieces at the nice clean sterile procedure we call abortion, being done to the "fetus". Instead of calling it baby murder, like it really is. What this woman is doing is no big deal. Get a perspective. Fight for the babies that can't speak for themselves that are being butchered because of "inconvenience".

As the grandfather of a preemie cared for at Meir hospital I can only agree with #33.The treatment that he received was awesome and the dedication and love displayed by the staff was exemplary. If this nurse is guilty of any thing then at worst it's poor judgement and that should be pointed out to her. I don't believe that she should be fired or that the whole system should be condemned as some talkbackers have done.

please, aren't we overreacting? arrested, fired? this nurse made a poor judgement call. She is probably a wonderful, dedicated person, working in very hard conditions. I'm sure that she will be punished for her behavior. Let's not get carried away!

Shes supporting the baby with both hands and her leg. The baby's not just plopped in her pocket. The baby's perfectly fine and happy. An uncomfortable baby will let you know when its uncomfortable. And the dang beds right freskin next to her so obviously she ain't didn't take her very far from it.
