Starry-eyed US Jews can parse Obama's words any way they wish, but the proof will be in the pudding. And I am afraid that their linguistic analysis will amount to nothing. I voted for the President-elect because we needed to fix the economy for the sake of America as well as the rest of the world. It doesn't help Israel if the American economy is in shambles. Barack Obama is a typical Chicago type politician based on information provided. He is probably not eligible to be president by his birth by information shown on the Internet. His presentations have been fluff. I would not be sanguine about him as he is on the face of it a dissimulating person, compared to for instance Hillary Clinton who may have pulled some bloopers but is basically seriously practices governance. So, op-ed person, look this blue-sky pretence artist square in the face ASAP.

Obama's words quoted here can be viewed (and interpreted) as pro -Israel or pro - Palestine equally from the Israeli point of view as well as by the Palestinians from theirs. I suggest a calm, "wait and see" approach. We're going to have to live just one day at a time anyway, no?

Obama has clearly stated that he will abandon missile defense and future combat systems. He will exit Iraq immediately. He will increase taxation in an already crumbling economic environment. He will pander to every constituency possible. He will party-line every liberal issue. He will create the largest US retraction in history, militarily and economically. The US will see itself marginalized to the status of states like Russia, China, India, and France. The position of US as a superpower is OVER. Obama will remove US protection from Israel by removing US forces in the area, by negotiating with every entity opposed to the state of Israel and capitulating to their demands, and will be subject to further strategic spankings by Vladimir Putin, who will continue to strengthen Iran & support their proxy war against US forces. Iran will escalate capitalization on Russia's intentional blindness towards Iran's proxy war against Israel. Up until now, I have been critical of many leaders and policies, but have never been convinced that a so-called "Armageddon" is upon us, and I have been openly critical of apocalyptic rantings. I am finding my optimistic opinion drastically tempered of late.
